Daisy is getting awfully far ahead of herself and trying hard to screw poor Mr. Mason over twice isn't she? So do you think Branson was all "Wait I have to watch Sybbie and cook my own food, this is wack!". He had to do all his own childcare and his cousins weren't up to Nanny's exacting standards! I loved the "I want to register for a Branson" crack. Hell, I loved the whole recap.

That recap, as always, was wonderful.
I'd mentioned earlier that I thought Edith was dressing a lot better this season ... and she really is.
For those who are interested, Isobel is the Almoner for the Hospital. The title almoner was also used for a hospital official who interviews prospective patients to qualify them as indigent. It was later applied to the officials who were responsible for patient welfare and after-care. This position is now usually filled by medical social workers.

Well, once you start educating women... I agree she is extremely annoying and doesn't have a clue when to keep her trap shut. I have watched every season and I still haven't quite figured out what the deal is between Edith and Mary. It kind of annoyed me that Mary couldn't seem to mutter once nice word to Edith regarding the paper.

Carrying it over into adulthood and causing someone to not propose or outing your big secret about wherethat dude really died doesn't help much either.

It kind of annoyed me that Mary couldn't seem to mutter once nice word to Edith regarding the paper. Edith has always a bit jealous of Mary, who seems to have attracted better boyfriends. When Mary had that Turkish royal dude die in her bed ... Edith found out about it and blabbed to the Turkish Embassy, which caused QUITE the scandal and hassle between the governments. That was pretty malicious on Edith's part .... so (of course) Mary jumped on the chance to gloat when Edith was left at the altar ..... they've pretty much been bickering and talking smack to and about one another for the entire run of the show. But I do think it's important to remember that Mary is not the only person at fault .... it was Edith who blabbed (on purpose) about Pamuk when he died in her room. To me, that was a significant escalation from the mutual sniping that had gone on before.

To me, that was a significant escalation from the mutual sniping that had gone on before. Thanks for reminding me. I remember the dude dying in Mary's bed but I forgot about Edith blabbing the event to the Turkish Embassy. That was eons ago though (at least according to their time table). It just seems like they could have moved on by now...

I like Mary, and I like Edith. I especially like Edith this season when she just doesn't mope around like Eeyore all the time. I think that the magazine gives her a purpose, and confidence, and something to do with her life.
Mary can be hard to like at times, but I still do ... even when she is being snooty and haughty. I think she had true love with Matthew, and she is still getting over his sudden death. And I think she still resents that for so many years, it was her "responsibility" to marry someone with money to save the Abbey (the estate, the family) from financial ruin. That's a lot to put on a person.

I hope people still love me I am loving the fact that both Mary and Edith are spreading their wings in the business world. I do kind of want them to reconcile though. Each going off and living their own lives but with some sort of reconciliation.

Edith is screwed. Mary was nice to her and she didn't even acknowledge Mary spoke ... oh boy. Doesn't she know Mary won't be nice now next time?
Branson essentially admitted what I said right? Too much alone time with Sybbie in America, time to get back to Nanny!
Daisy, I'll just leave that one alone
I like Mary's new bf, he seems right.

I said to write it down that Mary actually took up for Edith because it'll never happen again. Ever.
Daisy....ugh. Does she ever get less annoying? Please please please tell me she does.
I was amused by Gwen turning up.

She has a few episodes where she is slightly less annoying ... but remains at least semi-annoying pretty much most of the season She does, however, look pretty cute with short hair. (Yes, that was a spoiler.......)

The recap, as always, was quite delightful. Be on alert ... in an upcoming episode, there will be a Viewer Discretion Warning. When it occurs, take it seriously, people.

I am having a hard time visualizing anything on Dowtown Abbey being all that graphic. Perhaps having watched all 7 seasons of "Sons of Anarchy" makes me think I am prepared for just about anything. Talk about a viewer discretion warning

Well, I am pretty much ready for something to happen. With the exception of the first episode with the twit attempting to blackmail Lady Mary not a whole lot has happened this season.
