If Donald Trump can continue his discipline and continue his focus on policy without the traditional insults?
I laughed to, but probably not for the same reason. I laughed at the notion Trump could do anything which might cause him to lose. Well, he could do something similar to insulting a gold star family...

100% of Hillary supporters are appalled by Trump. So... ZERO% of Hillary supporters are reassured by Hillary? I think there may be some bias in that "100%" number...

And here we are still not voting for him. I'll be voting for him again, but only because he's the best man for the job. Again?

Even if you think the 100% number is bogus, what's up with 'are reassured?' What the heck does that mean? I'm going to guess you have a notion that a supporter can either be "reassured" by a candidate or be against their opponent, but not both. I would disagree with that notion.

Jake Tapper: "Media got "Rick Rolled" by Trump
Trump does it again. I have to say- for all my misgivings about Trump, I find his toying with the media marvelously entertaining.

I laughed to, but probably not for the same reason. I laughed at the notion Trump could do anything which might cause him to lose. sure he could. he could do 1000 things to lose. so could Clinton. don't fool yourself. it is closer than you think. I've been on the fence for some time about whether or not the "normal election year polls" are accurate. I still don't think they are. I think as well as Trump is doing, they're still actually biased in favor of Hillary-- and that means things are far worse. And none of this factors in the 5,000,000 to 7,000,000 "pocket" voters Trump comes to the table with before the polls are counted. When I predicted Tsunami- I meant it. This election is going to be an absolute blowout- one for the record books. Key stunners are going to be: Trump made inroads with women voters, particularly married women and women over 40. Trump made inroads with the LGBTQ vote. Trump got more Hispanic and African American voters than Bush 43, Romney, or McCain- and may set a modern record for minority support. Take a look at this amusing trip by the LA Times outside the liberal echo chamber... www.breitbart.com/california/2016/09/14/l-a-times-stunned-by-diversity-during-visit-to-trump-h-q/

[believe the Donald will over react and get us into situations where we start losing our young men..and most of them will be the offspring of the Donalds biggest supporters..they are the ones for whatever reason seem to be enlisting in the greatest numbers..]

I've been on the fence for some time about whether or not the "normal election year polls" are accurate. what makes you assume polling agencies think this is a normal year? edit: for the record, you don't seem on the fence to me at all. you are the one who is constantly telling us that an avalanche of nativists are going to swarm the polls and cause Trump to win "all 50 states" (please correct me if i got that wrong, because i am 90% sure you said that, and i am still hyperventilating over it, given that he is trailing many states by almost 30%). edit2: to be clear what my position is on this, if Paul is right, and we see a "larger than normal turnout" in 2016 (and he very well may be right), this fact is EXTREMELY favorable to Clinton.

Live by the polls.
Die by the polls.
LA TIMES: Trump now +7 over Hillary nationally.
But here's the kicker:
Trump has risen from 3.1% support among African-American voters on Sept 10 to 19.6% now in this poll. If That number is correct, and if it holds- the election is over now.
Trump might be well on the way to winning the largest share of the African-American vote since Nixon (who won 32% of the black vote in 1960).

Can you imagine being in Hillary's shoes? Your entire political future depends upon irredeemable radical islamic terrorists behaving themselves because every deplorable word that spews forth from their abominable imaginations is a reminder to hard working, patriotic Americans that your failed polices has allowed that cancer to metastasize. www.vocativ.com/360127/isis-supporters-rush-to-celebrate-nyc-explosion/

This is probably one of the worst polls (and there are a LOT to choose from that are bad news for Hillary) for Hillary I've seen. Let us examine it in context: 2008 Obama vs. McCain New Mexico: Obama +15.1% 2012 Obama vs. Romney New Mexico: Obama +10.2% 2016 Polling in New Mexico: Trump + 5% Republican nominee for president Donald Trump opened up a five point lead with New Mexico and its five electoral votes, according to the 141 likely voters in the Reuters/Ipsos poll released Saturday. Trump has the support of 43 percent of likely voters compared to 38 percent for his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the poll executed between Aug. 26 and Sept. 15. www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/09/18/new-mexico-poll/#FeelTheJohnson LOL!

While Trump's lead is by a wider margin, it is not an "outlier" in that no polls show Hillary gaining and Trump losing. So it is in line with the overall trend of the race breaking for Trump in a major way. Obama beat Romney in Iowa by a 5.8% margin, Trump now leads by 8 points in Iowa- outlier? www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/reports/MonmouthPoll_IA_091516/In the blue state of New Mexico, Obama beat Romney by double digits-- 10.2%- Trump now leads Hillary in New Mexico by 5 points as of September 15th- a slimmer lead with Johnson included: www.reuters.com/statesofthenation/ which sort of makes sense since Johnson is the former governor of NM. The state went for Gore in 2000, Bush in 2004, but it has been thought that since 2008, it's a "blue" state. In fact, 13 states are now in play for Trump, including: PA, WI, IA, CO, NH, NV, and VA www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/09/trump-momentum-13-states-now-play-including-pa-wi-ia-co-nh-nv-va/The CBS Battleground has them tied at 42% - 42% www.cbsnews.com/news/poll-donald-trump-hillary-clinton-tied-across-battleground-states/And Reuters now has Trump with an electoral college LEAD: www.reuters.com/statesofthenation/Maybe I'm defining it wrong, but I define an "outlier" as a result which is completely inconsistent with other results, whereas all polls now show Trump leading, all polls now show support for Hillary trending down, and all polls show support for Trump surging-- this poll just happens to show a wider lead in a group of polls all showing a Trump lead.

Let's wait, shall we, before we make our declarative statements about Trump triumphant - polls lag behind, and Clinton had a bad week last week. Let's meet back here in two weeks, after the first debate and after the voting public had a chance to adsorb the whole 'birther - I meant what I said until I didn't mean it' thing.
I'm not saying Clinton will once again open up a lead against Trump in two weeks - but I'm not saying she won't. I always refrain from pretending to have special ESP powers of forecasting, especially when it comes to predicting how Americans will vote. I've been surprised before.

Sludge report aside, I think Trump himself is helping to create the conditions for these attacks.
In a post on the IS-linked Telegram chanel, "Nashir," an IS spokesman wrote that he prayed for Trump to win the 2016 general election.
"I ask God to deliver America to Trump," the post reads in Arabic, according to a translation by Foreign Affairs.
Additionally, an IS supporter posted on another jihadi Telegram channel, saying that jihadis must see to it that Trump takes the Oval Office.
"The facilitation of Trump's arrival in the White House must be a priority for jihadis at any cost!!!" the post asserts
In all, Foreign Affairs spoke with 12 supporters and former members of the group and found that the Manhattan businessman is the overwhelming favorite of the two candidates among IS jihadis and sympathizers.
