I for one hate it. I thought that the old format had information laid out in a clear, concise manner that my brain could easily process. Now, it's mainly pictures, pictures, pictures. ("Gee maw, lookit the purdy colors. DA-HURRR!!") And am I part of a dying breed that would still rather read a news article than watch a stupid video about it? Does everything have to be in stupid video format nowadays? *waves cane. keels over*Anyways, msn is now like the USA Today of websites, designed for the lowest common denominator. Enter The Dumbening.

Nope. Do not like.
I get super aggro about change on websites I use frequently and just slowly get over it usually....

Funny you should mention it. I use MSN News as my home page because they have the best local news coverage. Their regular home page is wall-to-wall pictures and video. I detest the damned thing! I want to READ THE FREAKING NEWS! Fortunately, they have a beta site that still has too many pictures for me, but not near as bad as the regular home page. I've set my home page to the beta site now.

I hate it! I actually said out loud (though still just to myself) "WTF is this?" when I saw it.

It's way to busy with pictures. I don't like it either. Just give me links. I did go to Google News and try them out. I changed the format to "Headlines" and I like that OK Oh and I have always hated that MSN used Fox Sports as their link to sports. Fox Sports is the lousiest page for loading on the internet I go to others but I had habit of clicking on sports on MSN.

I have not seen it, but cnn seems to have more videos than news stories. I HATE IT! I hate that too since they block the videos at work. You'd think they'd have a little blurb of a story underneath so you at least know what the video was about.

I don't care for it.
I would rather read about something than watch a video. However schools are graduating a lot of people that can't read so watching and listening is the best they can do.
I noticed when the Weather Channel changed their format they now have 'laugh on cue' like Good Morning America. I check the weather then change to a local news station. But they are going to 'laugh on cue' also.
Yuck

Can I chime in on Windows 8? Hate it. I hate it. Oh, I really hate it.
I can't take Windows 8 (Sung to I can't drive 55)
I don't like the new msn.com, either.

I am not a fan, no. Though the news side of the house is still somewhat navigable.
However, I popped onto autos.msn.com to do some research yesterday, and it is now utterly USELESS. That site used to be a spectacular research tool, with a very straightforward and powerful interface. I could access EXACTLY the make, model, and year of a car via clear drop down menus. Those appear to have been eliminated entirely in favor of enormous pictures of a cars that 95% of the population will never see, much less own.
I try to approach these things with an open mind, and "find" the new way it works. I'm open to change (I need to be as a system designer -- I'm forcing it on others enough). Sometimes with just a little poking around, I can see the logic of why a change was made, and I can adapt. But when a site no longer fulfills a need, it loses my viewership.
And people DO adapt. I remember when the ribbon menus debuted in Office 2007. The complaining was rampant. Yes, its different (the last change was made in what, Win 95?). But the new interface puts the most used functions up front. I bet now that people have adapted, they don't even remember the old way.

I'm finally being forced to work on my Win7 laptop, instead of the XP box that still running better than the newer POS. the XP box had Office 2003 - no ribbon. I don't know where anything is, and it sucks.

I put the icons for my most used stuff (print, email, etc) beside the ribbon or under or whatever it says.

You'd think they'd have a little blurb of a story underneath so you at least know what the video was about. If they put alittle blurb - they wouldn't need a video of someone SAYING the little blurb since it seems to me most of the videos on line are mostly 'blurb' with entertaining pictures or pretty people. A lot of sites are going to the picture with a video format and I HATE IT. I'd much rather read an article since there might be more info in the article than in a video. I've given up a couple of 'news' type websites because of the change in format from news to "oooo look at the pretty colors!" format.

Me too, but I clicked on the button "New MSN or something like that" long before they rolled it out for good. I tried it for a couple of weeks and then started looking for something more to my liking. I've been online for so dang long that I've learned to take a deep breath when changes take place and start clicking and clucking. Been thru to many Windows versions to get bent out of shape. I think the fact that I have also been exposed to so many different types of bookkeeping/accounting software when changing jobs that I don't get rankled to often.

I can't stand all the videos on news sites. Usually when I'm on a news site, I'm somewhere that I can't listen to a video (you know, like work ). Plus, my attention wanders more when I'm listening, than when I can read the news. I don't care if they post videos, I just wish they'd post the text of the story as well. And no, I'm not a fan of the new msn.com format.

HATE IT!
Maybe I am old school, would rather read the news than watch videos.
Plus when sitting at my desk at work I can read all the news I want without bothering anyone. I don't want headphones either.

And I am thinking the reason so many of us hate it is that we are readers not watchers. You're probably right about that. I read while I watch TV. So maybe I should get a book when I click on MSN. But I don't have to much of an attention span for TV so videos online for the news won't hold my attention. I just found another site though.
