I'm not sure I believe the whole mess is over for the Bates' though. Wrapping things up or not, it doesn't seem their style. It seemed like they were trying to move the mess into not being able to have a Baby Bates.

Yeah, I'm on the fence on whether they're going to just go on and let them have a Baby Bates early on or if they're going to drag it out and just announce it at the end. I suspect that they will do the second, more drama in that.

Did you click through all the slides?
I enjoyed this bit
"This is the look on Lady Mary's face when she realizes she is dealing with a person who DOES NOT RESPECT TOAST"

The boot room, where happiness goes to die. Haven't found the toast face yet. I have to send this to DH before I forget though. ETA: I found the toast! I do love that face!

You should go back and read all the stuff she said last year about Sarah Bunting : Mealy Apple
I know, it's a lot of Downton homework!

Toast is awesome, I always respect the toast. It's such a great carrier for so many yummy things.

It's December 25! It's December 25! It's December 25! Tonight in the UK at 8:45pm on ITV is the very last Downton Abbey episode EVER ... the long-awaited Christmas episode! WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO! We're either going to watch it live using a VPN (virtual private network) or we'll watch it tonight or tomorrow on CouchTuner or Simply June online .... because it's been well over a month since the last regular episode of Season 6 (the last season!) We re-watched the last episode last night online, just to stay reminded of how things were left. And just 9 days until it starts airing on PBS in the USA .... so y'all can actually start chatting about this with me! Molly you didn't say anything about the Christmas finale? How did you think they wrapped everything up? Was it good?
I won't watch until I get my DVD at the beginning of Feb and then watch the whole season at once. But don't worry about spoilers for me I don't mind them!

Just read the toast thing I watched the first episode of season 6 last night and thought it was quite good (don't hate me but I found last season to be a bit on the boring side). Also, I was extremely tired of the Bates/Anna murder thing. Lets move on already... I am hoping that is over and done. I am still LOL about the Carson and Mrs. Hughes situation though I had wondered myself at the end of last season. It would have been pretty awesome IMO if the Lady Mary scandal came out and she told everyone to go f**k themselves (or something like that ). All I know for sure is that I want Edith to get the hell out of there and finally be happy.

I was pretty happy with all the story lines that resolved, and left with hopeful imagination for those story lines that were more up in the air.

Poor Mrs. Drew. Lord G was a real %$%#% telling Mr. Drew he'd have to find another tenancy. I suppose that will conveniently open up a spot for Mr. Mason to take on pig farming ...

I am SO thoroughly sick of the Bates story line. It's one thing after the other, I could care less what calamity befalls them next ! Their story is so done to death now it's beyond irritating.
And Lady Edith.... Lord.....
I too felt really sorry for the Drew family. They did a good deed and are now being punished for that!
And can someone slap Carson on my behalf? What's up with him and his reverence for Mary? The guy has no balls to stand up for plans for his own wedding! Way to start a marriage.

I really do wish they'd just tell Mary already though. That would be more entertaining, by far.

In some ways, the recap is almost more entertaining that the actual episode!

This season you can really tell is the last one. It's not so hot. It gets better. You just have to endure the Great Hospital Saga, and a few other annoying things. But Edith is definitely dressing better this year ... and there are some wonderful happy moments coming! (I promise)

Daisy is still dense, what is she thinking? Well played Edith, taking a minute to "recognize" the agent. I want all of Mary's clothes and hair accesories from that episode

Daisy is getting awfully far ahead of herself and trying hard to screw poor Mr. Mason over twice isn't she?
