You get to pick *1* person to help you with your life free of charge (this is YM, after all). Who do you need MOST?
1. Chef. Will cook dinner every night and on the weekends. Enough for leftovers for lunch the next day, too. Cleans up after themselves.
2. Maid. Cleans, dusts, mops, and gets rid of the dust bunnies. Does windows and that stuff on the roof of the microwave.
3. Yard Guy (Gal). Snow shoveling, leaf raking, pool maintenance, lawn mowing, whatever. Wears little to no clothing in good weather.
4. Personal assistant. Grocery shopping, bill paying, takes dogs to vet, etc.
5. Personal spa person. Gives back rubs, manicures, and blow outs anytime.
6. Laundry helper. Washes, dries, folds, irons, and takes stuff to the dry cleaner. Also sews on missing buttons and hems jeans (original hem, of course).
YOU ONLY GET TO PICK ONE!!!! __________________________________________________________________________________________
Me: I need the personal assistant. I need someone to do all those little annoying tasks that I never seem to have time to do... and time IS money.

#1 if someone did that I'd have time to do the rest of the stuff.

I want someone to cook healthy, calorie controlled food for me because otherwise I eat what's yummy. Ditto. Plus by the time I get home from work- it's hard to get motivation to cook. I do it because I have to, but it's far from inspired.

Probably the personal chef. Since I live in an apartment, I don't have a yard. The exterior stuff is already taken care of by the apartment staff. Doing laundry isn't that bad, since it's just me. Just separate lights from darks, toss it in, and run the machine. A personal assistant is tempting, especially since they grocery shop, but paying bills and stuff doesn't take up too much time. Most of the cleaning that has to be done is in the kitchen or the bathroom, at least for me. So a chef that cleans up after themselves is a bit redundant with a maid.
The only downside to a personal chef is I'd really have to step it up in the grocery shopping department. But we all have to make sacrifices.

Chef, please. If I had tasty, nutritious meals magically appear every day at no cost and with no effort from me, I could conquer the world. Or at least the other mundane details of my life.

I'd have to go with #5. The girls have the rest covered Yeah. I'd go with #5, too. Except in my case, DH covers 1, 3, 4, and 6.

I like being #1 (chef, like others). I already have #2 and #3 in my life. I don't mind being #4. DH is #6. So like Later, that leaves me with #5 . [ps: #'s 2 and 3 are not free ]

I don't mind cooking but when I come home after being gone for 13-14 hours, it is the last thing I want to do. Even my quick things seem to take a hour from start to finish.
I do okay with the random errands because I have every other Friday off. Without that I'd be in trouble. I also benefit from having a post office in my work building.
ETA: I don't do #3 due to bad grass, tree and pollen allergies. As for laundry, that's the benefit of a $1.99 dry cleaner.

Maid service!! If I didn't have to "undo" the messes that the dog, DH & DS do to the house, I'd have HOURS more of time to do other things. Bring on the maid!

Someone needs to get on inventing that fabricator (or whatever it's called) from Star Trek. You know, that thing that conjurs into being anything you can program into it.

Maid.
Maid.
Maid.
No question. Of all the things listed, the cleaning BS takes more time than any other and unfortunately it's the thing I hate the most.

I HATE cooking. I detest it more than any of the other things on the list and while I won't suffer too much if I put the other things on hold until "tomorrow", I have to eat every day.

I'd go with #1 - but with a couple of extras - the chef will menu plan meals to help me loose and then maintain my wieght, will grocery shop, and then do all the cooking/cleaning.
I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time and energy (physical and emotional) on "food" these days.

Chef!!! I used to cook all the time but I babysit for a friend during the week and adding that on top of my four year old at home I don't feel like cooking dinner much anymore. Although any one of those services would be awesome!

One of the advantages of my life right now is that I have the opportunity to figure out what I want to make for dinner and cook it, with someone else here to eat it. My biggest problem is trying to time it such that dinner gets done when TD gets home from work. I'd probably go with a maid since you don't have anyone listed who will unpack boxes.

I'd have to go with #5. The girls have the rest covered I should talk. I have cleaning ladies AND a yard guy. If I had to give one up, then I'd want to keep the cleaning ladies. I cannot handle the chemicals and it's not fair to expect DH to do it all.

chef. maids are too cheap, comparatively. why waste a freebee on that? Because I cook better than most chefs and I know how to make tasty, healthy food (unlike many chefs.) Plus, I don't really mind cooking all that much.
Scrubbing the house on the other hand, I hate with a burning passion.

I loathe laundry but it's an every 2 weeks thing (I take care of my own, DH does his plus household stuff), so I definitely have to go with the maid. Even with just me, DH & one cat the cleaning is endless! (actually, we can probably blame the cat )

That is a valid reason. I still think the cost benefit is no comparison. The chef is the better deal.

#2 Maid. Most definitely maid. I'm already thinking about paying for one.
#6 I thought about laundry but then noticed the person doesn't put away laundry, which is the part I hate most. I can't sew, but going to my friend who can is actually a great excuse for her and I to get together.
#1 C is a better cook than most and enjoys it. I could not deprive him of that pleasure. #3 I find doing yard work rather zen, so need to keep that for myself. #4 C and I grocery shop together, it's like a mini-date. I'm too anal to trust someone else to pay the bills, and my dogs are too important to let someone else see to their care. #5 I happen to love my massage therapist. She is worth every penny, and while massage on demand would be nice, I do have a husband for that, and it's not the every day thing cleaning is
