Back to the DNC- I have to say that I'm enjoying this new era of Republican aggression. The entire week of the DNC has been hijacked by Trump. He's in total control of the narrative. The pathetic attempt by the media to make Hillary's and the DNC's email scandal Trump's scandal or Trump's problem in the last 24 hours is an absolute joke which just focuses more attention on the Wikileaks story. Enjoy I guess. Seemed rather of a lame scandal except for the tasteless thought about attacking Bernie for his religion. I'm sure there are much worse sitting in the RNC archives if they haven't been deleted yet. Not really into the Trump said, DNC said, who's said first patter - but wasn't it Trump that suggested he had something to do with the leak because well Russia?

And seriously- I cannot believe how badly Trump's Russia joke has gotten the left in a tizzy. They don't even get it. It's awe inspiring to watch.

Not really into the Trump said, DNC said, who's said first patter - but wasn't it Trump that suggested he had something to do with the leak because well Russia? Trump does lie a hell of a lot. TRUMP'S CLAIM (during a news conference today, 7/27/16): "If I would've used language like they used about religion, about race, about everything else that they discuss in those e-mails I would've had to run and hide and probably drop out of the race." THE FACTS: Trump was referring to an email exchange where top Democratic National Committee aides were questioning Bernie Sanders' Jewish faith. Yet Trump himself has directly questioned his rivals' faith multiple times. On Ben Carson: "I'm Presbyterian. Boy, that's down the middle of the road, folks, in all fairness. I mean, Seventh-day Adventist I don't know about." On Mitt Romney: "Are you sure he's a Mormon, are we sure?" On Hillary Clinton: "We don't know anything about Hillary in terms of religion. Now, she's been in the public eye for years and years, and yet there's no — there's nothing out there." Fact-Checking Trump's Press Conference (Wednesday July 27, 2016)

Wow. It's been a very tough week for Democrats...
Do you want to tell him George Wallce was a Democrat, or should I?

AGAIN...it makes no sense to have little pockets of gun-controlled places. If you can't monitor what goes in and out, it's useless. What's the point of proclaiming that Chicago has strict gun control laws, when any yahoo can drive in with a trunk full of guns and ammo? Chicago politicians obviously thought strict gun control laws were/are a good idea in spite of this fact. You're basically calling them fools. One thing Americans have to bear in mind: Small arms prohibition in the US, should it ever come to pass, won't resemble prohibition in other OECD nations. It will resemble America during alcohol prohibition, and fail just as spectacularly. The fundamental issue is demand, and there will always be massive demand in the US. Where demand exists, markets flourish, legally or otherwise. Even here in Canada, anybody who wants a sidearm has one. It's not as if our urban ghettoites and Hell's Angels aren't packing heat and occasionally blowing each other away. But we're talking fewer than 20,000 individuals nationwide. There simply isn't the demand for small arms here. That will never be the case in the US. You have many millions of individuals in ghettos and/or gang affiliated, besides tens of millions more who collect guns or are hobbyists. That demand doesn't suddenly go away based on new laws any more than demand for alcohol went away when it was banned, or demand for marijuana went away when it was banned. Like it or not, guns are a part of your culture now. Guns are a part of gang culture. If you want to stuff even more people into your already full-to-bursting prisons and beleaguer your government with ineffectually policing yet another massive black market, by all means ban sidearms. If you want to reduce demand for guns, travel back in time at least 70 years and stop guns from becoming an integral part of American culture. That's the only way you're going to do it.

If by trolling you mean having a grand old time watching the Democratic party implode in almost the precise fashion they predicted the GOP would...yes. I'm trolling.
Either you see what's happening now, or you will learn about it in November.

AgeOfEnlightenmentSCP specifically: What is this meme supposed to mean? It seems to me that "taco bowls" is supposed to refer to Hispanics, and "chicken buckets" to blacks, and you're simultaneously trying to insult both groups as well as make light of their quid pro quo relationship with federal Democrats. Is it supposed to be funny? Poignant? Deliberately insulting? Satirical?

"Ivana did the right thing".
Twice! First there was the allegation and "a sworn deposition". Then she took the money and changed her story.
DEPOSITION. The sworn testimony of a witness taken before trial held out of court with no judge present. The witness is placed under oath to tell the truth and lawyers for each party may ask questions. The questions and answers are recorded.

Virgil...that's simply a poster being a poster. Why didn't anybody jump on him for using racist stereotypes? It just seems to me that "taco bowls and chicken buckets" is the kind of thing somebody in Ms. Clinton's camp might say to describe Mr. Trump's view of minorities, at which point the expression is "owned" (for lack of a better word) by the Democrats and free for use by Republicans. The logic being that when memes are circulated and people cry racism, Republicans can proclaim the expression originated in the Democratic camp, which puts Democrats on the defensive. Both parties use it. Extensively. I suspected it might be the case here because none of you took the bait and cried racism. But that's just a theory. Hence my question.

Virgil,
How scintillating of you! There's also the "Hillary Clinton is a bucket of chicken." joke being widely circulated (I'll let you look it up). I wondered if it might have something to do with that. (P.S. If you want scintillating, mouse over my av. )

Because this poster has frequently and gleefully crowed that "you can't use political correctness and call someone racistbigothomophobe anymore because Trump!" So what would calling out this obvious racism do? He would just jump in with "NUH UH ITS NOT AND NOW BECAUSE OF TRUMP I DONT EVEN HAVE TO PRETEND TO LISTEN TO YOU!!!!" It wouldn't change his mind or even make him blink. So what's the point? Secondarily I've had a 2 day migraine and spent a large part of the day in the ER and I just don't have the fucking energy to have this unwinabble fight today.

Plus, it has recently come to my attention that "taco bowl outreach" appears in the leaked DNC e-mails. Right-leaning sites are predictably all over it. Surprisingly, breitbart.com admits "It is unclear whether Christopher was referring to ordinary Latino outreach itself as “taco bowl outreach,” or whether she was referring to campaign of outreach based on presumed offense within the Latino community at Trump’s tweet." That's surprisingly... equivocal... of them. In any case, I don't think the timing is coincidence. Paul is now on a mission to convince every living soul that "taco bowls and chicken buckets" is what Democrats think of minority races.

I will go on the record and say that if the dems were not explicitly referencing Trumps ridiculous cinqo definitely mayo (IIRC) tweet about the taco bowls at Trump grill, it's still racist as Hell.

Or maybe some of us took Michelle Obama's words to heart..."when they go low, we go high". and CHOOSE to not take the obvious bait, but instead to rise above it.
to have a better world, we have to be better people. Step 1 is to rise above the gutter tactics & ignore the ones that we know have nothing to contribute to a discussion except insults, memes, lies, and hateful words.
We're better than this.

You mean like 'they bring a knife, we bring a gun". Or, the "police acted stupidly" or the 'bitter clingers" or all the so called positive messages of the Obama Administration America bashing. Sure, it suits them now as their approach to pretend this adminstration hasn't been a total disaster for the country and pretend that there are jobs for Americans while they spin the numbers. Sure, uh huh, yeah right.
