In the summer, I live in skorts. I'm kind of pair shaped, and these sort of hide the upper thigh, even though they aren't too long. Bermuda shorts make my hips look huge.

I love Dress Barn too. I recently stepped out of my comfort zone and bought a couple dresses there for work.

So how many of you buy clothes on line? I've never done it much. As it is, I take stacks of clothes to try on in the dressing room to find the few that fit. And I'm not even an awkward size (8ish) or shape. I can't imagine ordering and returning clothes. I do it with shoes a lot. Zappos.com is my friend.

I know some people love skorts. I've never understood the appeal. Even just the word skort makes me want to run screaming from this thread.

Fitted tops are what I wear the most of, after I lost weight bought a bunch of pretty bras, pink, blue, yellow, blue and white, love them, they make me feel feminine. I used to wear the sensible ones. [/p][/quote] I'm small-breasted and have always worn pretty underwear- lace, colors, always bikini panties. Definitely good for morale! I did buy a couple of Wacoal bras that were fitted by a saleswoman and will probably buy more. They do fit better.

The thread should be pinned now (I was so scared, it was my first time doing that and I thought I deleted it). Now I really want to go shopping this weekend. I wish some of you lived closer! And drinks before/after shopping are a must.

I just learned to embrace it and wear flattering tanks and tees with them. I can't make them smaller so might as well fake an hourglass figure! I also suggest getting the more form fitting ones - the "baggier" ones don't help diminish anything.

In the summer I am a huge fan of casual cotton dresses- knee and maxi length. I practically live in them. I have an hourglass figure and carry weight in my thighs and upper arms. Shorts just don't look good on me even when I get down to a size 6 I'm still self conscious and have some cellulite on the back of the leg. And the dresses fit me even if I go up or down 20 pounds. I find them comfortable to be in, easy to move in, and they make me feel pretty. I always get compliments. Most of the time I get the dresses as Marshalls or TJ Maxx, but I've also found some that fit well from NY and Company as well as Gap/Old Navy. The key for me is finding something that is fitted under my bust which is the smallest part of my body. I absolutely cannot wear a drop waist or something that just hangs from the top without a defined waist or it looks like a muumuu. I also have a longer torso and shorter legs so wearing a dress fitted under my bust gives the illusion of longer legs. I usually wear the dresses with ballet flats or sandals. I don't tend to wear flip flops in public, even the ones that are a bit dressier. Only if I am having a pedicure which is rare. I just think flip flops don't look very pulled together, and I prefer to have nice casual shoes that I can also wear to work or in multiple seasons.

If you were closer I'd volunteer to go clothes shopping with you. I am mean girl fashion whore according to the boards, you want brutal honesty I'll give it to you.
Mid try going to Dillard's for a bra fitting. That's where I went and was really happy with the process.
Victoria's Secret is a joke. I found out that they lie about your bra size b/c it makes them more money if they tell you that you're an average size. They kept telling me I was a 34 B. When I got measured by an actual professional it turns out I am a 32 A.
Boy was that depressing. I agree that Victoria's secret is a joke for bra fittings. I wear a 32E or 32F depending on if the bra is european or not, and they don't carry that size in the stores. Occasionally you can find it online, but not in most of the cute styles. So they always try to put me in a 36D which doesn't fit and isn't comfortable. I got a correct fitting from a specialty bra store called Intimacy, but I usually buy my bras online at Bare Necessities sometimes even on Amazon.

For jeans I recommend regular old Levi's. I get so many compliments on my jeans. I wear dark rinse Levi's 525 perfect waist straight leg jeans. They are about 40 bucks, but sometimes as cheap as 25 if you find them in a store on sale. Since I discovered them years ago Levi's are all that I will buy. People never believe me when I tell them the brand. They think I am wearing something expensive. These jeans have a reasonable rise length- so they aren't mom jeans or hootchie style that show your panties when you bend down. There is a little bit of stretch so you don't have to wash them after every wear to keep them from looking like you dropped a load.
I wish I could wear skinny jeans, but my legs are too big for them so straight leg is as close as I can get. Looks way better than boot cut on me.

