Why is it socially acceptable to paint "Just Married" on the back of your car but not other things like "Just Divorced" , "Just Paroled" or "Just got laid"?

While in Beijing 2 months ago there was a car parked on a street with a triangular yellow warning sign attached to the rear window that read in English "caution female driver". I really wished I had my camera with me.

I remember once on the college campus there was a large handmade sign taped in the back window of a little car. It said something like "New driver, never driven a stick shift before. I'm sorry! Please be patient, I'm really trying!"

If you run a 5K and you weren't wearing your Garmin to record it, did it really happen?

I should have put that in my window since I did buy a five speed and couldn't drive it. the person I bought it from came over after work and we went out for driving lessons. I kept my automatic for about two weeks till I felt good with stick. Still miss the feel of shifting gears.

I lived several miles outside of town on a lake. Roommates were leaving for a while, and left me a car to use. "Wait a minute. I've never driven a stick!" "It's okay. Here's reverse, first, second, and third. Bye!" That was fun.

I just finished my 2nd dental appt. for a crown. My dentist refers/referred to this appointment as "building up the tooth."
Why then, did he continue to drill down more of the tooth so that I have less tooth, now, than I did 4 hours ago?
Doesn't he know drilling like that doesn't boost morale?

My important question is: how is this my fault again? Background: When I came out of a store today, a lady in a large Cadillac had parked me in. She was parked so close I couldn't get out without scraping her car, so there was no way for me to get out without hitting her. I have no idea how she even got her car that close without hitting me. Anyway, she started yelling at me about how I had parked too close and needed to move my car immediately so she could get out. When I replied that I didn't think I could get out without hitting her and she was going to need to get her car out however she got it in, she called the police and spent the next 15 minutes yelling at me and going into the business lobby to complain to the business that I had purposefully parked her in and how she was going to sue me. I'm the SUV. The picture of the fenders is my front passenger side fender and her rear passenger side fender.

Did you point out the parking space line she clearly ignored? Geeze. Yes. She replied that two wrongs don't make a right and that I needed to move. I think she actually tried to back out, realized that she was too close and pulled back in again - but in doing so, she got even closer. Then she panicked. I understand and would have been happy to work with her on how to solve this if she hadn't been batshit crazy yelling about suing and acting like it was my fault. You can't reason with people like that, so no use trying.

Nice guy. He was a little puzzled at first that he'd been called since nobody had hit anybody else. I explained that I had no idea how she got her car that close to me but that I was not sure I could pull out without my rear fender scraping the side of her car, so I had no plans to move. As of that point, I hadn't caused any problem and wasn't going to risk hitting her to get out. If she wanted to leave, she could get her car out however she got it in there, but I was in no hurry and was just going to leave my car legally and politely parked in it's space. He told her that I didn't have to move, took some pictures, recorded our information and told me to call him if she hit me. I had my son pick me up and I left. She was still yelling.

Does she move her car? Did she leave too? Was there any damage? Will Milee ever get her car back? What is the crazy lady on?

Wow, just wow. He should have made her get a tow truck to pull her car away from yours. Maybe a car lot person could drive it out without scraping it. Hmmm...wow.

What is the crazy lady on? Nothing, she's just old and feels entitled. One of our local newpaper opinion writers wrote the most fantastic piece a few years ago about how statistically the seniors in our area are some of the most fortunate people on the entire planet. He pulled out the census data to show they are wealthier than seniors almost anywhere else in the US and much, much wealthier than seniors anywhere else in the world. They are (statistically) healthier than the average US senior and live longer. Our local healthcare is plentiful, high quality and compared to most of the US, less expensive. They live in an area with good weather year round and for which people from all over the world save their pennies to visit/vacation briefly. In other words, this is a truly blessed group. So his question was - why are so many of them so angry, bitter and argumentative? From the letters they write the paper to the confrontations they get in with tourists - this is a nasty, entitled bunch. Which is pretty ironic given how good their lives are compared to... well, everybody.

She is likely losing it like MIL and her sister. She may not have even remembered that she parked there last. Might have been confused. But wow getting that close without hitting your car was something else. And she called the cops? I would say the old lady is slipping and this is coming from an old lady.

Glad the car was unscathed!
And I learned something new. Certain states don't require front license plates. I assumed they all did as I can't recall seeing one that didn't have one. Excluding the piece of crap junkers held together with coat hangers and duct tape where you'd be surprised to see any license plate.

Hey, don't dismiss duct tape as a legit repair mechanism! Just last week I was replacing a burnt out brake light bulb ($5 at the auto parts store vs. over $100 to have the dealer do it) and accidentally dropped the old bulb down into the bowels of the light assembly. No way to reach it and was worried I'd have to take the entire assembly apart (not even sure if that was possible) to get it out. So I made a "snake" out of inside out duct tape, threaded that down into the bottom of the assembly until it stuck to the bulb and carefully pulled it out... magic!!! I'm a huge fan of duct tape and have it in multiple colors and patterns.

Why does my Snapple tea say "gluten free". Does tea contain gluten normally?

Is it made with powder. I'm sometimes amazed by what has gluten.
