The Case For Obama's Impeachment

It may just be time.

Without notifying Congress as required by law, he set free terrorist prisoners at a time of war when they can return to the battlefield to kill our troops.

In violation of our Constitution, he regularly ignores court orders, changes laws by executive fiat, and refuses to enforce laws he doesn’t like, including our immigration laws.

When Congress declined to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants’ offspring, he unilaterally enacted his own version of it, which created the current crisis on our border as illegal youth pour into our country to receive what he illegally promised them.

He committed fraud on the American people when he promised that if we liked our health care plan we could keep it.

He got us into a war in Libya without Congressional approval. When our ambassador begged for security at the consulate in Benghazi, he was ignored and then murdered when the consulate was attacked as predicted. Americans were left behind to die, as the president did nothing to rescue our people there. Afterwards, he helped spread the lie that a spontaneous protest over a YouTube video was to blame for this highly organized, premeditated terrorist attack.

Obama’s IRS targeted his political opponents for harassment. Then the agency lied to and stonewalled Congress and likely destroyed subpoenaed evidence, while Obama falsely declared there’s no corruption there, not even a smidgen.

From the VA scandal to his unconstitutional recess appointments, to his DOJ wiretapping reporters and giving guns to Mexican drug cartels, to violating religious freedom exercised by businesses and ignoring in-house illegal fundraising, the list of abuse goes on and on.

Barack Obama’s administration is proving itself a festering boil of scandal. The Constitution is rock solid in holding the president responsible for the executive branch. He can’t just vote “present” while shrugging and feigning ignorance about all these abuses of the public trust, any more than a mob boss can claim innocence because he didn’t personally do the hit. The buck stops with the guy at the top.

Impeachment is the ultimate check on an out-of-control executive branch. It is serious, not to be used for petty partisan purposes; and it is imperative that it becomes a matter of legitimate discussion before the American people lose all trust in our federal government.

Impeachment requires moral courage to advance what is right, and it requires political will. A complacent or disheartened electorate may silently endure these abuses from the administration, the permanent political class is only too happy to maintain the status quo, and the mainstream media is not a fair watchdog. So, the nation’s last line of defense is for We the People to rise up and say, “enough is enough.”

Unfortunately this House has played so many partisan games that an impeachment stands no chance of being considered on its merits. The laundry list in the OP of legitimate and absurd charges does nothing to help the case.

Exactly. Until both houses are "Republican controlled" there's exactly ZERO chance Obama could be removed from office. Impeachment by the House of Representatives is pointless if they know that the Senate won't take the next step.

While I agree with you in regards to Palin and tend to support from a policy standpoint much of what the current president has done, I don't let that blind me to concerns about the growing power of the presidency. Congress needs to assert itself through legislative action (not inaction or lawsuit) to counter that growth.

You and I both know, Billis, the growing power of the presidency did not begin with the election of Obama.  It began a number of years before that.  

And you are right-Congress needs to assert ìtself, not through constant partisan attacks but through bipartisan cooperation.  I do not see that happening any time soon.  So ìn the meantime, ìt will be business as usual-which is no business of and for the people at all.

Some of the scandals in the list are manufactured or not of Pres. Obama's making. Many are real and at least partly attributable to him, however.

The chances of him being impeached are less than or equal to the square root of zero.

For Republicans that consider it an injustice, perhaps save up links to the various "What, Me Worry?", "He's just getting the job done.", and "It's always been this way." posts and then regurgitate them at appropriate times while a Republican executive branch is going apewild.

First off, is there currently a Congressional Declaration of War in place? I am not aware of one. Secondly, my brief ratings on this does seem to indicate that he did not give the legally required notice. One potentially impeachable offense.

This one has some interesting pieces to it. "(G)ot us into a war" - we certainly aren't in a war in a traditional sense so this would be interesting to support as an impeachable offense. An Article of Impeachment for failure to expend more funds at the request of a bureaucrat sounds like it might set a dangerous precedent. On the no rescue attempt charge, would the Senate ask the House to prove that a rescue was possible or would Obama have to prove one wasn't a reasonable option? "(H)elped spread the lie" is another claim that I feel needs more specificate (sp?) before I would found it an impeachable offense or not.

(putting aside my personal feelings that this one is total BS ) Is it enough that this happened at "Obama's IRS" to impeach him for it or does there need to some evidence of his personal involvement?
