...Do you pluck in between sessions? I'm a daily plucker and usually get them waxed about once/month to maintain the shape. The downside to this method is I can get my eyebrows waxed on a Friday and by Sunday I'm tweezing 10+ hairs because their growth cycle meant they were too short for the wax to pull them out.
My brow person suggested I try to get all my hairs on the same cycle by not plucking for three weeks and then go in for a wax. The wax will get all of them out - and then I'll be in the clear for 2-3 weeks and won't need to pluck them ever as the waxing sessions will get them all. This sounds GREAT, except that I'm now 4 days post-waxing and I have 20+ black hairs all over my eyebrows that REALLY need to go. I don't think I can wait three weeks.
So, if you wax do you not pluck? I can probably convince myself to just stick it out if it is indeed worth it, but it still seems like I'd end up plucking. Plus, don't you then have the issue that you are walking around with eyebrow whiskers for a few days every three weeks?

I don't pluck between waxing appts. But I have very light colored eyebrows, so it might not be as big a deal as others have.

I pluck in between. But I only get them done every 8 weeks or so when I get my hair done. I can't stand the errant hairs!

I only wax. I go in every 2 to 3 weeks. I think they stay "cleaner" that way. I noticed with plucking it always seemed like a constant thing. You'd pluck on Monday and by Wednesday notice 3 new hairs and pluck them, then by Thursday a couple more new ones. Waxing gets them all at once and like I said- I'm usually good for a couple of weeks sometimes a full month.
Typically I get a haircut and brow wax, 3 weeks later brow wax, 3 weeks later haircut and brow wax, repeat.

I tend not to pluck between waxing because I get very lazy. I do get better results when I wax that way.

I don't do waxing, but I get my eyebrows threaded. I usually pluck once or twice in the 2nd or 3rd week after getting threaded. I generally don't need to touch it the first week. Then the week before I go I try not to touch it because I feel like I am wasting money if there isn't a lot there for her to pull. I usually try to go on a Monday because then I am not embarrassed at work the few days before I get it done. Because those last few days I do feel a wreck & so badly want to pluck those last few days.
I think you should slowly try to get on the same cycle, that makes sense to me. But, I couldn't stop plucking completely myself.

I just checked the mirror because this thread made me curious. I had gone Monday & there is not a hair to be plucked even it I wanted to pluck some. Granted that is only 3 days, but I have very dark hairs, so the minute they come in they are super visible.

Yes, I'm a compulsive plucker. It's such a bad habit. I'm wondering about maybe gradually getting into the right cycle. Maybe wait only 10 days or so and then get waxed so that I have half my hairs on the wax cycle...and then maybe try to extend it to two weeks after that. It costs more money, but I'm seriously going crazy here. At least it's summer and I'm not working, but still my senses are all on high alert because there are long black hairs above my eyes that need to go! I don't even want to leave my house.

I wax because I have crappy vision and plucking is serious torture to me anyway. I'd rather do all at once than over and over and over and over and over and over..... So, no plucking. But I'm low maintenance anyway and only go when I think about it. Twice a year

Sorry but I find that stuff crazy!! I once dropped a 200 lb stand on my toe & thought that I knew pain. Then our puppy jumped on my chest & pulled a dime size hunk of my mustache out & I realized that before that I had no clue what real pain was. If men had to do that stuff it would be in a proper operating room with a staff & they would have to be totally under. Women are just wired different to be able to do that stuff.

If men had to do that there would already be a cheap, pain free, permanent way to remove unwanted hair.

I go about once a month, and I tweeze the really thick black ones that show up between sessions.

You're suprised by the fact that women have a higher tolerance for pain than men do? I would think the reasons why would be obvious to a smart guy like yourself

You had to bring this up! Now I need to go get my eyebrows done.
I get my eyebrows threaded. I go about every 3 weeks. I have stray hairs, I had to look since you brought it up. I don't generally pluck my eyebrows in between, but I do sometimes pluck hairs on my chin or lip.
I get my lip threaded a few times a year - before special parties, christmas etc. I have had electrolysis and some laser treatment on my lip so it is not real bad. My hair is dark and I am old enough to have white hairs. The white ones are the ones I often tweeze.

I don't pluck between waxing. I get waxed every 3 to 4 weeks. My eyebrows are relatively thin.

I get my brows waxed every three weeks. I don't pluck in between because I can't see well enough to do it. If I could see well enough to do a good job plucking, I wouldn't spend the money to have them waxed. But then I'm not that picky about them. As long as they don't grow into a uni-brow, I'm good.

There has got to be a better way.

I do in between because I can't stand them, but usuallly there aren't that many. I do the monthly brow waxing mainly for the re-shaping, while I could do all the plucking myself, having the waxed is quicker and way less painful.

You seriously get 10 hairs per day? Stupid Greek heritage. Yes, I've done laser on my lip/chin/neck but it only got rid of maybe half the hairs. I pluck daily there too.

Have them all lasered off and then paint them on as needed.

If men had to do that there would already be a cheap, pain free, permanent way to remove unwanted hair. No joke. When I had a mammogram last month, it was painfully obvious that women did not design that test. I'm pretty sure that the screening for testicular cancer doesn't involve mashing the boys between glass.

I have dark hair and it grows fast. I wax every two weeks like clockwork and only pluck the really obvious hair. Otherwise waxing maintains it well.

My eyebrows are blond enough that I only wax every three months or so. However, I have been getting ridiculous dark hairs popping out on my chin for the past year. I tried threading on my chin once, not twice. I took all I had to not cry while that nice woman tortured me with that innocent looking piece of string. So, I've been plucking my chin almost daily.

My eye brows are very light blonde but there are a lot of them. I never had to do them until I was about 45 but as I got older and my eyelids dropped/drooped, my eyes look much better with them "done." I have them done about every other month and only occassionally need to pull a few out.
Now that I am "OLD" I have what I call my "Monthly Maintenance Appointment" - figured I maintain my vehicles and houses on a regular basis so why not me? It is really nice because I never have to worry about any of it. I always at least look passably put together by doing this. Every month I have my hair cut plus manicure and pedicure. Every other month I have my hair highlighted and she now also throws some toner on the white in my temples - lol. On the alternate month I have my brows waxed which helps with monthly budgeting. In between I maintain my nails myself or just pop in somewhere for a quick mani.
Cheap? No, but not really expensive either. I started doing this when I used to work 60 hours between Mon and Fri plus was driving almost 1,000 miles per week between work, school, and personal. As I said, I really recommend it because I never have to think before wearing sandals or going out or interviews, etc.

My eye brows are very light blonde but there are a lot of them. I hear you, sister. I'm guessing you have the white eyelashes, too. It's the light blonde leg hair that gets me into trouble, though. It's so very tempting to go a few extra days without shaving the legs since you can't really see that light colored hair. The problem comes when you step into a patch of direct sun and the golden glow is enough to blind passersby...

If men had to do that there would already be a cheap, pain free, permanent way to remove unwanted hair. There is - laser removal. I would definitely do this for brows. Spendy, but if you have really dark hair I think it would be worth it. Just kill the follicles & be done with it forever!!!! I have very light brows, so don't bother as much as I should . . . I know others look more polished, but I can't get myself on any kind of routine maintenance schedule. I really need to work less & prioritize myself. Without derailing the discussion - have any of you had eyeliner tattoo done? I know one person who did it and 8 years out it still looks great. She did say it was the most painful thing she had ever done & almost didn't have the 2nd eye done, but had to stick it out!!! I keep thinking I should do this because I have very light (=non existant) eyelashes.

This may have changed but I know when I was having laser hair removal, eyebrows were not an option.
