Does anyone else here watch it?

I was NOT impressed with the new episode.  They made us wait 2 months & that is the best they could do?  Artsy crap with blood dripping on a picture & a bunch of hallucinations?  I'm afraid they are going to become like Lost.  Way more popular than they ever dreamed & at a loss to keep up.  I hope not.

I watched it.

I didn't like that they killed off yet another main character. Sometimes I feel like the show has dissolved into "who's gonna die" rather than having an actual plot to follow.

But I did like the episode over all. I think it was a good ending to that character's story arc. He was never going to survive for long in the apocalypse he was too much of a gentle giant. I liked that it ended with him embracing who he is and making peace with it all. You don't usually get that in this show.

At first I thought it was going to be Carol and had a panic attack. I'm sad he's gone but I would have been PISSED if it had been Carol!

Grr. I had to put up with DH watching this all weekend.

I find the show disturbing. I could handle an episode a week. But a constant barrage - no thanks!

I can't even go in my bedroom and avoid it b/c I can hear the TV better in the bedroom than you can in the living room.

He was definitely a gentle giant.

I think Carol will be one of the last standing.  They would piss off too many of their audience if they killed off Carol or Daryl.

Beth's death actually pissed me off more than Tyrese.   Tyrese's death made sense in the context of his character.

Beth's death made no freaking sense whatsoever.  It was extremely out of character and there was nothing in the storyline that made the decision appear believable.   If it had been because Beth was going to help overthrow Dawn that would have made sense since Dawn killed her superior and took over.  But to stab her with scissors in the middle of the hostage exchange that was WORKING?   What the heck?

I loved how Carol went all Rambo on Terminus. She's really grown as a character if you go back and watch previous seasons.

Probably should put SPOILERS in your title, just in case someone who isn't caught up catches this thread.

I don't think the show will become LOST because Robert Kirkman is heavily involved.  Part of LOST's problem was in the middle of the show they sold it and new writers were brought in.   The new writers decided to go their own way wit the show which left plot holes big enough to drive a truck thru.

Walking Dead also has a host of other materials to draw from, such as the comic books and now the novels.  They don't have to invent storylines from scratch.   There is a framework to operate in.

Beth's death shocked me.  I agree that going after her with the scissors didn't quite make sense except that Beth was so angry at her.  Plus she was trying to make Noah stay after he'd escaped.  I think she acted in anger & haste.  It also made for a great cliff hanger.

DH and I got in an argument about whether or not they should have taken the offer to stay at the hospital.

I pointed out that after Woodberry and then nearly being turned into food at Terminus would you REALLY want to take the chance?

Better to stick with the people you know, IMO.

I agree with you.  After everything they learned from Woodberry & Terminus it wouldn't seem like a very promising offer.

Back to last night's episode what the heck was up with the trailer full of the top halves of zombies?

It clearly wasn't a zombie invasion that killed off the people in Noah's community.   

I don't read the comics so I don't have a clue who it might be, but I am figuring whoever did it will probably be the new villain.

Did you figure out that Eugene was full of crap before it was revealed?    Every time he talked about "the cure" I kept thinking he sounded like someone who had played too much Resident Evil, that's not how a scientist actually talks.

I had no clue Eugene was full of crap but I was pretty sure his cure wouldn't work.  I'm not so sure going to DC is a good idea.  It is so densly populated there will be walkers on every corner.  It had to have spread rampantly.

Remeber how the radio kept fading in & out last night?  They were announcing about gangs that were sweeping the country & slaughtering people.  I assume that is what happened to the town & where the corpses came from.  They mentioned something about cannibalism too, but that has already been played out so I doubt that will be part of it.

I wasn't certain if the radio broadcast was real or if it was Tyrese remembering listening to the radio as a child and hallucinating.  Because a lot of what the radio mentioned is stuff that our group has recently experienced.

But then Daryl heard the radio on the way to rescue Beth.   So

I think going to DC is a "good" idea in that it'll give the show new life.  They can't stay in Georgia forever.  It'll give new material to work with as they can expand on what's happened in the rest of the country.   They do end up in DC in the comics so it also gives them several story lines from the comics to weave into the show.

I don't follow the comics so I have no idea what comes next.  I'm sure they will make their way to DC & you are right it will give them a new life.  And I'm sure they will meet others along the way so that should be interesting.

I can't believe we are the only ones here who watch.

I think it's more people rarely visit these boards. It'd get much more traffic on YM-OT or EE but the mods would move the thread as soon as you post it.

I don't watch the show, so nothing will be spoiled for me. However, you may want to look at using the button to hide anything that would actually spoil it for others, in addition to mentioning there are spoilers in the thread title.

that way, people could come in the thread and discuss but not see what they don't want to.

DH thinks Carol is going to end up banished.  She was out there "too long" and isn't going to be able to readjust.

Unlike Daryl who so far we've thought wouldn't fit in.   I really liked the scene in the garage when Aaron told him he knows good people from bad.

kept on saying
OH Tyrese is here, OH Tyrese has started on the show. They made it such a big deal! I thought he was going to be some big bad ass shooting, fighting, trash talk'n, main character!

I can only guess that is his part in the comic book series?
cause this wimpy, punk ass, scared-e cat, always cry'n bout somethin, was on my last nerve!

every week waiting for him to do something that would have cause all the generated excitement from the audience.

Tell us how you really feel ZaireinHD !  LOL.  I do agree with you.  They talked Tyrese up & then never really developed his character.  Even as a Gentle Giant they could have expanded his character before killing him off.  He was at his best when he was with Carol & the children IMO.

I loved the scene where the Alexandria guy was offering to teach the "little lady" how to use a gun.

Dude she took down Terminus, she can eat guys like you for breakfast.

I do wonder how much Deanna really knows about the group, how long was Aaron watching them?  I have a hard time believing she is totally naïve/clueless about the group and what they have evolved into.   She's got ulterior motives for bringing them inside the walls.

I think it's going to have to do with Neegan and the people she had to banish.  There's an outside force and she's hoping to use the group as an ally.

Something is up.  I can't quite place it and I read the graphic novels.....Maybe they are already "paying" for protection provided by Negan?

I know that's not how it went down in the comic but the show deviates and combines stuff, so it could be...........

Drama, I laughed when Carol was all demure & pretened she didn't know how to shoot a gun.  I was also thinking about how she blew up Terminus.

That's an understatement.  I was really hoping her son would get eaten by that walker as punishment for his stupidity.  But no, he got saved.

I think you're right that Deanna recognizes that and that's why they brought Rick's group in.  You can't tell me depending on how long Aaron followed them that she isn't aware of some of the things they've done while out in the world.  She needs people like Rick and Carol to keep Alexandria going, Rick is right they've gotten lucky so far.
