Well I don't know if anyone else here is a ham or knows Morse code. Are you a ham? My call is K3RKU. Got my license in 1962 at 14.

Not me ken. A few years back, we got the fancy devices called telephones. Before that, we'd just come to your house if we wanted to tell you something.

Never had a deer steak. Some hunters at work would bring in deer jerky for us.

I make jerky. Last winter, I made some summer sausage. It turned out great for my first try. What kind of chewing tobacco do you prefer?

I wouldn't think many people knew about the online translators for Morse. I can copy by listening, but the written code takes me longer. Your texts were perfectly spaced. Ham radio is a lot of fun and you don't need to know code to get a license anymore.

I tried it once (chewing) just because someone said I couldn't.
They were right.

I'm with you on that. I'm bothered by ugly and untrue accusations also and it's no solace to me that those people are really the ugly ones and can't/won't see it.
I always laugh at the posts from people who say they are never bothered, never get angry, blah, blah, blah. Pure horseshit (unless this board is composed of a bunch of robots). There is no shame in having emotions, nor do they prohibit a person from thinking clearly. It's just usually the final defense of an indefensible position - that and crap like "you must hate" or "you must be afraid" - stupid stuff like that.
Mostly, people here are great. Just different opinions, feelings and stances. It's what makes the world go round! Gotta disagree with you a bit, GEL. I'm one who rarely gets angry at things said on message boards and I don't think of myself as a robot; nor, am I ashamed of my emotions. I'm just very discerning about where I spend those emotions - and why. Nobody here has any effect on my life. Everyone here is an individual and each has his/her own experiences, goals, dreams and feelings. If I say the sky is blue and someone else chimes in with "No! It's not! It's green!", I'm not going to waste my time and energy getting angry about it. The person could be living somewhere where a tornado is imminent. In that case, their sky is green. The person could be color-blind to greens and blues. That person's sky may well be green. Or, the person might just want an argument. I'm not interested in big arguments with people I don't really know. It's just not that important to me. I do have hot-buttons but I tend to avoid threads I know will activate those because, as I said, I'm not interested in big arguments with people I don't know. I think it's just a matter of different strokes for different folks. It might also have something to do with what I did for so many years and having to deal with people who were in a really bad place during the time we were in contact. If I'd gotten angry at every "off" comment, I'd have spent the majority of my time chewing my tongue off! It's great with mayo and garlic! Yumm...got to boil first though

Now that Greg got to talk about chewing tobacco, I think someone else should choose a subject to talk about. Until then could someone tell me what I need to know to barbeque successfully

Are you good at bbq'ing? My brother in law was great at that. My sister said he could never make the same thing twice, but everything he made was good. He cooked some fish on the grill one time that was great. His daughter and her husband were thinking of starting a bbq place in San Francisco selling brisket. The husband works at Apple and will bring one in to work sometimes and he says everyone raves about it. They looked into renting out a commercial kitchen to cook in. I think it was more one of those day dream type things then a real idea though.

@hickle-it all depends on how creative you want to get when you BBQ. Do you like smoked meats? Then think about buying a combination smoker and grill or a smoker and separately, a grill. Are you just interested in grilling steaks or chicken? Then just buy a grill. Do you only want charcoal grilling or would you be fine with gas (propane) grilling.
Do you like spit-roasted grilling? Then upgrade to a fancier grill with an electric spit.
All sorts of ways to BBQ. Just depends how fancy you want to get.

In Feb I got a job at f***n glass. F***n glass is working with A**p glass. About a month ago, I was told that A**p glass didnt have enough workers and wasnt contributing the hours to the project that they needed to. So I was moved to working for them. I still did the same work at the same place with the same people. I just got paid from a different company. Today I got told that A**p has caught up on the number of hours they needed to have worked so I am going to go back to working for F***n glass. I will still be doing the same work with the same people, just getting my paycheck from the first company again.
Weird huh?

I don't know this because I have never seen a picture, but I always think looney has to be kind of hot. I don't know if *** would mind me saying, but I imagine she has to be pretty good looking too. I can usually tell just by their posts.;-)

I saw a Harley this morning with ape hangers and green neon lights underneath. I think ape hangers look stupid and have to be less comfortable to have. The neon doesn't work with Harley style imo.

I think you need to open back up the looney bin. We need a place like that now.

I love dogs. I like looking at dog pictures and gifs on reddit. I had to give my dog away because i couldnt keep it when I moved for work. When I first got my dog, I wasnt working. When I went to work then, I hired a 14 year old girl to come check on Tilly (my dog) while I was at work. That is who I gave Tilly to. She lived about 150 yards down the road so Tilly would go back and forth between house no matter who owned her. When I rented out the house, the women that moved in started giving Tilly a treat every morning. So Tilly goes there every morning, some other neighbor for a bit and to her owner. She is a lab mutt and so sweet. I love sweet dogs. I can get her when I want and take her to the park for a walk, but she is 200 miles from here.
