The Cardinals are sucking pickles! I think they miss Beltran more than they thought they would.

The O's lost 3 of 4 to the worst team in baseball this weekend! I'm currently not on speaking terms with them.

Yes I'm a Redbird fan. I grew up in St. Louis. This has been a strange season so far. Sanity is not prevailing.

Several of my friend are wishing that Machado's suspension had been over the weekend when they sucked anyway.

Several of my friend are wishing that Machado's suspension had been over the weekend when they sucked anyway. The timing of the ruling was suspect. They waited until after the Tampa Bay series so he would be out against Texas and Boston.
I'm a big Manny fan, but he deserved the suspension. Hopefully, lesson learned.

I'm thinking a pretty big trade is looming that should give us a shot! I agree that if they get a key piece or two they will be in good shape. Unfortunately, we are playing Oakland next. I hope they decide to start losing then.
Jeter received a very nice ovation at the All-Star game. Trout is pretty darned good! Good job AL!

Oakland's tough. Their starting pitching is unreal. If they put up 3+ runs, it's tough to beat them.
The O's should be able to put up at least 3 runs, so it'll be a good series.
(Also, you're welcome for the Adam Jones, Chris Tillman et al trade for Bedard. That killed us.)

We tend to hit better against better pitchers, so I'm hoping for 2 of 3, even though I know that is a tall order.
Lmao! That was one of the best trades ever for us. If only they could all be that good. Thanks!
We signed Jimenez this offseason for $50 million and he stinks! Not only does he stink, he just fell in a pothole in a parking lot and sprained his ankle. At least he can't walk batters while on the DL.
What do you guys need?

famcfo-
Bats. RH bats specifically. A starting pitcher would be nice too.
I really wish we had signed Cruz last offseason. Rumor has it we offered him a nice little chunk of cash, but he just didn't want to play here. Bummer, as we'd REALLY be in good shape.
My guess is you'll win the East. NY will putter out, and Boston isn't very good. Toronto might be your biggest competition, but I don't think their steroids will hold up.

I'm really hoping we win the East, but we have a lot of flaws. We need a starting pitcher too...and for Chris Davis to be Chris Davis again and not Mr.A.O (automatic out).
Cruz was hands down, the bargain of the season for us. Who else is out there that bats right handed?
I'm praying we miss King Felix in the rotation when we play you guys.

Both bay area teams are kicking ass this season. Awesome! I wouldn't mind going to another World Series victory parade.

No guarantees on that parade though.

"We" always talk about how the West Coast trips are brutal. I always had more trouble traveling east; worse jet lag.

Year after year, the Mariners (and Seahawks) always rank #1 in miles traveled. And then the league always manages to give us just brutal road trips.
Thanks a lot MLB!

"We" always talk about how the West Coast trips are brutal. I always had more trouble traveling east; worse jet lag. We had to face the best team in baseball (Oakland), followed by the second best team (Angels), then on to play Seattle, who is pretty darned good with some great pitching. So it is more about the quality of the teams rather than the location.
That is my definition of brutal.
We are now .500 on this road trip, that is not acceptable!

Dear Boston Red Sox,
I know you are a bad team, but you could have at least pretended to try against the Blue Jays.
Thanks for nothing,

I was thinking the same thing chiver78. Have to wonder if some trades might backfire. If it ain't broke don't fix it but then I'm not an owner/manager. Just a fan

honestly, last year's WS-winning team was a fluke that fed off the city's energy. or, more accurately, Big Papi's energy when he declared "this is OUR FUCKING CITY!" and it was exactly what we needed last year. the Bruins went a little farther than expected before losing in the Cup finals, then the Sox went way farther than anyone thought after the prior year's disaster. this year's team is the same team, without the driving force of picking up a city and region. I've said a few places online today - this team absolutely needed to be blown up. I hope we got more in return than what we gave away.

The Marlins get "nothing" for Price and the Cardinals give up a starting outfielder and a starting pitcher for Lackey! (There has to be more there than meets the eye....in both cases.)
