I haven't watch it but when I saw "new show" CSI Cyber my first thought was - maybe they will crossover to NCIS and trash the really OLD monitors that still sit on the desk from when the show first started. I mean, do you really still need CRT monitors and flat screens? Now I wait till someone explains to me the need for the old monitors since I am not a "tech geek"

Now they all have new monitors, except maybe Gibbs who is still very old school. LOL

Those old monitors were bugging the heck out of me. I figure they should have something at least as up to date as me I will have to make a point of watching next week.

Still not completely sold on CSI:Cyber. It is just okay. Oscar or not I really don't think PA was the best choice to head this show, she is a little stiff for me. Even though she was never my favorite on CM I think Paget Brewster would have been a better choice.

I watched the first episode of CSI: Cyber a couple of nights ago and it just didn't appeal to me that much. I found myself picking up my kindle after about 15-20 minutes. I am still recording it and figure I will give it another try.

Yeah, we were watching last night and DH says he reminds her of that red headed guy from the other one. (Miami) I laughed so hard I almost fell off the couch, I never did like him either. They will now be forever know as Mr & Mrs Cardboard to me. And Van Der Beek is Cardboard Jr. It was a decent enough story line but they didn't get me invested enough to care. Laziness kept me on the couch not the show.

The thing I liked about CSI back in the day, once in a while they had a case where they showed it wasn't actually a murder or crime, but just a freak accident

I haven't given up on CSI: Cyber yet either... but I'm not a fan of it yet. I agree PA was a bad choice.

I really liked PA when she was on Medium but I agree CSI: Cyber doesn't seem to be a good fit for her.

Great snarky review of Cyber episode 2 www.vulture.com/2015/03/csi-cyber-recap-computers-will-kill-you.html I didn't make it all the way through this episode. Even if I liked the acting, the logic flaws are even worse than other CSI. Did they really do DNA blood testing in a computer lab? Get someone on an internet forum to tell their plan to a newbie? Fly to Boston to stop a train instead of calling local law enforcement? I'd rather watch Scorpion. Just as stupid sometimes, but doesn't take itself so seriously.

I actually liked the premise of Medium... but I couldn't watch it because PA sucked in the role. I haven't seen anything she's been in that I thought she did a good job in the role.

Well, I will admit that I was going to watch and forgot it was on so don't remember where I picked up. I flipped over and all I saw was her staring at a device with green blinking lights in her hand. Just didn't hold my attention at that point so I moved on.
I've said it before - I have a short attention span and it better grab me with the opening line or I am off and running to find something else. Oh and possibly because I am like some others, PA just doesn't sell me on the part she is protraying - kinda ho hum!!

So CSI:Cyber's debut came in at #7 in that weeks ratings. It even beat Criminal Minds by a little. So either CSI fans are craving for more or there are a lot of PA fans.

Why would they want more if they aren't watching the original?

I DEMAND A RECOUNT!!!! How did that awful mess beat CM? The difference was minimal. I just think it was curiosity since it was the premiere. I have a feeling they won't beat CM again. You will be able to see that since I will be posting the top 25 ratings on the General TV chat thread whenever I get them from TV Guide.

Well, my two cents. I've watched two episodes of Cyber and have a third sitting on my DVR. I'm actually in no rush to watch it inasmuch as the plot is SO predictable and, imo, shallow, I've already pretty much erased it from my memory. I will watch the one I've got but if it isn't a hell of a lot better than the first two, I'm done!
Likewise, I've pretty much given up on Law and Order SVU. I think adding the "baby element" provided no value whatsoever and, in fact, distracts measurably from the show. It's now been deleted from my "auto record" options list.

Why would they want more if they aren't watching the original? I don't disagree with the drop in CSI's ratings... what I meant was the new show is (or was) driven by CSI hopefuls hoping a new direction of investigation (and new cast) would re-spark the CSI franchise.

Don't tell me they have brought a baby into it and it is being shown more than necessary!
