I'm in Austin,TX today for a conference. It's so nice not to have to cook! I get to go out to dinner and just chill before all the meetings and stuff morrow.
CSI finale is on tonight and I can't wait to see how they end it.

I wanted to see the supermoon last night so DH set his alarm for 0430 just before the peak and went outside to check it. He came back to let me know it was too cloudy to see anything, and he kept watch for the half hour it took for it to come back out. We saw it briefly, less than a minute, before the clouds covered it again. That was sweet of him. If I hadn't wanted to see it he would have slept through it.

I'm sorry you had clouds bobosensei. We were wandering in and out of the house to check. We had overcast skies up until about 7pm yesterday. I'm happy that DH and I figured out what I think are our last 2 weekends of vacation stuff for this year.

There was a parking place right in front of the coffee shop this morning and I even got a walk in at lunch!

I woke up to the sound of rain and was able to snuggle back down for a few minutes. It was really nice, drowsing while hearing rain fall.

This morning I walked before work with my daughter, and we stopped at Dunkin for our free iced coffee!
Yesterday I thought an employee was going to come in and continue an arguement from Friday. Much to my surprise, she was halfway normal.

I went to a family reunion and had the retired vet there examine the dog's cysts. He confirmed what the dog's regular vet had to say about them and if they do become a problem, they probably won't be too difficult or expensive to remove.

Got home tonight after an all-day work class (and a crapload of traffic driving there and back) and DH had made blooming apples with carmel and cinnamon and vanilla ice cream for dinner

The dog slipped his collar and took off in a glorious frolic. I thought that he was just playing with me and would stop running if I did. Nope! I lost him and spent the next half hour wandering around the neighborhood shouting his name while carrying the leash to which his collar and tags were still attached.
Apparently, he ran to the apartment complex a half mile from here and jumped into the truck of the first people that he saw. They drove slowly around the neighborhood asking everyone if they knew the dog or where he belonged. I ran into them about four houses away from the house.
They weren't real anxious to give him back. He was acting quite frightened when they first encountered him. He's also quite the snuggler and he was really enjoying his ride on the driver's lap. I'm probably quite lucky that he ran to an apartment complex that doesn't allow dogs.

My nephew.
Had a really bad day at work. Called my sister, she was not home. By the time I got off the phone with my nephew, I was laughing so hard I was almost crying.

I decided to bring donuts in for work today. So did someone else. So we have 4 dozen donuts here today. I think I'm eating donuts for lunch as well as breakfast. (yes, I'm saying screw the diet today) And as for my previous post about vacation plans being set, well, now they're not. We invited and were happily accepted by MIL and FIL to join us on Saturday night. Yesterday, MIL bailed, which means FIL is bailing too. So DH suggested we invite my parents and/or any of my family who'd like to come. He's kinda bummed about his parents bailing but mostly gets what he thinks is the unspoken reason. And he got a really good lesson in how DD, at age 7 and in 2nd grade, is ALWAYS aware of the conversations around her. He knew but didn't know, if that makes.

I found this thread! I'm packing to go to our cabin this weekend. We're closing it for the winter. It's beautiful there, but I'm always glad to come home too. My remaining / living sisters and I, are going to spend one last night there together- NO BOYS ALLOWED! I think we'll enjoy it.

We had our own drought and our rainfall to make up for it. My yard is soggy! No likey because I have to walk on the grass now to get in the house. One of my BIL's sledgehammered the landing off my kitchen door so I now have to use the front door. It's too weird. Now I need to get the frickin' thing fixed because of my rotting sill and siding. Oy. Concrete sucks.

I found out last night that a teacher from the kids' school, the one I was going to specifically request DS NOT be given next year, has joined the Peace Corp and is being sent/deployed (whatever they call it) to Peru in August 2016. I'm still going to request DS not get her, just in case. And it's probably wrong that this makes me happy. In my defense, the teacher (my source) was the happiest I've ever seen her so I'm just being happy WITH her, right?

This has been a fantastic week! I have gotten so much done at work and at home. I'm making these cool candle holders, and they are turning out great (better than the picture I think) endlesslyinspired.com/2014/10/22/diy-skull-candle-holder-31-days-halloween-day-20/I've also started running again. I am going to do a 5k on Thanksgiving with my brother. I drove the carpool home from soccer practice Tuesday. That is one of my favorite things. To be a fly on the wall to those kids' conversations is awesome. They crack me up!

I insisted and won that we winter in Florida for 6 months. Very close to hospital but also my son who can help me with DH if I need it. Just to be with my friends and family will help so much. Seriously house hunting while we are there. I want a home of my own not some apartment with rented furniture.

I have another thing. When I was at the credit union today an old guy at the next teller started playing the harmonica. He played for a couple minutes and he was just a customer. Don't know what possessed him but I liked it. He sounded pretty good. I like the thought that he could just carry that around in his pocket start playing anywhere.
