I'm glad I read the post about the green bag tag expiring mine was up today and I would never have known. I got 2 four packs of the vanilla pudding on sale for $1 each and called it even. I couldn't eat it it has too much milk, but DH. can have some. I roasted a huge to me 12lb Turkey breast I got a month ago from Pricerite for $12. It was a manager special and I got the last two 12lb ones. Pricerite has great prices on loads of things so I go there when I can. Oh and the clearance on Tuesday at CVS was no good this week. I'll try again next week. We just got a Price Rite within the last year. I try to get there once or twice a month. I have several "regular" things I look for there and usually just wander around and look for deals. They do have some really great buys. I recently bought 3 Cook's ham butt's for like .59/lb! I love Price Rite. Their produce prices are really good and their quality is WAY better than Aldi. I wish it was closer to my usual travel route. But, that reminds me, I will be pretty close to it tomorrow so will probably stop in and look around.

I've been focusing most of my attention on sales at the grocery store. I've also been doing secret shopping and have found companies that do shops at ShopRite, Price Chopper and Stop & Shop so I try to do all my grocery shopping within the context of those shops. Love it! If anyone else is interested, Market Force has shops for A&P/Pathmark, ShopRite and Price Chopper: www.marketforce.com/ and Interactions Marketing has S&S: www.interactionsmarketing.com/services/shopper-insights-mystery-shopping.aspx. The shops generally pay around $10. In other news, I got engaged!! We picked out the ring together, so it wasn't a total surprise, I just wasn't sure when it would make its way onto my finger. We're not planning a wedding, we'll get married at town hall sometime over the summer and then go on our honeymoon in the fall. WOW!! CONGRATULATIONS!! That is awesome news. I love the idea of a low-key wedding. Big, fancy, expensive weddings are entirely overrated. I knew you were doing some of the secret shopping stuff. I'm sure that you're in a position where you no longer really need to chase a lot of the drug chain deals on non-perishables. Besides pantry staples, there is little I want or need from the drug chains.

Gain dishwashing soap .99 -.50 quarterly ECB -GC =0 ===> $2 GBT ECB
Vitamins $4.99 -$3 vitamins CRT -$2 GBT ECB = 0
Not like the old days but I was in and out in a flash with two free items. (CVS, btw.)

hope Neither of my 2 closest CVS ever have the stuff on clearance or at the same discount (holiday or seasonal items) as I see posted here and other web sites. In fact, I have not been able to determine a day when they actually DO markdowns.
My fav fruit/veg market DID post their weekly specials this am. However, this is the 2nd week in a row there is NOTHING I want there. Aldi & one of my independent markets have either the same or better prices AND more stuff I want/need. That is VERY unusual.

Thanks ladies! I'm excited to make things official and then to start planning our honeymoon! I'm thinking we'll do a northeast roadtrip in the fall going up to Canada and stopping on the way up and down in Vermont, Boston and some other places. Can't wait! We went to Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City on our honeymoon. Very, very nice time....though over 28 years ago

Hi everyone. I haven't been hounding a lot, but I do watch what a buy. I truly miss the deals of a couple years ago. I practically lived @ Rite Aid.
Has anyone seen sunscreen coupons? I'm not brand specific, of course, but I do need lotion. My kids hate the spray. We have vacation coming up really really soon, plus summer time. Need to protect ourselves!
Thanks!

There was a $2 Aveeno sunscreen q in last Sunday's inserts--SS, I believe. It wasn't in my metro paper but was in the SF Chronicle. Maybe you're lucky and got it in yours.
Also, I think Target had Aveeno on sale for $7.04, but that may have ended last week. I use Aveeno almost every day since I walk so much. It's a good sunscreen.

DH and I and 2 DDs just got back from a mini vacation. Two days with BIL in Pollock Pines just chilling out. So beautiful and peaceful. We went kayaking, hiking, wine tasting, beer tasting etc. Lots of eating in there, too! BIL and SIL bought a "cabin" there a few years back. It's really a house and very cute. Only took a couple hours to get there which was nice.

Yay, I got 2 free snuggle product coupon in the snail mail today. I called their C/S and told them about how the softner'was leaving white marks on dark colors really bad.......they acted like it had never happened to any one before and sent me the coupons. I can't believe I am the only one. Anyway, free is free so i.'all take them and be happy. I also has some Mahatma rice leaking out of a pack that wasn't sealed in the ,machine correctly this month. More free coupns from them! They have CS there and if ithink back to the times I would have put it down to bad luck and thrown out the pack...now I. know better. Oh I got a $4/$20 in my e mail from CVS. So now I have that and a $10/$50! They must really be needing us back.

