SANDERS VOWS TO KEEP FIGHTING FOR NOMINATION EVEN IF HILLARY IS ELECTED PRESIDENTBy Andy Borowitz , JUNE 7, 2016 SAN FRANCISCO (The Borowitz Report)—Upping the ante in his quest for the White House, Vermont senator Bernie Sanders vowed on Tuesday night to continue battling for the Democratic Presidential nomination even if Hillary Clinton is elected President of the United States. “If, on November 8th of this year, Hillary Clinton is elected President, we will have only begun to fight,” Sanders told a packed rally in San Francisco. Sanders acknowledged that continuing to fight for the nomination after Clinton is elected President would represent a “steep challenge,” but added, “When we started this race we were only at three per cent in the polls. Anything is possible.” Any hopes that Sanders would soon abandon his Presidential run in the interest of Democratic Party unity were dashed in his defiant closing remarks. “Just because someone stands up there on Inauguration Day with her hand in the air and is sworn in as President, that does not mean it is over,” he said, to a standing ovation. LOL! not going to happen. so, i think Clinton stands a very good chance of winning tonight. i think it is unlikely that she will win by large margins, which is going to keep Bernie in the game. it is POSSIBLE that Sanders is just putting on his game face for purpose of his followers. this crazy talk about "taking it to the convention" makes no sense. Clinton is right about that fact. he has no case to make. he lost. it is not about how many states you win. it is about how many votes you get (at least on the Democratic side, which is all proportional). Clinton collected about 56% of the vote to Sander's 44%. if it were the general election, that kind of a margin of victory would ensure the victor probably 40+ states. it doesn't matter that Sanders MIGHT run better against Trump (i think it is debatable, actually). Kasich would have run better against Clinton, but that did not stop Trump from winning. so, let's just all pretend that Kasich and Sanders won and get on with it. let the voters decide. we now have two pretty stark choices, and that is healthy for elections. he is totally putting on his game face for his followers. after tonight, he needs to work to unite the party that pretty much split in half between the two of them this primary season. that said, let me repeat (the content, not verbatim) what I just posted on FB - I'm sitting here, about to watch the first woman to win a major party national ticket for President of the United States make a huge speech. I entertained the thought of running for President for a hot second in grade school, when I thought anything was possible....until I figured that it would never happen, after realizing that it never had before. I'm actually a little ill right now, because I don't think she's the best of the pool (the whole pool, not just D) and I feel like if she does end up pulling out the win in November, it's because she's the best candidate out there that ISN'T Trump.....and that sours the elation that a woman has finally won the election to the highest office in our land. sorry to hijack the conversation. just had to get that out. I understand this completely. I guess I ought to be happy a woman finally got the nomination of a major party to be in the running for POTUS for the first time ever, since I'm a female, but it's tempered by the fact that I'm only lukewarm about this particular candidate.
I was much more excited at the thought of the first African American POTUS.

I made sure to include the author of the short Sanders article. I thought by posting Andy Borowitz, everyone would know it's satire. I was wrong.

Actually, conservatives here probably did not read it. All three of us. So really only a couple of people did not catch it, and even their comments were not that bad In fact I was not sure if one of them caught it based on their response. I know several times I thought I was being sarcastically funny and members never saw it

Clinton is leading Trump outside of polling error in all (4) of the most recent polls: www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_clinton-5491.htmlperhaps if Trump would stop talking about his finger size and his court cases, and start talking about what he actually plans on doing, he might do better with people who are starting to pay attention to his antics. then again, as Paul and VB will point out, i have been generally wrong about those antics so far, so whatever....

The election is shaping up like Obama's first election....anybody who votes Republican is obviously a racist or sexist and anybody who votes Democrat is obviously only doing it because of skin color or gender. Although I am amazed at how many Democrats are openly pushing the "vote for Hillary because it's time to break the glass ceiling" argument. Of course they probably want somebody else to pay for it after it's broken, but that's for another thread.

Until he changes his attitude....... like that will happen.

Was your delusion that deep? I'm betting a very minimal percentage of actual voters would agree with that premise.

