It's my middle name. No, I'm not super anonymous. (Just look at my signature.) My avatar is the best picture I have of my three most recent dogs together, though we are back down to two because my little old man, the Howie monster, passed in April. Maybe at some point I'll switch it to a pic of just the current two, or maybe to an old pic of my first two. But it always makes me happy to see a picture of my puppies, no matter what, so if nothing else, I don't mind coming back to threads I've already commented on.
edited to add: Howie is the one on the far right.

I think mine is pretty self explanatory but I will say it anyway. I live at the Jersey shore and am a proud beach bum. I always just liked the avatar because it reminds me of the pics of the Jersey Devil which was my favorite drink when I was younger.

My name is Sheila and I used to live in CA. The picture is one I found of palm trees because my favorite place in CA is floating in the pool at my parents house in Palm Springs and looking up at their palm trees. Not very original I know.

I chose mine because I've had it up to here with sad large shrubs.

When I was trying to come up with a clever name, I happened to spy a picture of a dandelion on the cover of a magazine on the table next to my computer. I can be annoying and persistent, much like a weed, so it seemed appropriate.
The avatar is the closest I could come to a very idealized image of the actual me using the available tools. The avatar is, in fact, much better looking than the actual me. The avatar is wearing purple because I like purple almost as much as I like dogs. When I get a dog, I will use a picture of the dog.

When I joined the money boards I considered myself a financial laterbloomer, not quite a latebloomer cause it wasn't the last minute but definately not an early bloomer. It was my first message board and I didn't appreciate the significance of choosing your nic. I've tried a few others but nothing felt like "me" once I had been using laterbloomer for a while. As for the avatar, I'm a Betty Boop fan and I like the fact that I can change her with the seasons. Speaking of which, she's dressed a little skimpy for how chilly it's been lately. Probably time to find a late summer outfit.

Phoenix dates back to 2004 when I first started dabbling in online gaming. In my first online game, one of the avatars was a phenoix, so my avatar/gamer tag became a phenoix. It's been my online alias ever since. Thyme4change said I should use this avatar after I complained about having to share firy bird avatars with firebird. It looked badass so I used it.

So do you think some posters' avatars say something about them? For example, some of our members use their family status as their username, such as motherto2, busymom, and ohmomto2boys. Do you think this means they wrap their identity up in being a mother? Or what about professions, does MidJD wrap up her identity in her job?

Kilroy was my first cat, and will always be my favorite. My avatar kinda, sorta looks like I did before I switched from contacts back to glasses.

I'm sarcastic.
I'm a girl.
I have red curly hair- but those waves are about as close as I could get.

I was in drama in high school and the number behind the name is my thespian troupe number. It was easy to remember.
My avatar is supposed to look like me (only I have red hair now). I must have done a good job because when Gwen looked over my shoulder she pointed to my avatar and said "Mommy!"
She also gets really excited every time she sees Dark's avatar.

I think mine is kind of self explanatory also. I was born in Iceland. I love dogs and thought that piccie was just so darn cute so this has been my nic and avatar on every board I have posted on.

That still cracks me up. I can picture her thinking mommy talks to My Little Ponies all day on the internet. To a little girl that would be like the coolest thing ever!

Are you still bummed about post 30 life? I'm not bummed about my life, but I don't like aging. Oh, and I chose Angelina Jolie for my avatar because I really, really like her. I know she's got a lot of haters, but I admire how hard she tries to be a good person, despite all of her demons. plus she's totally hot!

How disappointing. Or maybe Malaysian. Pacific Islander? Whatever, some sort of exotic person.

Haven't figured out the avatar bit yet.

I've enjoyed reading all the posts on this thread! My name is part of my name. And, yes, I do identify with the MRS part. I have been that for 43 years. So it is who I am. The avatar is exactly like me without the few lines that time has graced me with. I've always believed in aging gracefully, so it was a bit of a concern that they weren't available. I have aged well though, so I'm good with that. Great genetics. Some day I expect to wake up and find a sagging face and neck. I'll let you all know when that happens so you can tell me it's OK! I'll need the reassurance! Here's to ya!

In radio code in the Army "6" means the commander. For example, let's say your battalion nickname is the Eagles. Out in the field, if you wanted the battalion commander, you would call "Eagle 6". So since I am the commander of the home, I am The Home 6.
As for my avatar? It's because I like shoes. A LOT.

My middle name is Lynn. Some folks called me lynners.
Depending on my mood, lynnerself can be 1. Lynner's elf (whimsical) 2. an hybrid of lynn and innerself (introspective) or 3. A shortening of Lynn, herself (confidant).
A versatile name.
My avatar is Faye Valentine from cowboy bebop (totally awesome animated series BYW).
While I don't really relate to her character, I did like the cool sort of attitude in this image. Not anything like I really look, but what I feel like inside.
