Well, I did physical therapy twice this week, which is 45 min of weights. I'm counting it. I'm also making a concerted effort to drink more water and take the stairs at work. Climbed the 4 flights four times today, taking stairs vs elevator in my normal work day. Not gonna lie, crazy winded every time. So heavy and out of shape. But every bit helps.
As a secondary issue, have been skipping meals accidentally or due to circumstance. But still successful in bringing alleals from home, so that's good!!!

"dreadmill"? Yep! I'd much rather do just about anything than the treadmill, so dreadmill it is. In the nicer months, or at least when it's actually like until 7 pm, DH and I will take the kiddo and go for a walk, which is much more enjoyable. Doesn't work so well in January.

And I did go to the workout class today, so woo hoo!
bsb, I hear you on the stairs. I work on the stairs. I also work on the 4th floor, and except for the week I lost my work key fob between Christmas and New Year, I have been taking the stairs since 2014. I still get winded every time. Less so when I'm not carrying my back pack or have just worked out, but still. Blech.

well, I made a concerted effort to reduce salt this week, and I already feel better. I haven't done anything extra for exercise, and I'm leaving for a weekend in Tampa stupid early tomorrow morning. that's not happening, either....
this weekend, I'll miss my hockey game (and I need to let the captain know, so she can get a sub....) but I know I'll be walking around a ton while I'm in Tampa. I'm really hoping that I can return to my "normal" work schedule of a 4x9-730, b/c I can make myself get into the habit of taking a walk in the mornings before leaving for work.
either way, I'm down 1.2lbs since initial DietBet weigh-in. will check in again with a number when I'm home after the weekend.

Reporting my week's progress:
(I'm having my weeks end on Friday instead of Sunday, because it seems more motivating.)
Made it to the gym 4 days, so met that goal. Did 180 flights of stairs. Goal was 250, lowered to 200, with a minimum of 150. Didn't quite meet that one, but at least I did over the minimum.
Hope everyone's week went well.

Hi ladies. Been under the weather for a few days so I lagged behind in activity. Add in the fact that I am hardcore PMSing and feel like a bottomless pit, and you have a not so great weekend.
I missed a few days of my challenges, but I picked up where I left off, on day 4. I am hoping I can maybe double up a day or two and catch back up. We shall see. Now for some stretching before dinner!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I hate that I can't get motivated and stay motivated. When I started gaining weight years ago I was like "I am not going over 130, then I am not going over 140, and now I am saying I am not going over 150 lbs." I am at 150 pounds. I hate how I look and how my clothes are too tight. But I just can't stay motivated.
I go in spurts where I eat everything healthy and then fall off the wagon and eat junk. I go in spurts where I exercise daily and then don't exercise for months. I was hoping that training for my 10k in April would help motivate me and help lose some fat but it hasn't yet. But I also must say that I am not trying very hard either.
You would think that just hating the way my clothes fit would be enough motivation but apparently it isn't. I am going to start chewing gum in between meals because I am an obsessive snacker and maybe then I won't snack as much.
I am not going over 150 lbs!!

So far 2016 seems quite challenging. Friday I slammed my hand with the car door. Good grief. In addition to hurting like a son-of-a-gun, it made me feel bad, like I'm ungraceful or ditzy. And made me want to eat junk...(I find that interesting.) I managed to thwart that desire pretty well, and I thank this group and the support and accountability for that. Fortunately it seems just bruised and I'm preparing to go to work tomorrow.
sarcasticgirl Hang in there girl. PMS is such a struggle. It's like knowing you're going to get sucker punched but still not being able to prevent it. Well I'm 3.5 years since menopause, which is a whole other beast but i think I prefer it to PMS.
ilovedolphins You are in the right place. You can do this. One thought: I had clothes in about 3 different sizes in my closet. I decided to ditch anything that is more than @ 5 pound weight loss away. We deserve to look good and feel good at just about any weight. For me a slightly tight pair of jeans is motivating, but anything smaller than that went to goodwill to do some good. If I should happen to do better than the next size down, I'm going shopping. Also apples are an awesome replacement snack. They take care of themselves for portion control!
ners good for you heading in the right direction and being ahead of where you were pre-holiday.

