A number of years ago, I bought a chain saw. I was going to use it for some of the more challenging shrub trimming. Reading the instructions it seemed like every other sentence in the manual said "mishandling may cause serious injury or death." I must have seen that combination of words in the manual fifty times. Never used it. It would be just my clumsy luck to cut off an arm or leg. I traded it with the guy who does do all my shrub trimming each year for a very reduced trimming fee.

Except for all the places where it said it two sentences in a row, separated by the word, "Seriously".

One day was the water while the other day was in the classroom. When in the classroom, it seems every other sentence was “if you X, you will die”. Let’s say between that and having trouble with the snorkeling equipment, I dropped the class.

taz157 - I flunked my dive test in the lake. Tennesser - I bought a 14 inch chain saw to cut slash branches. I did fall down with it while it was running. It hit my boot and didn't cut it, thankfully. The darn thing kept throwing the chain. I don't know what I did to fix that. Short time later, one of the men in the same company I worked for fell with his chainsaw and got very badly cut.

Knock on wood....have used chain saws for years or been around others using them since we used to cut 2-3 cords of wood for our wood stove every year when living in Ill. No accidents! First hubby had one monster chain saw that was so heavy I could barely pick it up to move it & I wasn't weak in any sense of the word.

I have a regular customer at work who had a chainsaw accident. It went down his arm instead of across it. He spent a year in bandages from shoulder to knuckles. He got MRSA. He did keep the arm and it seems like the fingers still pretty much work even though they still have a swollen look to them. There's big chunk missing out of his forearm.

Glad I swapped it for services rendered.

Great! More useless plastic that we don't need and that will end up in the ocean.
