What's your favorite horror flicks from the past to the present? Don't hold back, let the scares begin and the blood-gore flow.

Case 39
This is a must see film if you like a good scare. Great story and acting, and will keep you on the egde of your seat if you have never seen this one.
Renee Zellweger was fantastic, and lost a lot of weight too. Good cast, great film.

Case 39? oh look Renée Zellweger! (I prefer her with weight) OK - I'll take your recommendation and add it to the list! hope it's at lease good to watch - cause my chick will laugh in my face if it's bad! LOL
whoops it is on the list! I moved it up to number 6 from 61 I must have seen the commercial somewhere and thought to add to the list....

Um, your chick might laugh in your face. Or possibly vomit. It depends how she feels about mommy issues and lawncare.
Oops, I flip/flopped my replies. Oh well. Let it stand for anyone else.

I love The Changeling (1980). It's not a blood & gore movie. I like the original Halloween. I don't really watch modern horror movies. Years ago, Terror Train scared me REALLY bad I haven't watched slasher movies since. Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland were good. An American Werewolf in London is also a favorite of mine. Bram Stoker's Dracula (the Francis Ford Coppola movie) was good. Jack Nicholson was good in Wolf. Midnight Meat Train is a great campy horror flick. If you watch it, you must check out the "100 Things I Learned from watching" discussion thread on IMDb! Absolutely hilarious! there was a made for TV version of Frankenstein with Michael Sarrazin as the creature that I always liked. DH was able to get it from Netflix. It's "Frankenstein: The True Story" (1973) there was also a made for TV version of Dracula with Louis Jourdan that I recall being really good

I'll have to check out Case 39. I love horror/scary movies and books, and I've always wanted to get scared by them but never have been. Still enjoy them though.

Have you ever seen the movie Old Boy?
I think it's Korean (subtitled) but wow, horrific sure applies.
A man is imprisoned without knowing by whom or why. When released, he begings a revenge play.
In a way it reminds me of the most skilled vaudville magicians.

Case 39 has arrived from Netflix. Girlfriend already doesn't look interested! But I like a quick turn around with my Netflix so I'll watch Case 39 this weekend with or without her.

That is a great movie. I watch it every year around October. I also like the old scary movies. I don't find blood and guts to be necessarily "scary," just gross. Other movies I love: "Ghost Story," the original "Halloween," "Burnt Offerings," "The Others," and most Vincent Price movies, especially the original "House on Haunted Hill."

If anyone knows the title of this film, I would live to know it. i saw it when i was just a teen, but can't remember the name of it. Here's the story. first, it's a film with 3 or 4 short stories in it. The only one i liked was the goriest of all. There was a white female, blond cop, and a black male cop chasing a speeding car. The cop car crashes and turns over, and then you see some legs outside of the overturned police car, and then the hands reaching in and dragging out the black officer. Then the officer is dragged into a warehouse building where the blond female officer follows them. Next she is in a darkened building trying to find her partner and falls down a hole where there is all these bloody body parts and weird flying things above her. She then crawls out and then she ended up passing out. Next, she wakes up in what looks like a hospital room where and old, heavyset woman (granny type) is looking down on her. The blond is awake and asks for help and wanted to know where she was at. The old woman told her she would be ok. Next the walls start to turn to blood and the sheets are pulled off the blond in the bed and her legs and arms had already been cut off to feed to the alien flying bat like creatures. she was left screaming in the bed with these thing flying above her and the old woman that gives birth to them. weird movie, creepy and gory (I like), but I cannot find the film and I really want to see this film again. I hope someone knows what film I am talking about. I have been trying to find it for over 10 years now, and really want it in my DVD collection.

No luck so far, but I do remember it being a late 80's to mid 90's film. It was a great short Horror/Scify flick though. The alien bat creaters that feed off your body pats. When the old woman pulled back the sheets off her and she had no arms or legs the woman in the bed began screaming as the creatures flew above her.

LOL. That's funny, I just watched The Descent 2 this weekend. I liked it better than the first, with the exception of the ending. They better make a Descent 3 and fix the ending!

More of a psychological thrilller, but Nine Bodies is great.
"Nine strangers face the mind-bender of a lifetime when a hooded madman locks them in a basement and announces that he will slay one of them every 10 minutes until they uncover the mysterious connection they all share. But starting without a single clue, can any of them solve the puzzle in less than 90 minutes?"
Melissa Joan Hart plays a great uber-bitch.

I saw the movie Parenthood when it came out in 1990-ish. Scared the shit out of me.
What a bunch of miserable losers. Is that what I had to look forward to?

If any one is interested in a horror film that has terrible writing, lame special effects, a stupid plot and some of the WORST acting I've ever seen, I highly recommend the movie "Knock, Knock". ;D

We laughed so much during the movie It's NOT a comedy! we were watching like - what the fuck is this!! making jokes throughout the movie like the guy playing dracula this MUST have been his First acting gig! I / we wanted to turn it off (Netflix rental) but we really couldn't turn it off - and watched til the end it turned out to be one of those movies that gets better from memory and when watching it