The work week I do really well sticking with calories and staying active. I need to start working on the weekends. This weekend was a fail. I ate way more than I burned.

jeep108: I'm the opposite. I have way more time on the weekends so I get way more activity in. I have time to eat breakfast before I work out, for example, so then my workout is better because I'm better fueled. That being said, I didn't do too good on the diet front this weekend. Veggies were sorely lacking. I'm making up for it some today-salad for lunch and beef stew (which is more like beef vegetable soup the way we made it this time) for dinner. Hopefully that helps me get over this sluggish feeling from eating not-so-great this weekend.

I have a routine during the week, so I stick to a schedule better. If I don't have a routine I blow off working out.

Made a lot of healthy food this weekend - on track to bring my lunch every day this week as well. Went to physical therapy on Thursday, woke up with a completely frozen neck on Friday, grrrrr. All weekend on muscle relaxers and painkillers, so no working out, obviously. And still fighting a cold that DD and I keep giving back to each other. This is my FIFTH go around with I swear the same damn cold.
Gonna try and lift some weights this evening, TBD. If not, I have physical therapy tomorrow.

well, I spent a weekend away with some friends and managed to not gain any weight! we all needed a low-key, lazy couple days and that's exactly what we did. my friend's DH went fishing and caught a huge redfish (grilled one night for dinner) and picked up some fresh day-boat grouper another day (deep-fried for fish tacos another night). I got home yesterday afternoon. my roommate and I tried out my new air fryer* last night, and I think once we adjust to using it, it's going to be huge for us. obviously we are changing our eating habits in general, but this will allow us to indulge once in awhile without it being as bad as actually deep-frying whatever it is we are cooking. last night, we did cornflake-coated bone-in chicken. I bought a whole cut-up chicken and we cooked half. the other half is now in the freezer for later. he took the ginormous breast, I took the thigh/drumstick. the wing didn't look all that great, so we pitched it. some garlic mashed and green beans on the side, and <yum> this morning, I felt ridiculously hung over from the dry heat in the house, so I didn't get up and go for a walk. I'm going to plan to do that in the morning, we'll see how that goes. keep up the great work, ladies! chiver78 202.6 01/12/16*I didn't pay that much for mine, it was just the first link that popped up.

PT went well yesterday, the therapist got a phone call and I forgot what to do next so I spent some time doing leg presses. I also got a spiralizer for christmas and ate zucchini noodles last night for the first time. Totally obsessed with them! I swear they tasted better than actual noodles. Yum yum yum.

202.4 this am. got stuck in traffic and had to hit the ground running when I finally made it in to the office, and missed breakfast. lunch is a huge chicken parm sub from the local Italian market, and I'm killing all of it. will redeem myself tonight with an entree salad. and a strawberry shortcake. edit: I went the lazy route and loaded a margherita DiGiorno with veggies and a little more shredded mozz to keep everything on it. I'm going to have half, and forego the shortcake. after dinner, and balancing my checkbook against my cash flow spreadsheet, I have a pile of fruit to chop up. I'll package up a sliced shortcake and some berries separate from the cantaloupe and strawberries that will be my afternoon snack the rest of the week. the shortcake can be breakfast

I am at 150.5 lbs. So much for not going over 150 lbs. I have been struggling with my weight. I lost close to 20 pounds and then proceeded to gain it all back. Each day I try to get in 10,000 steps and make healthy eating choices. Do I succeed everyday. No way. If I have a bad day I just refocus the next day. You can do this.

I traveled the first half of the week, and made okay choices part of the time and not great choices the other part. Meh.
I did go to the gym yesterday, though. That's probably it for the week, though, unless I work out at home. Boo.

Checking in.
Goal of 200 flights: Did 200 exactly. Goal of 4 days at the gym: Did that.
Goal of not looking hideous in a swimsuit: No discernible change in my appearance, so I guess I'll just keep at it.

Had a wretched week. Felt like crap, time of month, super busy at work + extra hours and my neck and back have been killing me. I have been eating like crap... all the things I shouldnt. Ever since I indulged in sugar over the holidays I haven't been able to shake the cravings and of course I can always find a reason for having some just this once. My goal for the week is to get my shit together and ditch the sugar and flour. I should only have something once or twice a week, but I have been indulging probably every other day. Must get it together! My belly is SO bloated. I feel sluggish and crappy. I know it is dietary.
