That's cm, not Terri. Terri was an abused mom of two of was a social worker, of all things, who didn't think she was abused. He only hit her a few times. And didn't work. And told her what to do and who to talk to. And her kids didn't have any problems because of the abuse. Her daugher barely talked at all and her son wouldn't poop. ^ That one.And then she disappeared. I like to imagine things worked out for her, but I'm skeptical. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/sad.png)

I had a few email addresses in my contacts that could be hers, but I am not sure.

I just remembered another thread - there was a woman who came on the old WIR and her thread was "I need a cheap hobby" - she was in a really bad situation and seemed totally oblivious. Living in rural WA or Idaho, husband was a no-kidding cowboy, they were living in a tiny cabin provided by his employer earning like $11 grand per year (plus a side of beef!) and he had to provide and house/feed his own work horses. The nearest town was 30 miles away, they only had some raggedy old 4wd that sucked gas and kept breaking down. She had two young kids, she had to drive them to school every day I think. The worst was that when you dove down into the thread, they had been living in a more populated area where they had both had jobs and could support themselves, had some money leftover, etc., but gave it up for the cowboy lifestyle because not being a cowboy made her husband "mean" and he would physically assault her "just a little" - which she was pretty sure was her fault and the job's fault. God, I felt like I banged my head against a brick wall, jumping up and down and shouting on that thread. To no end, of course. I totally remember that one, too. Another previous poster that I wonder about, as well.

Other than Teri and Wife of Idaho cowboy mentioned above, the threads I remember best are from this incarnation of MSN money. The one about Carl's cousin's wedding, Carl's wife's cousin, and AngelD and her daughter's nightmare daycare situation.

When I was lurking there was a thread from a Canadian lawyer who was thinking about becoming a teacher. She was married to a wealthy man and had a prenup. People attacked her marriage, said she was naive (dont know many naive lawyers) for thinking she could teach, and one person searched for her tag name online because they thought she was a troll. Even when all of her info checked out they posted the information from another site about her honeymoon and wedding. She left. She was very nice, but I think that for whatever reason the fact that she had a prenup bothered people.

I believe it was the "just any warm place to stick it" comment that really disgusted me. He denies he ever said that and actually reported me to a MOD for reminding him of it and a bunch of my posts were deleted. I am glad I am not the only person that remembers him saying that!

I thought it was a warm, disease-free place to stick it? I remember that only because there was some discussion on the difference between a prostitute and a wife, and absence of venereal disease seemed to be the distinguishing factor. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png)

I remember the Cowboy wife thread. I really felt bad for her because it seemed like she was in a just flat out bad situation with no options unless she wanted to pretty much walk out and start over on her own. She's one of the few posters that I still wonder about from time to time.
I LOVED the thread about Carl's cousin's wedding. That one was really funny.

The pix were priceless. And of course all the subsequent drama. And I can't remember is this the same cousin with the mental health issues or is that Carl's wife's cousin?
I forgot about the duct tape dress thread; boy was that laughing to tears funny.
WALL STREET TALK WHERE YOU'RE ONLY ALLOWED TO WRITE IN CAPS AND SLAP PEOPLE WITH BENJIS. I still miss Miller the Large.
Picnic and the drinking threads.

But considering that about 50% of the population will test positive for HPV and be asymptomatic, I'm not sure a spouse is guaranteed to be a safe place to stick it.

Well, if the girl has been acting like a future bride she will. Wonder if he would teach boys to act like future grooms? (And what that would entail.)

Take him to flower shops to pick out arrangements and then to a bakery to do cake testings and promise him sex when he's done?

Ones I remember (most have already been mentioned) Cawiau's cousin's wedding tloony and Latisha Shasta's first - I'm going to quit thread (mostly I remember that for feeling so stupid for believing it) tloony and the dots (hysterical) Sheila's Jimmy thread
A few I remember because they were so sad - unexpected divorce and death type threads.

Remember the original tipping thread? Things got pretty intense. Who would have thought tipping was so personal?

The duct tape wedding dress, Dear MM, and the Doow threads were classics. One of my personal favorites was launched by WyoLuv. She went to YM and pretended to be a 18 or 19 year old, living in an old trailer with three kids, and a husband that may or may not have been a relative. I don't recall the details, but she was asking all sorts of financial questions, and she was receiving a lot of straight answers. Of course some of us EE'ers posted comments to add fuel to the fire. I think Wyo earned a 3 day time-out for that one.
