How is your sense of smell, Zaire? If good, you might hold some food you like the smell of under your nose, inhale, then hold your breath and eat it. Wash it down with a sip of water before your release your breath. Buy a small container of lemon sherbet/sorbet and if that tastes good, after each bite of food, have a bit of sherbet/sorbet to wash out the unpleasant taste of the food. Lemon sorbet is known for cleansing the palate of the previous food ingested. At fancy, shmancy restaurants and really rich peoples' homes, sorbet is often served between each course to cleanse the palate. yes! my taste is completely off -line!! toast tastes like powered chalk! Apple taste like straight sugar! cranberry juice is sugar too sweet! water taste just came back to normal Tuesday this week! I have to force all food and drink if there is a small enough lemon sorbet - I like that idea! Thanks

Here's what I found after 6 months on IV antibiotics that fouled up my taste....
Ginger ale is your friend. I avoided water like the plague as it made my mouth taste even worse. Anything with lemon tasted good, so I was drinking lemonade crystal light by the gallon. Water with lemon was ok, but I was going through a lot of lemons during the day....3-4. Orange tasted good. Cranberry was good, but it had to be cranberry, no cranapple, it was too sweet. Wine and beer both tasted horrible. Eating was a chore so when I was served anything, I tried to at least eat the protein.
I ate Progresso soup by the case, with crackers.
