Well there's still no dang word from the Provincial Government/Revenue Canada yet about the extra money that they gave me. The next payment is mid month, so I'll keep looking to see if there is any positive action. I'm still worried though about saving anything cause the bank told me that the Provincial Government could freeze my bank accounts. I'm also worried about any possible fine, cause you never know when dealing with the government just what shit they will pile on you.
So everything is still uncertain and frankly I'm too pissed to want to even save right now. I'm looking forward to 2017.

Snapdragon 9/01/16 --- $5105.17 / $10,000 -- update
Car/House $ 501.02 / $1500 Savings $ 1600.00/ $4000 Travel $ 3004.15 / $4500 New Totals $ 5105.17 / $10,000 I needed to pay my friend for my part of the VRBO payment. But I am really happy with that. I will probably end up doing a 2nd update this month. The 2nd mtg is under $300 and will be paid off this month so than I will have to play with my sums.

So, I screwed up when sending the money for High School savings this month and forgot to take into consideration the $200 that is automatically taken out of my account every month on the 1st for that purpose. So, instead of transferring money back from Vanguard I'm just going to take it out of other line items in my budget for September...namely my property taxes for 2017. I have 9 months to replace that money. Fund | 2016 Goal
| Current | Needed | % Comp.
| 2016 Roth
| $5500
| $5500 | $0 | 100.00% | 2017 Roth
| $5500 | $5500 | $0 | 100.00% | Replacement Car
| $3600 | $3600 | $0 | 100.00% | College | $2400 | $1800 | $600 | 75.00% | Vacation | $3000 | $3000 | $0 | 100.00% | Pr. High School
| $3750 | $3400 | $150 | 96.00% | Car Maint
| $1000 | $1050 | $75 | 105.00% | Christmas | $1000 | $1000 | $0 | 100.00% | Sea Base
| $500 | $500 | $0 | 100.00% | Y Membership
| $500 | $500 | $0 | 100.00% | Total | $26750 | $26050 | $700 | 97.38% |

I got a letter back from the Federal Government, and they have made a complete mess of everything. Now I have to get this all settled within a month or else I owe them $7,200. I'll call them on Tuesday and start the process.

They overpaid me by $96, but they are saying that the mentioned $7,200 is an issue. It's all a mess, I done my taxes right, some damn noob not doing their job right gave me more money than what I should have got back. I'm just trying to get them to take back the $96 and hell they ain't making it easy bringing now this $7,200 in, which is my rent amount for the year. They have made now two big messes and I'm just trying to fix it.

Well it's official - the 2nd mortgage is paid off as of yesterday. I have had Murphy trying to trip and roll me lately so I won't be able to hugely bump up my savings. I believe it's going to be closer to November until things get settled. Plumbers make really good money and tires are not even close to the 4/$100 any more. These two things just squirt money and both have happened within the last 3 weeks. I have the feeling that my payoff plans were being hijacked. I refused to play that game so now I have some CC balances to knock down.

Savers,
Sorry for being so MIA.
I am in my new city now, at a hotel with decent Internet service for now, and will try to get the Smilies done this weekend.
<Groan>
This move is a killer for my budget but the environment is a big plus for my mental, physical, and professional health.

seriousthistime - Are you waiting for keys to a new place? Or are you still having to home hunt? Its good to hear that you feel as though moving was a much happier option all around even though it's a painful transition right now.

In a hotel here for a few more days, then out of town for training. I did find a place but the current tenants have to move first. Should be ready when I get back from training.

