At the gas station nearest our house, the price for regular unleaded is $3.65. I checked online and there are at least a half-dozen other gas stations in the area at the same price. (We're in central California)
Yikes.
How are prices where you are?

$3.20 in So Indiana. It will just keep going up. Nothing you can do about it. Either buy it or don't. Go to work or don't. I like to think that we only paid the van off early so we can continue to buy the gas for work. It really has nothing to do with getting a head or anything.

$3.07 on my way to work (Indianapolis) this morning, $3.36 on the way home... except for the two Circle K stations I passed, who must not have received the price-gouging memo. Filled up for $2.97 using my $0.10 Kroger discount. Sadly my car only has an 11-gallon tank and I was already half-full! Judging from the reaction on my Facebook newsfeed, most people weren't expecting it.

Paid $3.81 last night for Premium (San Diego). The pump automatically shuts off I guess at $75 (probably what they pre-auth the CC for), so I didn't even get a full tank.

And you don't hear much in the news yet ... I think this is not all that bad, it will make people conserve a little more again. It's around $3.50 here.

I'm not looking forward to this summer as things seem to be picking up which is going to increase the demand for fuels.

Hubby paid $1.159/litre yesterday for gas - that works out to about $4.39/gallon, assuming our dollars are equal We're in Ontario, Canada - a good chunk of the difference is probably just tax

I did see on the news this morning that some stations are still down around $2.94 and the highest I've seen so far is $3.09. I'm in Central VA.

And you don't hear much in the news yet ... I think this is not all that bad, it will make people conserve a little more again. It's around $3.50 here. I do not know how to conserve any more. All our driving that we do is to and from work. On the weekend we may drive to the grocery store and back, which is the opposite direction of going to work, so its not like we can just stop on the way home from work. Other than quitting work, I do not know how we can use less fuel in our vehicles.

The last time I filled up was for about $2.97/gallon, but that was well over a week ago.

I agree that we can't affect the price. We can only affect our consumption. Hopefully good habits like carpooling and driving reasonable cars will resurface.

Gas was $3.09 on Monday but I think it's gone up here in SE Wisconsin. We were just talking about it at lunch and we're expecting to have $4+ gas again.
