empire, it IS a different set of personalities over here for sure! lol...
frank, i could use the gym myself.. but it's really impossible to do it 'right' with the schedule i have.. i'm also still trying to get past a pinched nerve that had my left arm and shoulder in so much discomfort for a while that i couldn't lay on either side to sleep for several weeks.. since i don't sleep well on my back, it was not at all good. it's a lot better now but i still notice the weakness on that side, plus if i put pressure on the nerves at all then i get my whole arm tingling..

well, i know it doesn't stem from my arm/shoulder itself.. i know it comes from the neck.. but behind my shoulder blade, in the socket and all down my arm to my thumb is where i FELT it. i have been doing some exercises i found on the 'net and they've really helped a lot.
as for the massage.. i am the only female i know who has never had one and doesn't WANT one.. i don't really enjoy getting massages from my partners, let alone strangers... i know it's professional but it's just not my thing.

you know what's odd about it though frank? i sit at a computer all day...12 hrs.. the monitors are positioned where i don't have to look down at all.. and it started hurting just before i left work one day.. how does an injury of that type occur under those conditions?

i only have 2 monitors.. no left and right necessary to view.. though i do have to turn to face either direction as i train 3 other people .. so maybe that's part of it.. i don't know... i just know that after nearly 2 months, it's still not completely resolved.. at least i can sleep again on both sides- though the left still requires some modification or my arm tingles..

no tests of any kind, though i'm 99% sure by all the symptoms i've had that it's a pinched nerve.. though carpal tunnel was a possibility too, given i do type a LOT.
and my left thumb is now slightly numb/tingly when i press on it, like an area feels after surgery while the nerves heal.. that's newish- 2 weeks or less.

Argh! There is NOTHING "Buzz Lightyear" cool about MikeC's investing strategy! No excitement at all!
He simply deducts the same amount of money from each paycheck and invests it in a balanced portfolio of stocks. He never changes the amount. He never takes a chance on brightly colored plastic elf-shoe manufacturers, or Egyptian cotton, or Nigerian e-mail-based securities, or ANYTHING fun. He does the same thing month after month, through ups and downs and cheese meteors and flash crashes and monster truck rallies. His investing approach is as thrilling as getting socks for Christmas. IT'S NOT BUZZ LIGHTYEAR AT ALL!!!
How is this deserving of the coveted karma points?!?

Moon - your symptoms sound exactly like what I went through. It seems to be a pain behind the scapula, but it's actually in the upper neck. I tried massage and physical therapy for years, but I ended up getting a disk removed between C4 & C5 I believe. The relief was immediate, but I still have numbness in my thumb on the right side. Have it looked at by an orthopedic surgeon. Left unattended, the damage to the nerves can be permanent. Not a good thing to have numb fingers. Good luck, there girl. thanks... i guess i will suck it up and make an appointment, much as i loathe the idea... |

As for my investment strategy.... It is indeed boring
I do have a chunk of $$$$$ taken out of my pay every week
I don't do stocks
I only have funds available so it is even more boring
I have been at it for 20 years +
The only thing that is not boring is my balance!!!!
I "hope" to have 7 figures when I start spending it in 6 years to supplement my conventional retirement

No all-encompassing obsession with Karma? No burning desire to accumulate more Karma than itstippy? No maniacal gleam in his eye as he presses the all-powerful SMITE button? Cares more about watching Toy Story with his grandkids than manipulating the Karma exchange via nefarious means?
This can't be right. I gotta recheck my data. I could swear he said he was going to, "Bury itstippy under an avalanche of dark pool high-frequency Smite transactions". Gotta be here somewhere in the notes . . .

Could care less about karma or smites....
I do give FIT karma every chance I get as I know it pisses some people off here that people do like frank and listen to him...

News Flash:
Systemic risk in the Karma Exchange has gone off the chart. Fear of a pending shutdown of electronic karma transactions, effectively freezing global karma markets and rendering existing karma completely illiquid, has given way to outright panic. Emergency talks are underway to form a Karma Protection Team (KPT), with contingency plans in place ready for immediate implementation if a "Black Swan" karma event occurs.
Karma Default SWAPS have skyrocketed, as holders of Karma-Backed-Securities (Karma BS) and related derivatives seek to hedge their positions. The spread between the street price of physical karma and karma held in so-called "Karma Trusts" is at 4:1. Spot prices for karma futures are fluctuating violently, as demand may far outweigh future supply or perhaps not (see "Is There A Karma Glut" in today's WSJ).
National Realtors Association chief economist, Lawrence Yum, has issued a statement calling for further support of the real estate industry at the National level as a means of stabilizing karma values and creating jobs.