Tomorrow is my last paycheck before 401k contributions is taken out! I enjoyed the big checks while it lasted... 90 days are up as of 09/18/16
Moving forward I will be contributing to my 401k and HSA account.
I feel the HSA account is the right choice, a gamble but the right choice!
A bigger paycheck was nice while it lasted!

sealy , I see your lovely update and am very impressed. But to get you on the chart I need a goal, and it would help me if you would add a tag line. I will catch your updated numbers next time. Everyone else, please check your stars, roses, and smilies. Let me know if there's a problem. Thank you very much, Savers, for your patience. Life is crazy. I am beginning my fifteenth consecutive night of hotel living, in a total of five hotels. In another ten days I should be in my new place. I can't wait to start surrounding myself with my own possessions, being able to grocery shop, and stop eating at restaurants. I was thinking that I'd begun eating more healthy because I'm eating grocery store salads for lunches, eating more fruit and protein at breakfast, and "snacking" rather than "dining" at dinner. Of course, because I thought I was eating more healthy, I would sneak in a few unhealthy little treats here and there. Those treats resulted in some rather tight jeans this morning. I expect to be able to get the next update done the first weekend in October. Please get your updates in by the morning of October 1! I am sure the ever-patient forwardwego will be very glad to hear I will be back on schedule by then.

SHOUTOUTS!!!
Jaguar Keep up the good fight, I hope you will get past this debacle soon and be able to resume your savings, and thank you for staying with us to cheer on all our efforts. teachermom Thank you for checking in. It's so good to know you are still here, and that you'll be back on track next month. Doggone on these overpayments from employers and governments that cause so much upheaval, and frustration. azucena Getting your house ready to sell while saving for the next one is a real balancing feat. You are doing a good job of it. How much do you think being a WIR Saver has contributed to your success so far? I'm looking forward to your update when you hit your next all-time high, maybe even $45K And I hope your back pain is gone or easing. bankergurl I MISS YOU!!!!! And I'd really love to see you get a to go with your megaptera Congratulations on winning your debt race!!! That will be challenging to pay on the construction loan and your current mortgage. But perhaps getting through the housing transitions will help you really build up your "no spend" / saving muscles even stronger than before I'd love to hear more about your revamping of goals. snapdragon Good job on your longed for win over your debt in spite of Murphy trying to stumble you. (GRRR that Murphy is a PITA) I think you'll find it is a lot of fun having more time and money to devote to savings. minnesotapaintlady Kudos to you for over $97% of goal accomplished...only $700 to earn your movinonup Good job "plugging along" and having your skiing trip money ahead, instead of bills after Hola nodebt42 Wow, you've socked away nearly $1K in less than a month Ombud Another very strong update for you, now at 88% , and also just $700 needed for And hats off to Saving4Norway who is now at 70% of goal and who is responsible for these savers' words to the wise: "A friend of mine and I are interested in the adventure"....."I figure it can't be cheap, so I thought I better start saving." Missing you too scrgrl47 and looking forward to your next awesome update Thank you seriousthistime for your work and support in updating our savings. I'll be happy for you to get motel living behind you , and start your new normal Looking forward to when things have calmed down enough for your next personal update too. sealy I think TheHaitian said it well...you used your savings and it's good that you had it in place. You (and several others) are so worthy of the "never give up" award. Stick with it, you will find a way...your way. TheHaitian Thank you for bringing that perspective to Sealy's circumstance. Congrats on your progress to 62% of goal and congratulations on expecting in February tobinikui It is so encouraging to see your rebound update for so many reasons...and it allows me to say one of my favorite WIR sayings "2 grand is TOO grand"

Okay here is the scoop, we are now up to $144 in overpayment, I'm calling CRA in the morning. They handle everything. I got back a confusing letter from them not knowing why I sent in that info, so I'm calling them to get this straightened out. Oh and I'll keep calling them UNTIL I GET THIS SITUATION RESOLVED.
This week I'm on the phone with the CRA - Canada Revenue Agency and I'm having a transfusion. Think good thoughts for me please.

forwardwego: Thanks for the shoutouts. So sorry for your friend's losses and the reminders about faith, and compassion for others that need us. Jaguar: Good luck with the Revenue Agency. Seriousthistime: Thanks for the smilies! Savings is not going well. We're bleeding money at the moment: back to school, kids' activities, car repairs, medical bills (we had a little savings to cover some of this), and the new house. I'm finding it's true what is said about projects costing twice as much and taking three times as long as planned. Hoping things will settle down after the new year when we're (hopefully) moved in and the current place sold. Keep up the good saving everyone!
