I am so sorry for your loss, and glad to hear of the unexpected financial windfalls you have received. There is no right way or length of time to grieve, and you are entirely correct that you will have to find a new normal, and then move forward from there. Best wishes to you.

It seems that there are no new words of comfort...they've already been expressed. I'm so sorry and understand completely about the combination of sorrow and relief. I've checked every day since you first posted, hoping for better news.
I'm glad that your immediate financial worries have been relieved. Sending hugs and good thoughts your way. Please keep posting and let us know how you and your children are doing.

I'm so sorry for you and your families loss. I know that it isn't much of a comfort, but thank god he is no longer suffering. I wish I could offer more, but i'm tearing up and while I cannot imagine your loss, I want to offer you encouragement and a virtual hug.

Shasta, I'm so sorry. Relief, sadness, emptiness. It happens at this time. I lost my husband to cancer many years ago and I remember all those things. It sounds almost crass to say it but time does help. My thoughts are with you and yours. {{{hugs}}} One does get inundated with offers of help and mostly can think of nothing at the time. So tuck this one away for later use. If you need anything let me know. I may be just a voice on a bulletin board but I do have two ears. . . .blessings.

I'm sorry for your loss. I pray that you and your children will be surrounded by people who love you, support you and help keep the memory of your beloved husband (and your children's father) during this difficult time of transition. I am glad that your family is helping by forgiving the balance of your mortgage and you have a source of income from your freelance client. I know you want to help your children during this very difficult time. Remember to take care of you as well.
