For me :
1 - Star Trek - watching this with my brother when I was a kid, those are good memories
2 - I Love Lucy - This was my sister's fave, we used to fight over this.
3 - Frasier - I used to watch this one faithfully with my mom every week
When I think of 2 more I'll add them.

1. X-Files 2. Star Trek: TNG 3. L&O: SVU 4. Seinfeld 5. NCIS This is my current list... I like other shows, but these stick with me. ST: TNG is barely a second place to The X-Files. Basically these are shows I could (and do/will) watch in re-runs over and over again and not really get bored. I also reserve the right to change my list if I forgot something and suddenly remember. Oh.... so I feel Stargate SG-1 deserves a spot on this list, but I don't know where. I had a super long intense love affair with that show and while I still love it, it's definitely faded a bit. My love for my numbers 1 and 2 have not faded after all these years. ETA: Modern Family and House - love both of those, probably not top 5 of all time though.

Current:
Once Upon a Time Blackish Bob's Burgers The Amazing Race **I should probably put Galavant in here since it is destination viewing for us, but I would probably have given up on it if it was trying to be a series.
Then my B list is: Marry me Project Runway

Looking back - that isn't my list at all. I faithfully DVR - The League, Always Sunny and Archer, and watch them as soon as I can. Because we are in a jacked up time zone, they don't come on until 11 pm. That is like 3 hours after my bedtime. Once upon a time and Amazing race are shows that we watch together as a family. I would probably like them even if I was kidless, but the fun is really having it be a thing we do. Bob's Burgers and Black-ish stay on my list.

Current:

I'm looking forward to watching the 8 week mini-series "The Slap" that's going to be airing on NBC beginning in Feb - premier (opening) episode is on the 12th. The premise of the show sounds intriguing - the revealing of deep-dark secrets of a town's residents:

Things I watch each week (when they're on)
Game of Thrones American Horror Story Criminal Minds (although I'm still catching up on some of the middle episodes when I couldn't watch it) The Big Bang Theory Modern Family
The other stuff I kind of watch in spurts, right now I'm watching The Mentalist from the first episode since I only saw a few before I didn't get tv anymore (I liked it, but had never seen the first season). Not sure what my all-time favorites would be.
ETA: a friend has told me I'd love Archer. Should probably look at that one soon too.

I don't have cable/Netflix/whatever so I'm horribly behind the times. I usually don't start watching things until they're off the air for several years, though I have been watching some semi-current shows on Amazon Prime. The good thing is I can binge watch old series on DVD and don't have to wait for the next season to come out.

No way I could ever limit it to five, or to even attempt to rank them, but I'll throw a few out there.
Star Trek (primarily TOS and TNG) 24 The X-Files The West Wing Hill Street Blues Seinfeld Cheers M*A*S*H China Beach Northern Exposure
And several that never got nearly enough acclaim for whatever reason, but are due either because of great writing or creativity: Sports Night The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Seven Days (Really want this one to come out on DVD) Monk The Pretender

Problem? It's a very very good show. I recommend. The first two seasons are on amazon prime and season 3 starts next week for anyone with cable.