I'm shocked . I might actually be doing a deal at CVS next week. They sent me a $4/$20 through email and there is a deal on Excedrin (Buy $20/Get a $10EB). I haven't gotten any Excedrin since it came back on the market and it is my pain reliever of choice. Then I'll use the EBs to do the peanut butter deal. OOP will be paid with cash cards.

If you have Rite Aid, I've seen a lot of $2 hang tags on Banana Boat and HT. I probably have a few in my stash. If you can't find any, let me know and I'll send you a few. Most of my stores have a smaller display of sunscreen on the side of and end cap and these are where I've found the one's with hang tags.

Dancin, you have couponed a long time. Why do you think the drug store rewards were so great the last 5 years that there were so many free things or MM's? I'm just curious as I started couponing when the deals were great. I'm glad I did and got what I got and know why they stopped, but why did they ever start in the first place?

I'm just curious as I started couponing when the deals were great. I'm glad I did and got what I got and know why they stopped, but why did they ever start in the first place? It always has something to do with gaining market share - attracting more customers than the next guy. I'm not positive, but I think CVS was the first national drug chain to offer rewards. WAGs started the RRs in 2006. Rite Aid held out as long as they could, but their sales were REALLY suffering and eventually I think they had to jump on board with the UPs in order to compete. Remember though, it wasn't the rewards alone that allowed us to get a lot of free products, it was the rewards in combination with the use of MCs. I don't think the retailers or manufacturers ever realized what their rewards programs would allow consumers to do or, if they did, that consumers would be smart enough to put it all together to stockpile so many free products. Obviously that was never their intent and as soon as they realized what we were doing and were deluged with people doing it (thanks to EC), the pull-back started. I had NEVER seen anything like it in my previous years of couponing and I doubt we'll ever see anything like it ever again.

It is definitely a bummer . I never thought the days of free toothpaste would ever end. It seemed like ever dang week there was free toothpaste somewhere, for years! I started couponing heavily in Jan of 2009. I still do ok here and there, but I don't put much effort into it anymore either because I do have SO MUCH still in my stockpile. It does make me second guess selling off too much of my excess. I usually sell all but a few of each item over the summer at sales at my campground, but, I really am going to need to re-think that idea and maybe hold on to more of it. I think we will all continue to do well with deals. I don't forsee us paying shelf price for toothpaste or shampoo. There will always be SOME deal to be had, but, I agree, the days of massive stockpiling are probably over... Having said that, I got a x/xx in my email from cvs this week too, so, maybe they are trying to lure us back in

I finally got back into CVS today to pick up a prescription and found a deal! CVS emailed me a $5/$15. I had rainchecks for the 5 count of Zyrtec free after MC. 2 Zyrtec - 12.00 2 M&Ms - 5.00 1 Shick Hydro disposable razor 4 count - 11.99 Total was around 29.00 -12.00 Zyrtec MCs -5.00 CVS $5/15 -2.00 CVS M&M coupon -1.50 M&M MC -4.00 Shick coupon -.50 ECB Paid 3.99 OOP and got a $5 ECB for the razors. For not even stepping foot into CVS in probably 2 months, I'm pretty happy with that!

I got this weekend's RPs already, and there are Qs for banana boat and hawaiian tropic. frugalsuz, congrats on the engagement! Your ring is very pretty My sister is getting married in 3 weeks, and I totally wish she'd gone the no-frills route. This bridesmaid thing is crap. I am now totally out of drugstore rewards, although I might get back into RA before the end of the month. They have a really good monthly deal on herr's chips and I need some more tortilla chips to go with the queso I bought. Tomorrow BFF and I are going to brunch at the local creperie, and then going to see the new star trek in IMAX. Several weeks ago I bought 4 red baron pizzas for 2.50 each at a local grocery store, and I was able to enter the codes inside for a free movie ticket that's worth more than what I paid for the pizza

Since I've been posting more on this board I have received. ..$10/$50 CVS $4/$20 CVS 2 free snuggle mq's in the mail, 6 free Mahatma rice mq's in the mail Now something tells me this is the place for good luck.
Those snuggle are good until 12/31 but I am temped to use them at CVS this week......but I want the product to keep for a long while...so I may just hold onto the mq's. Maybe later in the year get a deal. I am going to a big CVS in the next town this weekend. They have more in there and I hope to get a great deal using my remaining $3 poise mq. I am getting excited about CVS again and its been a long time since that happened.
