Why is Sean Penn allowed by our Government to get away with interviewing a Mexican drug lord who escaped from a Mexican prison, without any ramifications?

I wondered this in earlier post but do you think he (Penn) has set himself up to testify? Or does doing it possibly for Rolling Stone Magazine interview make a difference in this case. Just asking you since you are the only attorney I know on the board.

Did he immediately tell our Government, by the way, I just met with a drug lord that you have charged with crimes, and had a long chat with him, handshakes and everything else, and I know where we flew from, and how long we were airborn, and you might be able to triangulate his location?
This from a drug lord responsible for thousands on gunshot deaths on both sides of our border?

Please tell me you would be ok with Rush doing the exact same interview.

Well did Mr. Penn break any laws?  I just thought it was a good comparison if we are talking about idiots and traitors- because surely if you think Penn needs to tossed in jail as a traitor then there is a group of assholes that should be in the front of the line.

How do you get 'bitter' out of that?  Idiots and traitors-  traitors take up arms and break the law- which we have a group doing, idiots are just people exercising bad judgment- and of course neither is mutually exclusive- hence in OR we have idiot traitors

But answer the question- does Sean Penn have any duty to report the whereabouts of a person wanted by law enforcement?  In another country? Does the press? Do you?  How far you want to go with this?  North Korea has perfected the citizens reporting to the government thing.  Sound like the kind of society you want?

Why do you hate actors so much? I don't think Sean or the actress involved gave a crap about getting attention. I think it was about the thrill of it.

I don't hate all actors. I hate the fact they think they have something relevant to say and because simple minds think they're gods, they swallow the drivel. The ones I like do their jobs and are quiet and grateful someone thinks they're worth money. Smart people know better.

I know we disagree on this. I think its OK for actors and anyone to have political beliefs and talk about it. I'd be surprised if there are many people voting or believing a certain way because Ted Nugent, Clint Eastwood or Sean Penn said it. Of those three, I know the least about Sean's politics.

There are lots of people who love following celebs and imitating them to some degree. I don't think though there are many who really care or follow most celeb's politics.

I think some like the Kardashians are popular because of the spectacle more than anything else. But I suppose we could test it and ask Kim to come out in favor of Jeb! instead of Cruz or Trump.
