Call me skeptical, just don't believe this kidnapping has anything to do with receiving ransom money . I'd be thrilled to hear that it did and could be paid .

Others may have said ransom, but that's not what I said - I said "use the students as collateral for monetary gain".
The ransom notion isn't that far-fetched though. As someone mentioned, this was a private school - the parents may very well receive ransom demands.
We really don't know much more at this point.

Here are three links. All are recent. Have the ransoms been paid? Don't know. Governments don't necessarily admit paying ransoms. One family is working on raising the money to pay the demanded ransom. The last article is very informative with regard to in what countries this is a major problem. |

Yes, mmhmm it says "ransom" in Tenn's link - but no mention of ransom being demanded was in Shooby's. Her link mentioned selling the students as brides to Islamic Boko Haram militants.

I think the thread title should be changed to reflect what the subject matter is. I reluctantly opened it thinking OMG, here we go again - the arguments, and "logic" always fascinate me.
In any event, I think they kidnappers should be advised that if they don't turn over the kids immediately, law enforcement/military (whatever) will swoop in and kill every single one of them. They should be further advised that, upon fulfilling that promise, their dead bodies shall be covered in pig blood and left in open trenches to rot.
I would try the ransom routine first of course but these pieces of carp are so crazy......

Why change the title? We get titles like this all the time and very often it has little to do with the subject even. At least she is on topic. Not just spewing hate for the rich or for people who own guns.
