You have to buy replacements and sneak them into the laundry. Even DF who is the GOODWILL shoppers dream because all of his stuff is high quality has underwear that your mom would cry over if you got into an accident! So I buy new and then just toss the old and wash the new and put in drawer. . If he notices, which is unlikely, he says nothing.

My mom told me to do this ages ago, especially for men's underwear. They will wear it until it rots off their body. She says just throw it out and replace it with new that you wash. They'll never know. I swear every week I see hubs' old underwear in the trash, but I certainly don't see him running out and buying more! Also, this thread is doing nothing but making me want to buy more clothes. I do need to purge some more pre-weight loss items (it has been two years, so it's safe) and I'll have empty, lonely hangers! I have to pack for our trip to Aruba on Sunday. Thank god I'll need all summer clothes! That will save room. At least DH throws his old underwear away. My DH will have 3 threads holding together the crotch of his boxer briefs and he still tries to wear them! Also... BRAGGART! ;D Sent from my Nexus 4 using proboards

I'm packing for a trip to Italy. 16 days. I have 3 core pieces, skirt, jacket, and pants. Tops and scarves/jewelry to change out the looks. I'm doing 4 paid of shoes, all black. I was trying for 3 but threw in some sandals. I'm taking other pieces, of course but my theme is going to be black and white with some color mixed in. Bought a dress at Nordstrom rack yesterday and some black flats that are even more comfy than the ones I was going to take. The dress is a print so will hide stains but also a wash and wear kinda dress. So I'm doing a capsule for my trip. I want to look stylish but I don't want to pack a lot of stuff. DF is a huge packer and its going to be fun to see him try to fit everything into one bag! Have a wonderful wih DF in such a wonderful country !!

I have nothing but the Joy Mangano hangers. I've bought them from HSN when they were having a super sale on them. At the time, they were offering free shipping and NO sales tax. I love love love them!!!!!

As you guys are cleaning out your closets I've been filling mine. And thanks to those links some of you posted I just found new places to shop on the internet. Woo Hoo!! I mean, dammit! Now I have to buy more hangers. Hey Zib - Will any of your cast offs fit me? You can take a road trip (after your trip to Italy) in your snazzy new convertible to where it's sunny and gorgeous. Just sayin'! And I just bought some cute jeans from Lands' End that were depicted in one of those pictures. Holy Cow! They not only show you cute outfits but then show you were you can buy the pieces! I'm really in trouble now. I have spring fever BAD! But my new jeans are on sale for only $18.99 and if I buy 3 pairs I get free shipping. Woot! Now I just need some new belts. I'll throw my old ones out to stay on topic a bit.

We had an appt. today @ 11AM. My capsule wardrobe produced: light khaki pants, ivory sheer knee highs with cream colored flats. Ivory mock turtle neck with a red wool vest. Necklace was a favorite of wood/green/red/burnished gold along with burnished gold earrings. And finally a Coach bag.

OK now I need someone to come to my house to help me go through my closet! I did a purge when I found a bunch of clothes that I had packed away in an old trunk but I think I still need to get rid of some stuff.

I'm your person. I seem to be able to tell other people what looks good and what doesn't on them but for myself, I see myself differently than I really am. I'm a work in progress!

At the age of 69.5 I should be finished. Unfortunately, I still need a lot of work.....as does my closet.
