I'm ready for the Carson/Hughes divorce, wow, she must be feeling like she made a HUGE mistake! I assume there will be some sort of resolution to this. Maybe Patmore to the rescue again?

Well? How was Downton Day? It was Awesome!!! They did wrap it up nicely. I have to say they really felt it necessary to do a viewer discretion for Robert coughing up some blood? That was a bit over the top. I mean with all the things we see on TV these days that was pretty mild. I do agree that Edith looked and dressed much better this year. In fact I liked her hair much more than Mary's. I am not a fan of her Bob or Pageboy or whatever that haircut was suppose to be, especially the back of it. I think some of you were a bit harsh on Daisy. Yes her outburst at the auction was annoying and a bit over the top but she was only trying to help someone she loved and cared about. She was never a favorite of mine but I always felt a bit sorry for her misguided romantic crushes. I loved the Carson and Hughes wedding and teared up when Tom appeared. I am really going to miss this show.

I just don't know why they wrote Daisy as being a whiny spoiled brat this season ... she used to be very polite. Now she just does whatever the heck she wants.

I know ... but it's a bit annoying to me that writer Julian Fellowes seems to equate education with being a pushy b*tch, ya know? Anyway ... I still like Daisy, I just miss when she was a bit MORE likable, ya know?
Then again, I like Mary ... and she's a bit hard to like this season. Heck, many seasons.
But I ALWAYS like Mrs. Hughes, and Isobel .... so that's a plus.
Heck, I even like Thomas these days.

Well Edith blew off Mary's efforts to be nice, again, watch out trouble ahead Edith. Especially now that Mary is having the feels over dumping Henry.

I think Edith sees Mary for what she is, and isn't fooled by any of Mary's "nice" moments. That's not to poke a stick at Mary. On the contrary, someone has to be the cool, hardheaded businessperson who keeps Downton going. I just don't think Mary has any naturally "nice" in her. Charming, yes. Amiable, yes. Well-mannered for sure. But nice isn't a four-letter word I'd use to describe her.
And who is that gent in the bushes, taking notes on Mrs. Patmore's comings and goings at her new B&B? Any guesses? Did they have code-enforcement officials back then, checking on the legality of such operations? Or could he be someone spying on her doctor guest, perhaps? Yet another plot turn!
And I really wanted Mrs. Hughes to smack Mr. Carson with a frying pan over the whole cooking thing. I thought the way it was handled was funny, though. I almost missed the joke in it.

No she was trying! Remember how Matthew used to say something about how his Mary was different, she was trying to be that Mary. It isn't going to work if Edith keeps shooting her down though.

I just watched the latest episode last night...
Daisy was much better in this episode. I didn't want someone to bitch slap her across the room like I have in previous episodes.
Edith needs to stop being bitchy to Mary. At least she is making an effort.
Hopefully Carson will now shut-up about Mrs. Hughes's cooking.
As much as Thomas has annoyed me in the past, I do hope he finds some happiness. Personally, I think a great deal of his unhappiness, and wanting to see everyone else unhappy, stems from the fact that he is not allowed to be his true self. I can't imagine how difficult it was for homosexuals during that time.

I agree about Thomas. I spent 5 seasons hating him, and this season I feel bad for him and want him to land on his feet.

Did I miss the recap? Now I have to actually go look for it. I almost sort of feel sorry for Thomas but I can't quite manage. Karma is not going to be his friend. I'm sure it'll turn out well for him though, can't end things that way.

Sorry, I was slacking. www.gofugyourself.com/fug-the-show-downton-abbey-recap-episode-607-02-2016/img_2071-2I totally agree with the digestive talk being out of character. I turned to DH and said "Did LM just talk about poop?"

I did go find it, I was just confused. It's so unlike you to slack!
Very out of character, but somehow made the point even better than her usual talk would have.

Cora
Golly, you are Lady Cora! In a sea of snobs, you find the good in everyone, and your empathy and serenity are as boundless as your style. While the cynical may consider you gullible, you'd never prefer the alternative. After all, unlike the Dowager Countess, your compassion allows you to forgive _and_ forget.

Haters gonna hate, but that's of no consequence to you; you're above it all because you are Lady Mary! You're an enigmatic mix of the practical and vulnerable, traditional and modern; after all, you hate to be predictable. What you love? The thrill of competition, the effortless domination of your peers and admirers, and the pleasure of a job well done.

My goodness how many twists and turns in tonight's episode.
I do hope Edith's man reconsiders.
So sad, March 6 is the v e r y last Downton episode.

That was such a great episode. I'm going to be tied up all day and will be annoyed I won't be able to see the recap until tonight. Why do we have to wait a week to see the last episode? That's also upsetting!

I looked for the recap and it's not up yet! Meanies. I really did enjoy this episode, they made you laugh and cry and didn't poke around about getting to stuff.

Thanks for the recap post.
In the personality quiz I wanted to be Mary. After this episode where she ruined Edith's life, I don't anymore. I didn't want to be Edith. Now she is owner of a magazine so I think she is better than most of them. Although, melancholy and delicate.
I hope Mrs. Patmore is vindicated from the triste scandal.
