Its not Obama- Palin, Its Obama - McCain Biden - Palin. Iwill take a senator like McCain with his experience over one like Obama any day ( Mr Obama how do you vote...Present). I would take someone Like Palin ( who has fought for her people not just herself or special interest-I'm sure she could have brokered a deal for herself if she was corrupt) Over a liberal like Biden any day. McCain has alot of people worried about his age.... Looks alot better than I would if I had his schedule for the last few months and I'm 20yrs younger.

Seachange -- it might interest you to know, that in Genesis the very first thing that was created was light. This used to confuse my as a child because the sun and the stars were not created until later. I once asked my husband who has a master in Organic Chemistry what fire was made of. he said it didn't have a chemical composition, it was just energy. A pretty advanced concept and correct from Physics perspective for guy writing over 6000 years ago. Maybe the force you believe in is the original light without mass, around which creation is formed. May you find the true Light of this world.

Last time I check Revelations was still part of the Bible.
I just find it humorous that apparently it's ok to say your a "christian" as long as you don't actually believe in what the bible says. Can't you see the irony of this?

I don't know about demons, but I wish that guy could have tossed out my ex for me.
As far as the whole end of the world thing goes, it was a revelation. Besides, it says that only God the Father knows when it will be, not the angels, not even the son. Anyone who tries to guess the time will be dissappointed. So why worry about that. Sounds to me like it would happen when it was least expected, not when everyone is thinking it will. If it does.
Honestly if someone is doing a good job in office, I'm not going to worry what religion they are-unless they happen to be Satanists, I have to draw the line at that. The press should keep their noses out of the houses of worship. Next they will be going to the candidate's kids schools and sit in on the parent/teacher conferences or something.

Well I don't know then..because Sir Isaac Newton believed he was a Christian but didn't think very highly of the corruption that was called the bible, where a lot of what was included or excluded was determined by committee. Btw..revelations had nothing to do with the current era and was written for the Ancient Roman era, when they as a civilization abandoned polytheism for monotheism. They needed a strong story to scare the masses to give up their old pagan ways and adopt the new religion.
What you have to understand is the teachings of Jesus, and get rid of the politics of the era.
If you want to belong to a church within the Christian religion, why don't you become a Catholic. At least they teach evolution in their schools and the new Pope has declared God to be love, which is far better than the "you are all going to hell" dogma and the brim and firestone of the past. IOW, they have adopted some modernity.
And we seriously need some modern leaders and not some ego driven weirdo's stuck in the past.

That is what is so great about America- you can choose your beliefs and not everyone has to agree with you.

All of you Christians here are totally misled and don’t see God’s plan. What this nation really needs is CHANGE from person that an ex-Muslim Marxist that is married to a woman that thinks America is a hateful place, a person that is closely aligned with a black-centric minister that damns America, a person that associates with an anti-Semite that spews hate every time he opens his mouth, a person who worked and associated with an avowed and unrepentant terrorist whose only regret it not killing more people. Can’t you see this is God’s gift to America? After that person is elected and his CHANGE implemented, you’ll pray a lot more frequently than you do now. God works in mysterious ways!

And I personally do not want anyone running for office that believes this garbage. The theory of evolution is a joke. If we came from apes then why are there still apes and why are they not standing upright and walking out of the forest daily? After all now is when they would be in greatest need to evolve as they are losing there habitat and food sources. I have never heard a plausible explanation for this and will not believe until I do. Not to mention what about all of the other animals out there? Now I do believe in survival of the fittest but that is not the same as evolution.

Why do you seek fulfillment from Obama/Biden? Are we not responsible for plotting our own way through life? You seem to be anxiously awaiting with hand outstretched for you manna. Is that not enslavement? IMO yes it is.

Yes, I think that is an excellent observation..the light or energy of life and I would agree. And it might be of interest to you that the first Adam lived in heaven, that is he was a spiritual being, and not on earth and then God created a physical body for him out of dirt and that place was the garden of eden. I also think that the serpent that tempted eve was nothing more than the manifestation of their egos. Their egos created the serpent, that led them astray and to original sin.
The way you reconnect with God is to give up your ego and live in the present moment. You then use the gifts of the present moment to experience well being and as those moments end, they then become your memories, history and your past. Your future is the unfolding of non stop gifting which are then opportunities for more creative experiences. And in this way we become more creative and more abundant. Part of our creative power and gifts, will be the power to prevent natural catastrophes. Those negative experiences are simply opportunities for growth, learning and mastery.

