He doesn't need to run. He can just take over the White House by eminent domain. It wouldn't be the first time. It's his thing. He'll tear it down because he'll need more parking for the casino he's going to build next door. I know it's hard, but try to stay on topic. One question only, one answer only. Your hatred always shows up. Immediately.

He's lying right out of the gate.
"All of my life, I have heard, a truly successful person, a really successful person and even a modestly successful person, cannot run for public office, just can't happen," Trump added.
So, that means that all his life, he's heard that only poor and unsuccessful people can run for public office. I call BS.
And that makes him the just like all the other people running for any and all offices. Lying is the norm/standard. They would all be struck dead on the spot if one told the truth. And they are all still with us so far. ETA: I write in Mickey Mouse!!

He is the real life Zaphod Beeblebrox. Maybe that is exactly what we need. Someone to be a pathological attention whore while the people actually making decisions do so in anonymity. That is what we have now, only without the decision makers doing any decisions behind the curtain. And no, Trump's money is an non issue for me. His idiocy is a problem for me.If elected maybe his cabinet can be manned by Celebrity Apprentice winners. Your hatred always shows up. Immediately.

I suspect Neil Young will have something to say about Trump's choice of music when he announced.
And no, Trump's wealth doesn't bother me. The bragfest about his wealth does.

That is hatred? I thought idiocy was a fact. Like when he said all illegals coming from Mexico were drug mules. Excuse me, that's idiocy.

It bothers me in that I don't think someone so wealthy has any real idea of what it's like to struggle to make ends meet. At least he's honest about it. Some others in politics downplay the size of their bank accounts, trying to appear more in touch with an average person's financial concerns. While you personally might not have cared for the guy...there have been very wealthy folks who have been President who have been given good to great marks at the time as far as caring for and looking out for the little guy.. Both the Roosevelts and especially FDR...Kennedy too....

I do not know enough about copyright laws. If they paid the royalty fee upfront, can Young stop them from using it? Sorry for stealing the thread.

I am confused. What are you asking me? Do I hate him for going after eminent domain? I said he was an idiot. I never said I hated him. Trump is nothing else, but a candidate (I use that term loosely) who will be able to say just about anything ticking off everyone, talking about subjects where he will not go politically correct in his answers. There is a segment of the country that will say Hell, yes, that's right! Might be the last election we in America will not be 100% politically correct in a Presidential election. Should be fun.

In that case, show me where I said I hated him, when you said my hatred shows through immediately. I made mention of his penchant for eminent domain, which is a FACT. He's done it in the USA and in Scotland. He seems to think his needs for parking lots and golf courses override the needs of "the little people".

Okay, I understand. You do not hate Trump. Or Republicans. Especially right wing Republicans. Got it. Now, please tell me what thread could I go back and check where you did not condemn any Republican, or better yet Trump, in any post about the subject(s) I just asked you about. I will gladly delete the offending post when shown the error of my ways. TY

Would you like me to pull up the posts where you made scathing comments about democrats and liberals? But yeah, I'm the one who is full of hatred, because I mentioned a FACT.

You commenting on his idiocy is not hatred. My commenting on his use of eminent domain apparently is. Alrighty, then!

Indeed, odd choice to be sure. But I don't think anyone has ever accused The Donald of being particularly..... deep.

Makes about as much sense as using "American Woman" by the Guess Who, for your campaign. Now, those are some interesting lyrics.

Try not to clutter responses with partisan BS - just respond to the SINGLE question.
Does the fact that Trump openly acknowledges he's rich and that it's reported he's allegedly worth about $9B bother you in any way when it comes to a presidential bid?
I'll start - it doesn't bother me at all that he's rich. I was curious why he stated that. Because someone was successful in business is not an indication that he would necessarily be good running the country. We've had plenty of piss poor presidents who were very good businessmen, and vice versa.

Actually, maybe so.
I'm Lovin' It (da- da- da- da daaa)
I think the Donald will add the perfect touch of levity to the campaign. I just happened to be doing something I almost never do when he announced yesterday. I was on the road and I was listening to Rush Limbaugh (that's what is odd) while he was doing a blow by blow of the speech that Trump made. And el Rushbo is not a fan. It was quite funny, in a gleeful and hate filled way. On Jon Stewart last night, they didn't say a word. They just had orgasms. A perfect touch of levity would be Trump picking the rapture-ready Bible Spice as his running mate. That would be more than a touch of levity. It would be comedy gold.

On CNN, they were just talking about campaign songs. From Mellencamp to Young to Springsteen to Sting, and many, many more....they all took umbrage with Republican candidates using their songs. Why doesn't the right use songs by Republican rock bands? Oh wait...I don't think there are any.

He may be a narcissist, but he's not stupid. He's got to have technical people letting him know he doesn't have the slightest hope of winning the presidency.
That begs the question of why he's running. Is the publicity worth the expense of running the campaign? Does he crave the attention? Is he hoping to build "Trump" brand awareness? Is he just bored?
