Today is my first day back to work after an extended time off. I did good with exercise while I was off. Food, eh, I did ok. I got my veggies in, but I'm not sure our homemade burritos were really healthy for us, LOL.
Pizza at work today for lunch (this has been planned for weeks since today will literally be our busiest of the year) and homemade beef stew for dinner. At least dinner is relatively healthy and full of veggies.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!

I have my gym bag today, so barring no work emergencies, I'll get my workout in today at the 4pm class at my work gym. Ready to start the week off right!

I ate miserably over the weekend, but I did get a hockey game in. so it wasn't all bad, I guess. I do feel the salt hangover today though. ugh. yesterday's menu for the football game included egg rolls (pulled pork/Asian slaw), buffalo chicken "rangoons", and teriyaki chicken "rangoons" all fried in the deep-fryer. there was fresh fruit, but it didn't really counter the fried stuff much. today, I've had an "ancient grains" bagel with lite cream cheese. lunch will be the last of a BBQ chicken pizza from the weekend, and dinner tonight will be the hunter's chicken recipe I tried out on xmas eve. I bought a family pack of split chicken breasts over the weekend, so it will be all white meat. no idea what we're pairing it with yet. definitely going to include a small salad though - nowhere near enough veggies on the list for today. going to try to get in a few steps today too. it's lightly snowing here today, so that may not happen. oh, and my start weight for the diet bet went in last night - 204.6. I'm kind of bummed they wouldn't take the pic from super late Saturday - it wasn't "selfie" enough to show me on the scale. whatever. anyway, that weight was as high as 207 between all the salt and the late-night pizza we ordered after my hockey game. that would have been a nice buffer to put me on the road to winning my dietbet. but anyway.....

I made it to the gym yesterday afternoon - woo hoo! Had to come back upstairs to a 1 hour conference call after, but I still made it. Feeling a little sore today, but a good sore.

It is pathetically sad at how Sore i was yesterday from my sad little workout. I think it was made worse by the fact that I felt really crappy. So I didn't do the challenges yesterday, but will pick them back up today. I will do all 30 days... it might just take me a little longer.
now, if i could just back away from the dark chocolate, i'd be in business!

Sarcastic - I printed off the challenges and am game to try it. I will start with the butt lift one and once I do all 30 days, start the next one. I will start tomorrow because I'm at work right now and it would be weird to do them at my desk and we have calling hours this evening for DH's grandpa.

I did my first ever triathlon last year, and two more followed it. Also did my first ever open water swims last year.
I plan to do more of both this year, which means more hard training. I've added elevation training (using the local high school bleachers, since I live in pretty flat territory). I also want to get a resistance bike stand, for training indoors when I cannot do anything outside due to bad weather.

So glad this thread is up for the new year! My goal is to continue losing weight via diet changes. I haven't weighed in a couple of days, but I'm around 210. I'd love to be around 185 by June 1. My second goal is to work out twice a week. 3 times would be better, but I'm setting the bar low for now!
Today's eating has been good so far! Bacon and eggs for breakfast Apple and homemade peanut butter for snack iced coffee with almond milk Lunch will be leftover turkey quinoa meatballs Afternoon snack is gluten free, dairy free and sugar free chocolate banana muffins Dinner is chicken breast with carrots and probably a side of brown rice

I got up before work this morning to work out. It was a struggle to get out of bed, but by the time I get back from my lunch time errand, I'll be over 10,000 steps for the day. It definitely gives me a more positive outlook on the day when I know I've hit my 10,000 steps long before I get home at night.

My redness and irritation when I wash my face subsided during the summer, but it's back now. :-) I use Dr. Bronners Castile Soap to wash my face and actually my entire body (I prefer the Almond- I think the citrus can be drying and the peppermint can burn if you get it in your eyes or other places!) my moisturizer is coconut oil. I mix baking soda and coconut oil together to exfoliate. coconut oil and tea tree oil on a blemish or bug bite

I mix baking soda and coconut oil together to exfoliate. coconut oil and tea tree oil on a blemish or bug bite I use a paste of baking soda and either olive oil or safflower oil as a facial exfoliater. Very fine grains so it works well, but leaves the skin very smooth and soft. I've found most commercial facial exfoliaters are too harsh. (per spell-check "exfoliater / exfoliator" isn't a word; pardon my mis-usage!) I'm also a huge fan of tea tree oil. I use it for multitudes of things! As for fitness for this year, I finally hired a personal trainer in Dec. I've learned SO much! I only do weekly 30 min. sessions, but I've transitioned from solely cardio to almost solely weight lifting and weight circuits about 2 years ago and was needing some fresh material. I'm really enjoying TRX and Tabata routines. Also helps that my trainer is a young guy who is energetic and really pushes me!

Butt and thigh 30 day Challenge done. Decided to skip the arm and about one for now. My shoulder is still sore from the few moves I did the other night. Considering I start therapy with my chiropractor for my shoulder tomorrow I figured I should give it a rest and focus on stretching. And the ab workouts listed bother my back. So I am doing some other core strengthening in the meantime. Anyway... so thigh and butt day 2 is done!

I did try kirk's castille soap before, but not coconut oil. I recently discovered a tea tree oil shampoo that I like a lot.

The past two years my eye skin has been red and puffy because of too much dryness. I've started to put Vaseline under my eyes at night, which seems to be working but I'm hoping this stuff helps some more.

I want to join but I don't think I'm quite ready to start.
Weight is good but my fitness is horrible. Before kids I was very athletic, I used to do 8 fitness classes a week (kickboxing, yoga, step, weightlifting). The past 5.5 years my exercise is very sporadic or non-existent. I walk and occasionally do ab exercises or arm/leg workouts with free weights at home but the smallest thing (like someone in the house being sick) can derail me for months.
I want to start doing my free weights/ab workouts 3x week consistently for a few weeks and get back that bare minimum fitness level again. From there I hope to come back to the thread and add in new challenges.
I'll stick around and read along even if I'm not actively participating.

I hope it helps. We moved over the summer and so hubby and i now share a bathroom. He got a whiff of my dr. Bronners and has been using it as a face and body wash ever since. I get the almond castile soap by the gallon from amazon! He used to get these horrible dry flakes on his face when it got cold, but that hasn't happened since he started using it. He doesn't do coconut oil... but the castile soap works for him! Sent from my SM-G920T using proboards

Butt and thigh challenge day #3 done. 10,000+ steps done. Now on to stretching. I need to stretch for like 83636722999i hours. Muscles hate me.

I skipped the class workout at my work gym today, but did hit the dreadmill at home for 30 minutes this evening, so I'll call that a win.
I should probably follow sarcasticgirl's lead and stretch as I'm still sore from Monday's Tabata class, but we'll see.
My gym bag is still at work, so hopefully I make tomorrow's class.

I've decided 50 flights of stairs a day won't happen unless I take all my breaks at work, which I rarely have time to do. So I'm revising to 30/day minimum but aiming for 40. That's doable.
