Dang! I knew I missed the earth's atmosphere one as I was clicking the wrong answer!! I got 12 out of 13 right... Those questions weren't worded 'tricky' nor where the possible answers "tricky" - all pretty much straigt forward. In other words, it was intended to test very basic knowledge - cause if you have the basic knowledge you don't have 'study' the answers and choose the answer that best answers the question (if you aren't really sure of the answer).  I'm a "liberal arts" type major with business and computer science "minors" of sorts. In other words, I got to take computer science courses along with Shakespeare/Poli Sci/and religious studies courses.  I managed to avoid most of the hard science courses (I have trouble with math. ) |

12/13 - missed the dang atmosphere one. 12/13 - missed the same one as you. I should never take a quiz w/o having my coffee first!  Interesting that older people (65+) did not do too well compare to younger folks. I thought "With age comes wisdom" would have come into play. It's also interesting that men seemed to do better than women except when it came to antibiotic issues - not a surprise, they are (usually) caretakers by nature. <<that's a compliment ladies>> |

We get free, natural fertilizer for our gardens and lawns by the energy of lightning causing nitrogen and water in the atmosphere to combine to form ammonia and nitrates which then falls to earth with the rain.

I got them all correct. It shouldn't be surprising since I did major in physics. No offense to anyone who missed any of them, but those were all very easy questions.
It is sad that I scored better than 93% of my peers. I know about fracking because I work with a lot of geologists and there is a big mining school in the area. It's a commonly discussed topic.
I'm not sure where I learned the composition of the atmoshpere, but I recall using it extensively in chemistry and physics.

13/13. The fracing one is slightly misleading, as there is more than one natural resource that can be recovered, although oil is not on the list.
And no, no matter what the media would like you to think, there is no "k" in that word. Just because it makes it easier to draw the parallel to various curse words does not mean you get to redefine the correct spelling.