I'm a 32A as well Drama, and sometimes even that's a stretch - I feel your pain! :/ but, I'm nowhere near as skinny as you so (I feel) it looks more mismatched on me, y'know? Ugh. I just found some super comfortable $10 sports bras at Walmart I'm pretty much going to live in all summer. Dresses can be a problem for me since I may be a XS or zero on top, but an XS or zero bottom part of a dress in no way would fit me. I'm happy flared skirts have made a comeback, because hips. I have the same problem. I've been getting pushup bras from Maidenform. They don't add a lot but they make it look like I'm not a total surfboard. I recommend trying one. Couple years ago I had some great ones from Maidenform, then they discontinued them. and of course now they're all ratty and I tossed most of them. I have found a new really good one at VS, but they're just expensive. These Walmart sports bras have a deep V in the front and a thin amount of padding and are so good! I guess one good thing about being so flatchested is sports bras aren't hard to find or wear and there isn't bounce to worry about when running

Old Navy or Gap usually, or Athleta (their workout wear brand). I hate returning things but once in a while I'll get two sizes and return whichever one doesn't fit. Did that with bathing suit bottoms (which I HATE buying ugh) recently, and Athleta takes returns at their stores, so as soon as I decide to drive down to my closest store I can return it for a refund there.

I got a 2 pack from bras for $19. Good quality too! If you have a Kmart near you, it might be worth your while to check.

KMart isn't super close, but manageable! Next time I'm down that way I'll check. I miss those Maidenform bras... I used to get them at the outlets. I did use a cardholder coupon to get the most recent one I got at VS, so not too bad. (but I got sucked in by the 5-for-whatever undies deal.. ..which reminds me I need to pay that bill today! )

unless you're a quadruple zero, you should be able to fit into some small misses/misses petite sizes
Umm. . . I need new jeans and some shirts. The last two times, I have felt thin-shamed by JCPenney clothes. I never found a pair of jeans below a size 4 in the misses section and the small, even xs shirts just have too much material. I don't know if it is my size or the style these days for all shirts to be so baggy. I hate that look for myself. My problem is that I have no butthe after having the kiddo. I don't know where it went.

honestly I think the JCP sizing changed too. I was so inspired by the wardrobe on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (seriously, Kimmy's wardrobe was on point - check it out) that I ordered a couple of brightly colored cardigans and a multi colored skirt that could be worn with either one. I either lost weight or JCP sizes have gotten bigger (or a bit or both) because all of them are at least a size too big! And I already wore one of them so I can't return that. I ordered online then had them shipped to the store for pick-up, so I'm not sure if I want to place a new order and return these for an exchange, or to just return these and try again elsewhere.

I was happy to see references to 32A and 34A bras here because when I shop I seem to find racks and racks of 48 DDs and a few in my size. JCP may also be a step ahead at something that's been going on for years: vanity sizing. As an example, I haven't worn a pair of Size 8 jeans since I reached my full adult height and weight. I'm now 5'6" and 131 lbs., same as when I graduated from HS, and I can fit into Size 8 jeans. Back then I bought Size 12. I think manufacturers have discovered that clothes sell better if they run large.

I'm also a member of the A club. For years I have been considering getting breast implants - just to a "small" C though, to balance out my body shape. But I don't know...

My Kohl's work pants are all 6 shorts, my Old Navy jeans are an 8 short, and my favorite Gap jeans right now are a 30 which I believe translates to 10 (and I definitely have the waist gap problem with them). I get super frustrated pants shopping, sizing is such a PITA!

I am still holding out hope that having a kid will help me in that department, but then I hear how all these people go right back to where they were or smaller after they stop BFing... I guess I'll have to see.

I have a little bit of hope since my mom was almost as flat as I am pre-kids, didn't BF at all, and ended up with a teeny bit more after she was done with kids (before she gained a bunch of weight, that is). So I can wishfully think based on genetics for a while. lol.

Vanity sizing is terrible. My measurements haven't changed all that much since I was in high school. I wore a size 5 jean in high school.
Before I got pregnant with Abby the last pair of jeans I bought were a 00 at Areopostale.
If I lost that much weight I should be dead.
I had to stop buying jeans from Vanity b/c they started running big. I went from a 25 waist to a 24 waist to a 23 waist to even that not fitting. Here's hoping Maurices' doesn't start messing with their size charts.

Sizing had definitely changed. When I was looking for tops for my interviews I waa swimming in sone of the size smalls. I'm a 34D, 5'7" and typically a size 10, I should not be a size small!
