I bet I know one of the ones you are referring to... Yes, you do. And it's not even a dedicated Christian forum. Just people in the Bible Belt. It's all "The wages of sin is death! Repent!" Doesn't matter if it's 1950 or 2016. Nothing has changed. It's changed quite a bit. They have "forums" now, just like the liberals. If you don't agree with what they're posting over there. They "pile on" to drive you out.

Just out of curiosity... did you actually read the tweet? He said he was congratulated and that he didn't want congratulations... he wants toughness and vigilance. Here's the tweet: He was (I believe) replying to this tweet that someone else made to him because of a "We need to do something" type message: (See that comment here: Tweet) How is it "tough" or "vigilant" to allow someone on the terrorist watch list to buy assault weapons? That's kind of the point... it's not. He didn't say "we ARE"... he said "we NEED TO BE".

We screwed up. Clinton and Trump in the general election when we were so close to having Bernie. Wtf was America thinking?
I'll be writing in Jill Stein when I vote. I'd urge more to do the same.

Can you explain why Trump and Clinton are neck and neck in Ohio and Pennsylvania? Your polling reports may be accurate, but it looks like Bush's win in 2000 looked like a squeaker, and possibly the first minority elected candidate. I am thinking Trump might win the Presidency with a total vote percent in the 47 to 48 range. The Electoral College vote will elect him and make him a truly minority candidate in a much different way than anyone would like to say here Ohio Pennsylvania Florida might just make that happen.

Well, PA I'm hoping its limited polling frankly. We also have a large faction of Dems holding on to Bernie who I'm hoping will shift to Clinton as we get into general election territory.

Seriously the PPP poll only had Clinton up by one, but it also showed Trump as least liked of all candidates (although it was close) and when asked people thought the Philly mascot would be better at president. It's going to be the undecideds that bring it this term, and it's just too early to tell them yet. Particulalry Bernie people.

This is just a guess, but I believe that the "for Bernie" camp will mostly NOT go with Clinton. I'm not saying that they will go for Trump... just don't count on them for Clinton. Many of them likely will not vote or will vote "third party".

I'm Bernie. Going for Clinton.
I was never as convinced of his chances though. Fwiw I'll do what I can to swing votes.

Like a thread I started in the past, some Bernie supporters will assume since they did not get what they want, it would be faster for heck/the apocalypse/breakdown of the US to come sooner than later. I am hoping Trump will do something stupid enough between now and the election to persuade those Bernie supporters to go sane(Clinton), hopeful(third party) or stay home & not vote(Trump).

Considering that Bernie himself has said they have to defeat Trump, I'd guess most of his supporters will follow that lead.

Billisonboard keeps showing how little I know, or at least remember....... Those were some scary stats! And we were torn apart in 2000 on an actual close race number........ No wonder our country was in so much turmoil in our early years of nation building. When Trump wins, with a large minority "deficit total", I guess the left will not be able to use it in their arguments against him here

In fact, I think it is more likely Clinton would win with out it. I think that to the degree Paul is right about the "monster vote", it will be more concentrated in states that Trump will win anyway. If it were to materialize in other states, it would make them close. So we have large majority votes for Trump in some states, close races in others which will be the deciding factors.

Haven't read the thread, maybe it's been discussed.
DH and I were talking the other day about all the Republicans Trump has supposedly alienated. They can't support him.
What is their end game? Personally, I think if Clinton gets elected as president we will not see another Republican president for decades, if ever, not with the changeing demographics in this country.
So do they think they will be able to get through a Clinton presidency and come back in 4 or 8 years and win then? Or do they think they can still block him at the convention? To what end? He won the Republican nomination, but they think all those people will suddenly turn around and vote for their hand picked candidate? I wouldn't.
Or are they more concerned w/ keeping the House & Senate at this point?

TRUMP’S BID TO BECOME BORN-AGAIN FAILS AS JESUS TURNS DOWN FRIEND REQUESTBy Andy Borowitz , 11:21 A.M. NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—The billionaire Donald J. Trump’s bid to become a born-again Christian failed over the weekend after Jesus Christ turned down his friend request, campaign officials have acknowledged. Jesus, who has not generally been active on Facebook, made a rare appearance on the social network on Monday to announce His decision to ignore the presumptive Republican nominee’s request for a personal relationship with Him. In a brief post, Jesus offered the following explanation: “Just everything.” The turndown from Jesus Christ, the inspiration behind one of the world’s most prominent religions, caps what has been a tough month for the Trump campaign. Privately, campaign staffers fretted that the candidate would pen a disparaging tweet about Jesus, which might alienate evangelical voters in key battleground states. But, at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump made no reference to Jesus, and instead touted endorsements he had received from Gary Busey, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Joe (the Plumber) Wurzelbacher. Trump probably thinks Jesus is a loser, because he let himself be captured.

No one was talking about other minority elected Presidents with les than 40% of the vote at that time. They were robbed! It was anarchy o the Republican's part! The world is ending as we know it! America will never recover from the theft of the Prtesidency!

2001 wasn't about 40% of the vote. It was about Florida, hanging chads, etc.

Trump has a lot more money than Jesus. What about on an inflation adjusted basis? Can anyone here run the numbers for us to confirm this statement? Or are you talking about a different Jesus?

How is it "tough" or "vigilant" to allow someone on the terrorist watch list to buy assault weapons? I didn't see where he said anything about wanting to allow people on the terrorist watch list to buy assault weapons? The Republicans are fighting a bill that would forbid people on the terrorist watch list to buy assault weapons. He is the presumptive Rep nominee and has not said anything that goes agains the Republican stance....
