DOW, NASDAQ, S&P500 are all at record highs at the close. The Russell, and Transport indexes are up, Utility index is down due to higher interest rates on bonds.
WTI and Brent are rising again, not sure if it stays up or falls in a week or so but gasoline is flat. NG not doing much even though we are facing an early heating season across the country. Metals are down slightly due to interest rates.
Grain commodities are down slightly regardless of rumors of China trade friction lessoning.
OJ reached $100 and not sure why. Florida citris is recovering strongly from Hurricane Irma and production  is up. The juice processors locked three year contracts with foreign orange producers due to fear of bad crops in Florida due to damage from Irma and do not need the extra juice oranges this year or next. Florida growers reported they may have to leave some Orange fruit on the ground rather than harvesting all of it as they do not have enough contracts for the product.
Lean hogs up a bit, and I think that is due to thoughts we might settle trade with China. This did not follow through with the grain commodities....

DOW, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 continue to set record highs this week.
The oil complex is showing some life. WTI up $5.69 in two weeks, Brent up $3.31,  rrob up nine cents per gal, heating oil up 13 cents a gallon.
Bitcoin continues to be weak. Since China tightened up letting their citizens play in bitcoin, it has been on a downward slide.

FYI this thread started almost nine years ago in January 2011. I started this thread to discuss commodities and over the years expanded it to stock indexes, more commodities , the ten yr bond and some currencies.
Look where the stock indexes are today almost nine years later.
Also note where some of the commodities were at compared to today.

In later posts I will compare some of the increases or decreases that have happened.
I hope some younger posters see this and understand how you can increase your portfolio return just by keeping an eye on other indexes and commodities that might affect stocks that you own or are interested in possibly owning.

I liked following the oil and gasoline as well as the gold and silver prices. I'm not too interested in the others. It's remarkable what the 10-yr treasury has been doing but I don't really have a clue how to use it.
