I weeded the whole row of green beans, also about half my turnips and beets, didn't get done.
Also I thinned the turnips so they can get bigger.
Took a bunch of pills, bones hurting tonight going to rain I think.
Good night all!

LC breakfast. Ride bike to gym. I forgot my pass fob but the mgr. was there with a trainer so I got in. Ride home, shower.
Odd, every time I hit shift, the last sentence erases. I went to a Rodan and Fields make up open house for about 45 minutes. Holy mackerel is that expensive. I planned friend/movie so I could leave early. I did get info on golf. My dress for the wedding came. It fits and looks nice except my waist line is not that attractive. Yes, the jacket I ordered is needed. I doubt I will reduce my weight by Sept.

Attended a birthday breakfast at the hospital for all the June birthdays then Volunteered after that. On my way home got clobbered by another car. So my car is being fixed and I’m driving some freaking black beast called an Equinox. Told the guy at Enterprise that as soon as a smaller car came in-call me!

Yes fortunately we both are. I’m also grateful he isn’t the kind of person who pretends to be injured thinking a nice payout and we both have the same insurance company which makes it easier. All the years I’ve driven, never an accident until now fortunately just a fender bender.

All the years I’ve driven, never an accident until now fortunately just a fender bender. WOW glad you are OK. And I get the not driving what we perceive as large cars. Years ago I needed a rental and I caused a slight stir when I asked for 5 speed! I'd been driving 5 speeds for years and felt comfortable shifting. I would run over a family of 5 just backing up a large car!

I'm sorry you were in an accident, Zib. I am happy you are okay.
I share your feelings on large cars. Last Thanksgiving when I went to Colorado, they were out of the small car I had reserved so I was given a huge car. I was so uncomfortable driving it that I ended up not visiting all the places I had planned.

I feel the same way. Geico called again and was checking on me if I was ok and did I get car ok? I asked about a smaller car and she said I could go to the Enterprise right by me and trade it out. Hooray!! Something close to my Jetta size. I’m afraid to drive that big beastie!

I can not drive an SUV. I drive a Honda Fit. Those things are huge and I don't have a feel for where they are on the road.
One time when I visited my parents, I was given a van. I ended up parking van in parents' garage and driving their car so I only drove the van the 60 miles from airport to and from parents' house.

Went to the show, it was good. Ate lunch at Long John Silvers, this was maybe the second time in 5 years, rarely go there. I looked at the calorie count and like to had a heart attack right then. LOL! Was in a good mood, came home started to talk to hubs and got told to be quiet while the news is on, the news is always on, sigh. That made me so mad I told him just finish the downstairs out and I will move down there, I'm sick of hearing that. That's all I ever hear. I have no one to talk to and you sure can't him. Told my DIL hope she had a good day. Had sent her some places for her to take little guy today and got a couple of question marks and no answer or acknowledgment. Guess she didn't like it yesterday when I said we just didn't have any more money to put in a house if they moved to Seattle, well, she might as well know. I will probably lose contact with little grandson. Will make me very sad, I am stressing over this, I am trying not to but am. I cannot buy happiness for her, we helped her get anything and everything she wanted, didn't help, I'm done. I just feel sad tonight, trying so hard to psych myself up and get shot down on all fronts.

I prepared a 5 pound bag of carrots tonight, then canned them. First batch of 2018 canning.
5 pounds equaled 9 pints of carrots.

I have a full size Silverado 4 X 4. I like driving big vehicles, I don't want to be in a sardine can if someone hits me. Hubs said my Cadillac was basically plastic, this vehicle at least gives me some protection. And I like the additional head, leg, and foot room for when the 3 of us goes somewhere.

Had last week off but DH only had the 4th.
Really had a good time just doing whatever I wanted.
Rode my horse Did 1500m at the long course pool a few days Mopped down all the wood and tile floors Cleaned both bathrooms
Vacuumed and dusted everything.
Polished all the stainless in the kitchen.
Ironed Did lots of laundry and dried it on the line Went to the library Went up to the lake and had lunch at a little place on the river. Went driving along the lake just to see and discover new areas. Picked raspberries, peas and tomatoes from our gardens Picked cherries and blueberries Baked a blueberry cake Mashed and froze some of the fruit I picked Had lunch with a friend in town, stopped at Trader Joe's and TJMaxx Puttered around the house doing paperwork and tidying. Got out the binoculars and did some bird watching out back Mailed a return at the post office Swam at a friend's pool a few afternoons and DH and I did a bbq Saturday evening there. Did the books at church Kept up with filling the bird feeder and the hummingbird water feeder Watered flowers and vegetable garden. Dug out weeds in sidewalk...arghh
Read and napped in the hammock...and read some more...
It was just a pleasure..

