Why would they bother? To muzzle those who speak the truth. They can't handle the truth.
If the word got out on just how deep this goes, the whole thing would come falling down around their heads and shoulders. There's nothing they aren't capable of to protect their interlocking directorates.
Certainly nobody out there thinks that it is just coincidence that this whole smiting thing came out the same time that protesters started rallying in Egypt. That this is all happening just before the US hits the debt limit. That the price of gold is starting to recover. Just as tin prices are rising geometrically.
It's just allllllll sooooooo coincidental.

So let me see if I understand what is going on here.... I have Exalt and Smite listed..... If I exalt a person their karma goes up by 1 If I smite a person their Karma goes down by 1 It is OK to exalt a person I like You want to punish a person who smites a person he does not like?  ? Why then would I have a smite option if we are not to use it? Just a question...... |

omg.. i don't know how many times i have to repeat myself.. i guess a million because things are scattered all over the damn place. smite was disabled because people were using it to be a-holes and the people being smited were complaining about it..

verrip: the "tracker" is a system that automatically issues a notification to an admin for users who modify Midwesterner's karma. It's the only tool available on ProBoards that allows users to be notified that their actions were recorded without plugging up their inbox.
To clear up some misconceptions: 1) it is impossible to 'authorize' any user other than 'admin' to view the board's security log, 2) the "invasion of privacy" constitutes a notification to the user that karma vote has been tracked for a particular user; the notification was explicitly included to promote transparency; your desire to have your activities tracked in secret has been noted, 3) if you have not exalted or smitten midwesterner in the past week, no information was registered.
This is about me using the ridiculously limited tools at my disposal to prevent very specific individuals from abusing the "karma" system to torment mid, who everyone is well aware cares about his karma--reasonably or not. The tracking affects only those who modify mid's karma, and it is done with complete transparency.
If you consider this draconian, I will delete all tracking notifications, forward every single complaint about karma abuse, as well as all complaints about complaints about karma abuse, and complaints about complaints about complaints about karma abuse to your account, and will expect you to enforce the "no smiting" rule of the board with all diligence.

I can not see them, nor can anyone else. 2. No one else besides me has access to the security log. That is why the script is in place.. i can not even give anyone sufficient permission to view it. |
