awww Jaguar I'm sorry you are feeling exhausted, I wish I could be there to help. megaptera There are several Savers going through major transitions like yours. I hope the group setting and support will continue to be helpful for you. It will be so nice for you when things settle down and you are enjoying your new home.

8/15 paycheck transfer of $952 for total of $43,282 8/31 paycheck transfer of $675 for total of $43,957
9/9 paycheck transfer of $100 for total of $44,057 9/15 daycare reimbursement of $1,144 for a total of $45,201 9/21 daycare reimbursement of $208 for a total of $45,409 9/23 paycheck transfer of $100 for a total of $45,509
September has been a good saving month despite having $500 in car repairs (AC went out). October projections show a $1500 surplus that I hope to add to savings. I've been showing my husband Zillow listings, and we think our absolutely ideal house is $300k instead of $250k. Part of the higher price is getting into one of the best school districts, not just KUWTJ. Seeing the photos I think helped him to get even more on board with saving.

Buckling down for October which may suck. My income was really low for September so not much to budget. I probably should have cancelled the auto savings contributions for October, but I let them go and we'll just have at it. I might have to hit older son's savings for the first time in like forever to cover some extracurricular fees I hadn't expected and another big unknown is my lawn mower. It died on me and it's going in on Saturday. This could be a huge bill. Fund | 2016 Goal

Hot damn! My monthly amount got an increase! Not by much, but I like the upward swing of things. I had an interesting conversation on September 22 with a Revenue Canada agent, basically if I get my rent receipts in by September 30, then they will start the review for the Ontario Trillium Benefit. That's what I wanted since July, so I got my ass down to the post office and got everything photocopied. It was all put into the mail before 5pm pickup on September 22. So yup I was finally heard.

Hang in there, Serious!
When there is a lot going on, saving according to plan may simply not be possible. Do what you reasonably can, and if you had to use savings, be happy that you had saved up so that you had them on hand to use!

Sugi, with all the paperwork you have to deal with, have you ever considered getting a photocopier? Our first one lasted about 8 years but it got quite a workout because we still had kids in school. We replaced it 2 years ago. Both times we paid 50 euros for the photocopier, and both times it came with 50 euros worth of ink cartridges. So essentially we just paid for the ink. Now I buy the XL replacement cartridges on Amazon, it's much cheaper. I'm not sure it would be cheaper but it would probably make your life easier! And I don't know about Canada, but the ink cartridges are much cheaper in the US than in France. And now that DS3 is off at college I'm sure we'll use much less ink. It might be worth looking into it.

debthaven, my place can't have a photocopier or printer, there's no freaking plugins for anything more here. My late sister had a beautiful copier and fax machine, it's in a box cause there's no extra plugins upstairs. Yeah come Spring I'm looking elsewhere. Oh and no more Sugi or Sugilite, it's Jag or Jaguar from now on. I've been Jaguar on a number of Boards for a while and I went through a hell of a lot of issues to get everything moved over. I thank Support cause they helped me so damn much.

My old tagline was: Seriousthistime, $4,451, 7/1/2016 (Goal $8,148) I have eliminated a category from my old savings plan. I had to have my sweet dog put down in July. It was so, so hard to let her go. But I had to face reality; she was in pain and I was not doing her any favors by keeping her around. She would have been 14 this month; old for a big dog with as many medical issues as she had, and in the end it was not her ongoing medical conditions but her hips that failed. I have eliminated the Pet Care category from my savings. There's no need for it now, and it would be a sad reminder to keep it in my chart. 10/1/16 Update

Thank you very much, Savers, for your patience. Life has been crazy, but the move is complete, I'm in my new place, and so far I love it! Special thanks to the ever-patient forwardwego ! Jaguar , I know you are out of order. I have you on the chart with your old name. Next time I redo the entire table I will get you in the alphabetically correct spot. Or -- do you know how to edit a table (i.e., add a line, delete a line) on this board?

SHOUTOUTS: Jaguar It's good to see you back in savings mode. I imagine the moving fund is very motivating with things like the plugin shortage at your present place. Looking forward to your next update seriousthistime So happy for you to have arrived in your new job and your new space, but so sad that the time arrived for you to have to let go of your sweet dog. Hearty congratulations on achieving 105% of your overall goal and Thank you for your care and commitment to the savers. Ombud Happy Dancing Banana to you! With 3 roses earned, and a huge jumpstart on your 2017 goals. minnesotapaintlady Congratulations on $26,750 saved and 99.91% of goal!! It's unfortunate that your Sept income was low, and that your doggone mower needs repair. Sounds like you may have to coast for a bit, but hopefully will be back to your usual good speed by end of Oct. azucena Woo hoo for $45,509 saved toward your ideal home & school district!! And so nice to be on the same page with your DH To all WIR Savers: Keep up the good work! This is the time of year when things can unravel. Remember, those who love you do not want you to set yourself back financially. The best gift of all is the peace and calm and lightness of shoulder that come with a margin of savings instead of living near the edge. Sorry the shouts were brief. I love you fellow savers. If I missed you this time I will try to catch you next round when we've completed Oct.

My savings spending is usually up around September. I'm thinking of firing up some 2017 goals now and stretching my fiscal year from October to September. Is that weird?

Hey all, no official update yet. Our finances are still all over the place and will be until we get moved and our current place taken care of. The new place is going slow, but at least there is SOME progress. Floor joists are done! I hate not knowing WHEN it will be done though. We're still working on the current place and keep going back and forth on if we want to rent it out or sell it. (Please talk me out of renting it out, LOL!) Short story: Not much saving going on; lots of spending going on. I hope to have some definite savings goals in place in the next few months.

CC's in Calif. are so wonderful! Best things about CC's in California: - Tuition free for those earning less than 85k 💵
- Availability of transferable courses 😎
- Smaller class size 👫👬👭
- Plethora of certificate programs (GS2 will be at DVC)

I am waiting for a few more things to shake out. 1 CC will be paid in full in a few days and so I can start working on my savings. I will pop in next week with my update. Keep the faith and be thankful that if you have to use your savings you had the money to begin with.

I have my EF funded $1,000. I am in the process of thinking about goals for myself. By next Christmas I'd like to be in a relationship. Not currently searching because DD is still in High School and he'd have to be like minded. All the free online dating sites have creepy guys on them.
I want to read more. Question is listening to books on tape the same thing as reading the book?
I'd like to have $25,000 in my EF. I'm thinking about refinancing to a 15 year fixed mortgage.
