there is one woman on my FB friends list who's about to get unfriended/hidden. I usually scroll past most of her stuff, but she likes to go on and on about how she stays at home with her two little boys and STILL manages to clean the house daily, work full time from home, and put a nice dinner on the table for her husband every day. Oh, my personal favorite was how she didn't understand how people say that parenting is the hardest thing they've had to do because it's just so freaking easy - I mean she's had SOOOO many more difficult obstacles to overcome in her life than parenting two young kids... You can easily just skip over my posts if you don't like them... Sweetie, posting video of your son finally mastering popping the cork on your wine is not exactly what Jen is talking about...those I AM jealous...damn 12 year old still can't do it

I don't go on FB to see depressing posts. I want to read about the good stuff in people's lives. I hate the Debbie Downers. They get unfriended quickly. I post about the happy things in my life and try to seek the same in friends. I like to celebrate the highlights of life - theirs and mine. It's also a good way for me to keep family in far away lands in the loop about DS and our little family. FB allowed me to reconnect with a lot of friends from HS and college. We now get together more often and have dinner, play dates, etc. Isn't that what social networking is about? I hate Debbie Downers and those that feel that they need to audition for Jerry Springer on their FB. I deleted a few people recently because I got tired of reading all their baby daddy drama (several children with several baby daddies), their new wife drama (posting all kinds of bad/threatening things to the new wife of their baby daddy...even though the new wife isn't on their FB to read it...). I also do not like those who post negative things about their exs on their FB....especially when they are friends with their children ON FB and the kids can possibly read it. I am sure people hate reading my posts on FB. I post a lot of nonsense stuff, goofy stuff, food pictures, the trips we are taking (which are NOT going on CC thank you very much!). Is my life perfect? Nope. I have the grace of a drunk monkey in a china shop (I post about my mishaps too). I have days I want to choke the shit out of my husband and kids. I have good days, bad days, and just plain WTF days. I try to post about the good and the goofy in my life and leave out the bad. There is enough bad in the news, I don't need to highlight the bad on my FB. My stance is that if people don't like what I post, they have my blessing to hide me or unfriend me. ETA: I have posted about death when I lost my friend here and I occasionally will post something about missing him and wishing he was here to see/experience such and such with me. But for the most part I try to keep my posts upbeat.

People who brag on facebook are nothing more than attention-seeking whores. I mean, it's great if your life is going well, but if you feel the need to throw it out there with the intent of gathering accolades and affirmation from a bunch of pseudo-strangers, then you are the poster child for insecurity. It's my opinion that personal information (good or bad) should be doled out on a need-to-know basis, and facebook never needs to know. Also, messageboards. I don't go on FB to see depressing posts. I want to read about the good stuff in people's lives. Weak. I wanna see drama, and lots of it. Keeps the popcorn fresh.

I had an acquaintance post a picutre of a $25K check from winning the lottery. All I could think is what a freaking moron. Now every one of your 100+ "friends" now is aware of all the extra cash burning a hole in your pocket.

There was an episode of Judge Judy (my guilty pleasure ) where some guy posted pictures of himself holding a ton of cash. The person he owed money to brought the pictures to court. Then you have these crazy ass people who commit crimes and then actually post the evidence on FB. People are freaking dumb asses

Oh damn you mean when my friend sent me the pic of him with that $300,000 Powerball check I was supposed to ask him for money? Damn Dani shredding all the memos around here. I have no idea if he put it on FB or not. I'm not FB friends with him.

I tend to primarily post humorous things. I don't post pictures of food (except to post a picture of the asparagus left on DS' plate since he refused to eat it with a funny comment).
To be honest knock on wood here but there really isn't a lot of drama in my day to day life. My husband is going back to college next week so there is a little bit of a pinch paying for the tuition up front and waiting to be reimbursed by his employer but that's pretty much the biggest drama in my world.
I married my husband when I was 21 he is my baby's daddy. My baby is a well adjusted 15 year old who is both a major smart ass and one of the funniest people I know.
I do ignore/scroll right on past the religious posts and the posts for one nutjob that is forever going on and on about the 2nd amendment and needing to drink after work, etc.
I do follow Richard Dawkins, George Taki, and The Global Secular Humanist so I imagine when I "like" posts by them it may show up on my feed and annoy people but that's about it.

But I neeeeeeed it. I have a person on fb whose posts I read for hilarity purposes, because they are so ridiculously self-aggrandizing - and because of the constant duckface. I ended up unfriending a couple of real downers; not because people aren't allowed to have their issues, but because we were not really "friends" and I felt bad about the sad drama of their lives just being out there for my viewing enjoyment. When it became entertainment I figured I just needed to remove it. I just post a few pictures of my pets and the random vacation photo, and "like" other people's posts from time to time. My facebook friends probably think I am incredibly boring and have no life. They might be right!

imawino- With him it's literally every single day of "I hate my life, I hate my job, want to shoot everyone, must drink booze". Every single day. Worst part is he is a cop so that makes me a little on the nervous side to tell you the truth. He'll get mad about his So Cal. commute and facebook about going on his own "natural selection" rampage while sitting in traffic. I'm friends with his super lazy SAH wife- kids are in high school. She has never held a job, never gotten the kids up and off for school in the morning, doesn't cook and doesn't clean. She stays up all night watching tv and playing on the computer and then sleeps until noon. And friends with the two kids that are in high school (they were DS' best friends when we lived in So. Cal). Whole damn family is a train wreck waiting to happen and that's the only reason I haven't unfriended them yet

I post about how I need to drink because I can't bake cakes! Don't unfriend me Sheila! I promise I will share my booze and NOT make you eat the cake! (By the way, even my teenagers are afraid to eat the cake! Teenagers will pretty much eat anything that resembles cake....but they won't eat the one I made....I must go drink some more).

My old college roommate practically post a play by play of her life. Also, whatever she is doing at the time gets a photo posted with it. If she post "spending a relaxing day reading by the pool" then there is a picture of her sitting there reading a book by the pool. The other day she posted "spending a lazy summer in the park with my favorite man" (her son), and she posted a picture of her and her son lying on a blanket with their eyes closed. My question is who the hell is taking these pictures. Is she asking someone to take them, is she setting a timer and taking them or what

Facebook isn't the reason you feel poor and depressed. Being poor and depressed is the reason.
Although I had FB for a short time it wasn't my thing. I got annoyed but it never made me feel poor or depressed.
There were some hilarious moments in the beginning and I miss the food pictures. Especially Meghans! <<drool>>

You know, I'd be more than a little inclined to report those posts to the police department he works for. Hating your job and being armed is one thing. But talking about shooting rampages and being armed is another.
