Which sports car would you rather have? Black Z28 Camaro? Canary yellow Corvette Stingray?
Both were on the sales floor I knew the Vette would be about $75,000 at minimum. Sticker price $74,450
Z28 Camaro Sticker price $76,200
The Corvette had mileage of 20 mpg Z28 had mileage of 15 mpg
What have they done to the Corvette? I guess it is the old fart's gentleman's vehicle
P.S. I was only there to drop a car off for service- a recall notice, and not trying to recapture my youth

Having once owned a red and black Camaro Z28 in my younger years, I would buy the Corvette just to round out my experience.

I have to admit, that Z28 looked sharp
When did the price become so equal? That was some sticker shock to see it priced over the Vette, although the add-ons were super on the Z 28

VB-are you sure about the Camaro price. I just looked up the price for a 2015 z28 camaro and it is going for about $25,000 without many bells and whistles. Jim Karas Chevy

Just because they have big engines and low seating doesn't mean that they are REALY a sports car. Now if you talk about either one of those made in late 60s early 70s....that's a sports car! Fot that time period I'd take the Vette. For today's production I'll have to say the Z28. And bY the way: fuel efficiency on a sports vehicle is a moot point, is completely irrelevant. If you can afford to pay $75k for a personal vehicle than fuel consumption should be no issue.

There might be a Camaro going for 25-35k at a dealer but that's just the very-very low end, strip down, small engine( big 4 or small 6) no posy rear and I mean nothing that would make it a sports car. Is literally your fancier name Chevy Lumina or something like that

I have a long standing lust for Corvettes so that's where I'd be. I'm still planning on renting/leasing one for my 50th b-day. Might be a week, might be all summer.

My uncle still has his 1966 red corvette. It has not seen the light of day in years. Should sell for a pretty penny once he passes away.

We've owned 2 Camaro, one was a 1986 IROC Z28 the other was a 1999 red Camaro, by then they had dropped the IROC (stood for International Race of Champions). Bought a red 1999 Corvette with T-tops, then a 2004 red Corvette convertible, traded that for a 2011 screaming yellow Corvette Grand Sport.
DH has now grown up and drives a 2014 Mercedes sedan.

What I don't understand is if you are spending $75,000 for a vehicle, why do you give a damn about the gas mileage?

Absolutely the corvette. I don't get why gm would price any Camaro over any Corvette, I know most aren't springing for the Z28 Camaro package but isn't it a big marketing no no to confuse your heirarchy?

If money were no object and I could afford one of them? Corvette, any day of the week... and twice on Sunday.

Is literally your fancier name Chevy Lumina or something like that Today's small engines are only small in size- lots of power that can put them easily into the sports car category.
Personally I would rather have the Camaro- I never liked Corvettes, getting into them was like getting into a canoe, and I just like the look better- somewhere around 1967.
Plus I am somewhat biased- I had two Camaros- my first car was a 77, and I had an 84 after that one with a Mustang in between
I do like the older Corvettes though- anything prior to 68.

I was drinking the coffee looking at the models, and about lost my coffee when I looked at the sticker the first time. I checked out the Vette, went back and looked a second time at the Camaro. Maybe my glasses were fogged up!

VB-the prices you see are probably true. The vehicles you saw are probably really, REALLY souped up with all the most expensive bells and whistles. I looked up the price of a basic 2015 Corvett and that was starting at $53,000. But the Camaro must have seats of gold.

I'd buy the 'Vette. If I was spending that much money on a "status symbol" I wouldn't want ANYONE to mistakenly think I'd only spent 30K on the car. I do like the way the new Camero looks - but would your average Jane/Joe be able to tell that MY Camero was the 76K one when I parked it next to a 30K one? The 'Vette on the other hand almost immediately is recognized as "expensive"... FWIW: I've driven a 74 Corvette -- my brother had a 'beater mobile" blue and white with T Top one back in the late 90's. Not overly fond of the low slung sports cars. Not really a sports car but he had an early 70's "bearter mobile" MG Midget (before the 'Vette) that terrified me when I rode in it. I've never been that afraid in a vehicle before or since. But, it did make me a tiny bit uncomfortable in some sports cars.

I'd buy the Vette, but only because my BIL is the Vette specialist at a big dealership, and I'd hopefully get a discount.

I bought the first 1985 IROC-Z in Phoenix, paid big money for it thinking I was buying a rare car. Yea right in two years there was more IROC's than you could count. The $75000 Camaro is a special edition, 25 years down the road if your take care of will be worth some real $$$$. The Vette will just be another Vette. I still have my 1969 Dodge Coronet RT that I Pickup used in 1976, I need to restore it.