I helped hubs, he put out about 60 potted blue rug junipers on our ditch sloping part. It was hot, he fixed a hose and we will leave it out there so I can water for a couple of weeks helping them get established.
I picked green beans, a couple heads of cabbage. Some squash, cukes, peppers, green onions, 4 smaller eggplants, they will be good, and some okra. Lots of good food.
Tonight I fixed eggplant parmesan, it was good. I need to clean the table and then break green beans. Maybe make pickles tomorrow.

Walked to medical appointment and back home. One mosquito nailed me. I did my core, hand, and stretch band exercises. Lunch, brief nap. GrGrS2 came over. We left for the movie to see Jurassic World. It was 3D and cost more so we left. DQ for their $5 lunch then back to the theater for the 3 o'clock showing. I had already seen it. Home for more food and now watching TV. 90 degrees and mosquitoes outdoors so we are in.

I broke the beans, cleaned all the veggies, put some in the fridge, made eggplant parmesan for dinner. It was good. I bought the small eggplant variety this year and they are much better.
I decided to go ahead and can 7 quarts of beans tonight. I ended up with more then I thought I had so will do 1 cooking. If any are left I will cook them tomorrow. I have enough cukes to make pickles tomorrow. So bread and butter pickles it will be.
I pulled a bunch of turnips, I just eat a few now and then so put them in water overnight and will take them to the food bank tomorrow. We are watering the garden, but its so dry that a lot of the veggies are a bit wilted and I'm soaking them in water to crisp them up.

Him...not so much.

Electric went off after 10 last night so no beans canned. I guess it didn't come back on
till 2AM or so. Now I have to do that today. And either make or start my pickles.
Need to run to town and take DD's medical card.

Made a run to the city today. Picked up 50 pounds of peaches, 25 pounds for $40, damn, but anyway, these will be frozen after prepped. There was a semi full where I went and a line, the thing was over half empty maybe more. I also got 2 pounds of beautiful pecans for $20, fair on those I think.
Peaches here did not produce this year, ours are the size of walnuts.
I have water boiling and jars washing to get ready to can green beans, maybe 7 quarts. Have cukes I'm going to prepare for pickles, so need to start on those and onions. Have to check my recipe, can't remember how long to soak them in salt water.

Here's a tale. Night before last assisted living called hubs, said his mom tore up her pill box. She had torn up one the center had but it was just plastic and she pried till she tore the lock off.
Well hubs didn't believe them because the second box was a fireproof box with key lock. It is steel or something, but heavy and solid. Hubs told them take her meds to the office, they said MIL had her tv remote in the box.
Ok, he goes over next day, she has torn up the box. The lock off the front and 2 recessed areas that lock. He did not find the one piece. He said I can't even imagine how she did that. The only thing she has there now is a pair of scissors, she has had to use them, they are old and sharp ends. I told him he needs to bring those home, you never know what might get into her mind. Of course she has no idea she did that. No memory of it at all.
We had another, bigger, heavier, different kind of lock setup. We used it for DD's meds and ours but it was a hassle locking it, etc, we bought a keypad one for us, so had this one. He says oh she can't do it to that one. I wouldn't bet on it. She has nothing to do, she will not attend anything they have going on there. They have activities daily, but she is not about to attend so she has all day to sit there and think up something like this. I bet she worked on it all day or maybe days.
When he ordered new keys for the second, we need several he told the CS person their safes weren't very good. That his 92 year old mom had found a way to get it open. But I worry about her getting mad and using the scissors for something else. I think I need to take a trip over there and get them.
Just wow!

It doesn't sound like she should have meds in her room at all.

They do give them to her, they have the extra key, she has no access to the box. But each resident has their pill box in their room, they don't have somewhere to keep all of them. They said they have never had an issue like this with anyother resident.

No, this is assisted living, not a nursing home. They have no nurse on duty so the pills are in each residents room in a locked box. Hubs has a pill box in it and he refills it every week for her. Most assisted living have no nurse on staff.

Most assisted living have no nurse on staff. But it sounds like she has a severe memory deficit! She can't remember destroying the box! How can people like that live in assisted living without staff present?