Seachange -- I agree with you. Jesus described that as a dying to self. It was along the lines of "unless a seed fall to the ground and dies, it remains but a seed." I want to thank you for putting your beliefs out there when you were sure to get blasted. I respect you for that. The traditions of fasting and abstinence sprang from the beliefs that by putting to the death the desires of the flesh, it would open you up to the spiritual.

Because I too have had to learn the lesson to give up the tyranny of my ego. And also because most of the world is still driven by ego demands and constraints. While I may be more harmonious with my environment, most of the world remains in dissonance. Especially with fundamental Jews, Christians and Muslims declaring that they are the chosen ones and the world must follow them and adopt their ways. Thus human misery will always remain while these people remain in power.

See you don't understand the theory..it's not about the fittest at all..it's all about the best adaptation to the environment. New creatures are constantly being created from the old.
And when I get my Intel I7 Core based computer with 16 processors and capable of doing 6 Billion transfers per second, there will never be another human being that will be smarter or faster than me in any intellectual endeavor. And like the 6 gun of the wild west which became known as the great equalizer, my computer enhancement will elevate me to the top of the heap in terms of the power to adapt quickly. At that juncture, I don't need a king to rule over me as the king will be dumb and slow will only be in the way. What will be important then is how I connect and collaborate with everyone else and how we then mutually satisfy our needs and control our environment to shape our evolution.
So it's clear that the neanderthals should not be in charge of a homo sapient populated world, even if they have a larger muscle mass and a bigger rib cage with low hairy brows to boot..

Captains of Industy also contribute greatly to the evolution of humanity. And for that we can all be thankful too, if they keep humanity as part of their mindfullness.
But see this is where your old beliefs cloud your vision. It is never about me or our egos. It is always about what God wants to create or manifest from the unmanifested because of his love for us. And once you awaken to that connection, everything then becomes possible. Selflessness can bring forth great abundance.
And do you really want to sacrifice so some banker can take home another $5 million, or some Ceo can get another billion dollar defense contract, or Saudi Arabia can earn another $200 billion?
I don't think so...so it's time to use our judgment.

You've got the competition part down, but you didn't get the cooperation part of it where 20 humans armed with sharp sticks can bring down a 10 ton mammoth. Being strong and fit is meaningless and you've said nothing about the power of artificial selection where change can come rapidly because that change does not rely on natural forces. Humans can shape their own environment and often do so.
When the masses wake up to the lies they've been told....poof game over.
Let me repeat.....GAME OVER!

Speaking as an impartial person here.....
I don't buy into any of your religions. I think Jesus was fabulous, but don't believe him to be any more the son of god than any other human on earth. He was in tune with the true nature of things as are all great philosophers. Withcraft, don't care. Muslim is ok with me.
All are fine as long as they are not focused on imposing their religious views on my life, or violating any one elses personal rights as per their religious ideology. They are ok with me for any political office in the land as long as they do not intend to pursue a religious agenda, but to enforce the law of the land, i.e. the protection of individuals freedoms. They can go home at the end of the day and practice whatever it is that floats their boat, just leave me to do the same......

When I took logic as my mandatory Philosophy course in college, I remember them talking about "straw men". If you cannot win against the actual opponent, create a caricature of them and fight against that. I feel like this is what they do with Christianity. They take a whole belief system that their whole culture was based on and hold it up to ridicule. The Christian west has made the most advances in science, art, architecture, and medicine. The only reason we know about the Greek and Roman cultures was because the monks painstakingly copied the Greek and the Latin texts year after year. When the Vandals, Goths and Vikings were ravaging Europe burning those libraries to the ground, the Irish monks held to their duty. Just about everything we know about our past is due to those monks. The architectural and engineering acheivements of the Middle Ages that continue to inspire today were taught in Church run universities. The search for medicines in plants sprung from the scriptures that God created plants for our healing. That basic faith and belief led to intensive searches for a medicine that they believe God created for any disease.
To see us portrayed as ignorant, uneducated, unscientific people with beliefs akin to the idol worshippers who believed in gods of their own making, ignores everything of Christian history and belief. It is a straw man.

Katlab, you're a bit biased there.
Don't forget about the spanish inquisition and the suppression of such facts as the copernican theory which galileo espoused, but was censured for.
There is no reason for me to buy into christianity any more than Wiccanism....they're the same to me. Just someone else belief system which may have some validity somewhere, but I'm just not motivated to explore it. I just don't care.
Most people need one of these as a crutch, or to filter life's experiences through to give it meaning, or for whatever reason they think it's important.
But understand,
It's not important to me.
And I'm fine with any of my elected officials belonging to any type of religious group.
Just keep it out your politics, keep it out of the laws, protect the rights of the individuals, and that's fine.
