She was shot and killed. No politicians were harmed in this shooting. Are the devils we know better than the devils we don't know? You kind of have to be pretty crazy to run for any political office so I can't help but wonder if things will ever change. We'd probably just vote in more crazy because that's all that is offered. Even the one's that start out with big ideas to correct the status quo find out they are up against a brick wall until they too play the games that are currently being played. I watched the video on the news today - she was definitely using her vehicle as a weapon, the way she was ramming into the gate, and then accelerating/backing-up repeatedly in order to get back onto the 'circle' drive and dodging police vehicles who were in pursuit, trying to stop her.
It amazes me they didn't immediately set up a patrol-car barricade in front of the gate - as well as across the circle so she'd be forced to stop or crash.
Sad that she had her child in the car - and put that child in danger of being killed (or seriously injured) as well.

SHe was shot dead because she was using her car to ram cops and then tearing away. Were do they get the barricade to stop her ASAP? And they need one strong enough to stop her because she already rammed one. And can you shoot out a tire when the adrenaline is pumping and you're running? |

Sad, but they shoot to kill. It was the right thing to do. No it was not. There we disagree. She already tried to run over one officer with her car and sent him to the hospital. She crashed a barricade. What would you want, them to wait until she killed someone? Even if they did manage to shoot out a tire there's no surety that she would stop driving and not hit/kill someone else. |

Seriously, how many deaths and injuries are attributed to yesterday's slaughtered driver?
I think playing fast and loose with Deadly Force is a BAD mistake, Deadly Force should be a Last Resort.

They should be shot too! But I agree that her shooting was justified in this case. Especially when she's endangering a one year old along with everybody else. Had she stopped when the cops surrounded her car she'd still be alive. She chose to speed away hurting officers and going on a high speed chase where civilians could have also been hurt. There is no way the cops could know she was mentally ill. They see crazy every day. That's usually why they (the perps) do the stupid shit they do! And cops should not have to risk their lives to ask them "Excuse me, mam. Are you a regular wacko or do you suffer from depression?". A vehicle can be used as a weapon so not having a gun is irrelevant. |

Shooting 15 rounds into a car was also endangering the one year old....she was lucky to be unhurt.
As for the White House....there are marksmen on every floor. The occupants were never in any danger.
Just think it would have been better to have a different ending. Women get over post natal depression.... and the child could have still had her mum.
