azcapitoltimes.com/news/2013/08/21/arizona-sheriff-joe-arpaio-armed-militias-beware-or-be-shot/ Malley emerged from the darkness with his rifle raised “yelling commands,” according to the probable cause statement. The deputy, illuminated by Malley’s flashlight at this point, identified himself as law enforcement, pointing out the “word sheriff across his chest,” and ordered Malley to drop his weapon. “You aren’t taking my weapons,” replied Malley, who was armed with a semi-automatic rifle, a .45 caliber handgun and a knife, according to court records Malley claimed “he had the right to point his rifle at the individual because he had reasonable suspicion to believe a crime was occurring,” according to the probable cause statement. He identified himself as a “militia Minuteman.” “I have to commend my deputy for not killing this person, which easily could have happened,” Arpaio said. “He’s lucky he didn’t see 30 rounds fired into him.” So these guys roam the border playing cop and think they have the 'right' to give commands and point their guns at 'suspects'. By George, Zimmerman ( ) might have a career opportunity after all

Increase taxes to pay for enough professional boots on the ground to secure the border for crying out loud. Promise not to misappropriate the revenue from new taxes to some pork project instead of enough professional boots on the ground to secure the border for crying out loud.

Yes, we need to secure that border better; however, that's not just a matter of saying "Let's do it!" There's more involved. It's going to cost a bundle to get any kind of security on that border, and nothing is going to be completely effective. Whatever is done is going to cost money. Manpower, fences - whatever is done isn't going to come free. Soooo...

A price like that is a gift. But do you think the US federal government would listen to me?

LOL! Probably not, Virgil. Heck, I don't think "they" listen to anybody. Even if they tried, the repetitive drone of "Feed me!" coming from their wallets would drown out any complaints.

Citizens are putting their own lives in jeopardy. It will end badly for some of them- either the police are going to kill one of them or some drug cartel will make an example with a chainsaw. That's their choice to make.

What on earth am I supposed to do with $35M worth of landmines? if you know what's good for Canada in the next 50 years, put them on your southern border.

Citizens are putting their own lives in jeopardy because the federal govt is shirking it's duty. redeploy some of our far flung military The military is not to be used for domestic law enforcement, per the Posse Comitatus Act, without congressional approval. Domestic matters such as this are delegated to the National Guard. There are exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act; however, armed forces personnel actively participating in guarding that border doesn't fall within them.

... The military is not to be used for domestic law enforcement, ... And Egypt is a good example of why it should stay that way.

Terrible suggestions. Land mines usually just blow snow leopards into two chunks, and each chunk turns into a smaller snow leopard. (Those things are evil, I'm telling you.) And as for mining the Canada/US border, I'm not sure I'd ever get used used to the "thump!" followed by deer and raccoon carcasses briefly sailing over the treeline.

Individuals crossing the border between this country and Mexico in various places, and at various times, does not constitute an invasion, Value Buy.

Promise not to misappropriate the revenue from new taxes to some pork project instead of enough professional boots on the ground to secure the border for crying out loud. Sheriff Joe miss used $99 million to go after illegals, in the process failed to investigate over 400 sex crimes, some against children.

Too many folks have their own agendas and that always takes first place in priorities. Meanwhile, other very important things go begging.

I'm confused.....what does this have to do with Florida? It doesn't have to be.....somehow EVT will make it about Florida and SYG, this is his current MO along with most left causes Just like WCP is always about blowhard pro entrepreneur posts (don't be a wage slave don't you know) and pro right wing posts and is always "predicting" the future (I am wondering when he will start a psychic friends hotline already) With some posters you already know what they are going to say before they even say it and what they say is usually always right, no matter what, even if you present clear concrete evidence to the contrary (on both sides- left or right) they typically will not cede your point. It's rather unfortunate but it is just a reflection of society -which is even more unfortunate.

Individuals crossing the border between this country and Mexico in various places, and at various times, does not constitute an invasion, Value Buy. A reasonable person would say, a thousand illegals does not constitute an invasion. A reasonable person would say, ten thousand illegals does not constitute an invasion. A reasonable person would say, a hundred thousand illegals does not constitute an invasion. A reasonable person would say a million illegals, constitutes one hell of a problem. A reasonable person would say ten million illegals constitutes an invasion.

... I understand full well why the army is not allowed to do domestic security/ policing, and agree 110%. Guarding the border doesn't seem to fall under quite the same catagory. What is problematic though, is the cross training. They are trained to kill, not apprehend. If we have the manpower in the DOD sitting around that we could just shift to guarding the border, why don't we just reduce the size of the military and use that money for hiring border patrol?

Bingo. www.mrconservative.com/2013/08/23087-border-enforcement-officials-ordered-to-not-enforce-immigration-laws/When the executive orders agents not to enforce the law, and instead sends paramilitary equipped troop-equivalent 'police' officers in pursuit of the citizens whose rights they're charged with protecting- I'd say the cop is lucky HE didn't catch 30 rounds.

Bingo's ass- these were not border agents. These 'police' officers were looking to bust drug smugglers and ran into some stupid goofball roaming around in the dark with a weapon. Maybe if you spent a little less time reading 'mrconservative.com' or listening to the fat idiot on the radio you would know the facts here. Almost sounds like you would have supported the shooting of a police officer- that right? Mayby you should look into joining up with a local militia or sovereign citizen group- a lot of your posts lately fit right in with their ideology.

• Under a section labeled “Extremist Ideologies” the document states, “In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements. The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples So- according to Beck our founding fathers are just like the confederates. If you listen to Beck- you might be an extremist. SPLC is a great organization shining a light on this kind of bullshit. Of course you would have a problem. I knew you were that way for a while now- so when are you taking up arms and joining the club?
