Brilliant in its simplicity! A. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, marry men. B. Allow those women who want to marry women, marry women. C. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies, abort their babies. D. In three generations, there will be no Democrats.

In 3 generations I believe that we will have only one party. Everyone will be required to vote for it. At least that's the way it was in Russia.

Well, if we keep spend, spend, spending like there ain't no end I doubt if there will be either party in three generations. ...or we just won't party like it's 20, 99... ETA: Prince music will still be on the airwaves, though.. ...if there are any...

Conservative (and liberal) heterosexual couples make gay babies who grow up to be democrats (and republicans). Ask Phyllis Schlafly and Dick Cheney.

Because all Democrats are gay and only (and all?) Democrats have abortions? ...
I'm thinking there are a few holes in your theory there...

I didn't realize that DNA scientists had isolated the political party gene. ;D

So only roughly 10% of the population is gay and they do adopt babies and some female couples use sperm donors. Pffft. I suppose you are going to tell me something outrageous the numbers of women wanting to abort all their children is less than 100%. Maybe we should tell all the diehard crazy conservative types it will work. Might be a win/win situation. ;D

A. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, marry men. I knew you'd see the light. Gay men adopt or have children via surrogates. Just because a person is gay does not preclude them from reproducing and being parents. B. Allow those women who want to marry women, marry women. Lesbians can't get pregnant? Happens all the time. C. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies, abort their babies. D. In three generations, there will be no Democrats.

I was just questioning why you mentioned the fact that Russia had that form of government at one point it's history. Is it that you somehow think it is germane? If so, why?

I didn't realize that DNA scientists had isolated the political party gene. ;D Ah, but they have, bill. It's the one which, in one configuration, closes the mind after the age of 15. If it maintains its intended configuration, the mind will remain open as long as the individual lives.

In all my years as a nurse, and nurse practitioner, I've met two women who actually wanted to abort their unborn children. Both were suffering from emotional/mental illness. Extenuating circumstances can bring about difficult decisions. One must make the choice deemed best at the time, and nobody else can make that choice as the only one who really knows the full details is the woman faced with deciding.

I have seen only 2, as I said, freedom, who actually WANTED to abort. The others' decisions were based on extenuating circumstances, not on the desire to kill something.

Actually, there was a study I read a few years ago about the Democrat base shrinking precisely because of abortion. That's why they want to make illegals citizens. That's also why Hillary proposed legalizing the felon vote. Today's illegal immigrants and felons...tomorrow's Democrats.

That's also why Hillary proposed legalizing the felon vote. Today's illegal immigrants and felons...tomorrow's Democrats. LOL Another of those studies of yours palmbeachpaul. How about posting it. Include where it says democrats want to make illegals citizens because of a shrinking democratic base and why Hillary proposed legalizing the felon vote. Post something that doesn't come from conservative source. Just because a blog or much-forwarded email says so doesn't mean it's true. And I am still waiting for you to back up this claim: And before you get too excited about using Timothy McVeigh as an example- he was actually a very ardent athiest. His last words were from the poem "Invictus", not the first chapter of Romans. There's even evidence (surprise, surprise) that he may have had radical islamist help, and/or possibly even help from the government of Saddam Hussein...but we don't hear much about that, do we. Gee...wonder why?

NEWS Gallup: Solidly Democratic states are down by half February 21, 2011 | By Michael Muskal, Los Angeles Times A Gallup analysis released Monday shows that as the nation heads toward the 2012 presidential elections, the number of solidly Democratic states has fallen by half while the number of politically competitive states has almost doubled since 2008. The analysis of party affiliation, based on telephone surveys, shows that Democrats have fallen from 2008, which was the highest level for the party in at least two decades, according to the polling organization. Democrats’ strength is generally back to where it was in the 2000’s, before wars, rising oil prices and the recession eroded Republicans’ standing. articles.latimes.com/2011/feb/21/news/la-pn-gallup-poll-democrats-states-20110221

can you prove that the numbers have fallen because of people's feelings on abortion like paul claims?

Ah....Ok I think that our government will adapt the same steps (more or less) that Russia did to get to where they were. It could be that we will reverce ourselves & go back to what we were in 30 to 50 years (when it falls apart). Of course we may not.

can you prove that the numbers have fallen because of people's feelings on abortion like paul claims? I have a different sense of what paul was saying based on the OP. It isn't that people are moving away from the Democrats because of feelings about abortion but rather that abortions are decreasing the supply of Democrats.

Solidly democratic fell from 30 to 14. Comeptative went from 10 to 16, so not exactly doubled... Yes, Dems have fallen from 2008, but as noted, since that was the highest level, the dems still currently hold a 4% party identification advantage over Republicans (down from 12% in 2008). The Gallup did use cell phones in addition to land lines (not sure how they developed a minimum quota for cell phones at 150 versus landlines at 850, but its a start) ... Overall seems reasonable... methods and conclusions... Original data: www.gallup.com/poll/141548/states-competitive-terms-party-identification.aspx

I've never given an accurate picture of my ballot to a pollster, and the majority of people I discuss politics with on a regular basis would say the same. as far as the OP, I guess it never occurred to you that a) gay people can raise children, whether they are adopted or born live to one partner, b) people can have differing political opinions than the families in which they were raised, c) people raised in environments that encourage learning *and personal growth* are generally encouraged to form their own opinions, and d)contrary to popular (conservative) opinion, people can and do actually become more liberal as they age as they realize it's the right thing to do....since the conservative right seems hell-bent on limiting personal freedoms and any assistance to those that fall on hard times.