Revenge can be sweet.
The response to Hillary's demand to delete the account.... from the article:
In a sign that the Republican National Committee realized it might have been outdone in the Twitter battle, chairman Reince Priebus joined the fight by referencing investigations into Clinton’s email practices at the State Department. “If anyone knows how to use a delete key, it’s you,” he wrote.
If anyone understands social media can be used to define an opponent, it is Trump, who followed up with another message approximately two hours after Clinton’s campaign targeted him.
“How long did it take your staff of 823 people to think that up — and where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted?” Trump tweeted.

I was watching CNBC yesterday. They showed a picture of Hillary at a rally a couple of months ago denouncing the discrepancy between the rich and the poor. She was wearing a designer top. Cost: $12,000

I was watching CNBC yesterday. They showed a picture of Hillary at a rally a couple of months ago denouncing the discrepancy between the rich and the poor. She was wearing a designer top. Cost: $12,000 Y'all pissed and moaned about the money the Clintons make in speeches and then you piss and moan that Hillary Clinton maybe spent $12,000 of her own money on a designer jacket. Or did she? Clinton Coat-astropheYou hit her for denouncing the discrepancy between the rich and the poor. So be it. But what about Donald Trump? Do you think he is only playing up to the 1%? Or is he playing up to the uneducated and low and middle income too. Has anyone said anything about the Brioni suits Trump wears? No. Probably because we don't talk about men's suits. Off the rack, Brioni suits start at $5,500 and up. Trump favors Brioni for his daily wear. Custom Brioni suits cost more. And if you simply want a Brioni sports jacket, you will pay $3,600 and up. Maybe people should start talking about the price of Trump's suits and how the price of these suits is out of range for most Americans. Trump does have that problem of having his name brand clothing line made in China and Mexico. How do you think unemployed Americans feel about those jobs not being in the U.S. jobs they could surely use? Brioni Suits: Cost & ReviewsNow if we are going to talk about women's clothes and the women who wear them, let's talk about what Melania wore at Trump's daughter's wedding in 2009: "Sunday's marriage of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump marked one of the most powerful real estate mergers in New York history. More than 500 guests (including Barbara Walters and Regis Philbin) watched the power couple tie the knot--so what did the bride wear for the occasion?
"A classic, custom-made Vera Wang gown inspired by Grace Kelly. Oh, and she accessorized with a whopping $220,000 worth of diamonds from the Ivanka Trump Collection, including those stunning earrings with a $130,000 price tag.
"Given her lineage--and the fact that her stepmother, Melania, wore a Dior Haute Couture gown that weighed in at 50 pounds, required 28 seamstresses to make, and cost $100,000--I'm completely surprised and impressed at how simple and elegant her choice was. Ivanka is definitely not as flashy as her last name may suggest, and I'm loving how low-key (yet still stunning) she looks here. She looks like she was born to be a bride, doesn't she?" Ivanka Trump's Wedding Dress: Let's DiscussMelania Trump's Dior wedding dress when she married Donald Trump in 2005 cost $200,000. I doubt she paid for it out of her own pocket. More likely the Donald did. 10 Most Expensive WeddingsNow I highly doubt who ever is the winner of the November election, be it Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton or Melania Trump are going to be wearing some frock that got at Old Navy, especially Melania Trump. And yes, Melania is part of the package if we elect Donald Trump as president. Just like Bill Clinton is part of the package if Hillary Clinton is elected president.

Saw an interview with him where he said he was FORCED to make his clothes in China because the Chinese have seized the whole garment industry with their unfair labor practices, so essentially anyone who wants to make clothes has to make them in China.
Everyone, I guess, except for companies like American Giant, who are extremely successful making and selling clothing in the US.
If Trump really meant everything he says about helping middle class American workers, he would have launched an innovative company that made good quality clothes in the States. But he does not, and he did not.
In fact, his business model is full of getting stuff and people cheaper from overseas, up to and including his current wife.

All, of course, before his conversion to being a conservative republican with good Christian values.
Him and Newt Gingrich.
