I may have spent a small fortune on groceries on Mon but, so far, I am not seeing much I want/need on sale for the week starting 3/7. Looks like under $10.

I went to Target to get the free Downy sheets with the $3 Target q and $3 P&G insert q but they were out. I did manage to get 4 of the Gillette shave gel for free, though. They are priced at $1.99 and the P&G q is for $2. I bought a 4 pack of Activia for $2 and used a $1 q for that. Had to get some foot spray for DH, too, so my total ended up at $4. Not bad.
If anyone is not planning on using the Gillette shave gel q's, I'll be happy to take them off your hands! I have three guys that use the stuff so it's always a challenge to keep up!
I guess this is how it will be from now on. Periodically, there will be a good q or two out there. Oh well, have to make hay while the sun shines!

Freesalsa,
Were you able to use 2 Qs on a BOGO deal at Sprouts? If you tried it, can you let me know?
Thanks

I just don't want it to happen to me!! LOL, beach. It will be about 7 years before that happens to Dancin!!! I still have two individual rolls from the Black Friday CVS sale but we need more asap. I don't have all the storage room Dancin does. DH brought up moving again in August when our yearly lease is up. I just can't move a whole stockpile again! I had to move it in here and it took over a year to use it up. Hey, Miss Hot Tamale: And you're the ONLY Grocery Hound who knows what kind of storage space I REALLY have!! If there was any thought of moving, there is no way that I would have stockpiled as much as I have. DH and I plan to stay here another 9 or 10 years. In the meantime, during our US travels, we are going to be looking for a retirement community to move to where they provide meals, activities, housekeeping, and assisted care - when the time comes. I hope that most of my stockpiles of non-perishables that we use on a regular basis will see us through with close to nothing to move when the time comes.

Has anyone seen any specials on iTunes or iApp cards? I try to buy them when there is a discount and figured if someone else was looking they might have seen something. I know sometimes the office stores will have a special. Thanks!

Select Messages from the Menu bar. You'll be in the Personal Messages task page. Look down at the 2nd blue menu bar. On the far right, you'll see Create Message....the rest will be intuitive. Let me know if you need any help.

I did go to Staples last night (in the nick of time) to covert some rewards into rebates. I got (2) packages of copy paper and one package of photo paper, so that's $23.98 that should be coming back to me. I have a little over $6 that I need to spend by mid-month. I love those totes that I got the rewards for. I have (2) $30 rewards certificates that expire the end of April, so we'll see how that goes. I have all my copy paper stored in the office walk-in, but DH piled a bunch of boxes on top of a case or more that some of us got eons ago for free from Staples. I have no clue what is left from those sales - one case, more? We plan to get in there this weekend and clean that closet out, so I'll finally know how much I have. All I know is that in the last year I've added (10) free reams to that stockpile. Our nephew from New Zealand is coming for a short, over-night visit later today. He's been in the area on business. We haven't seen him in years so it will be fun to see him as a "grown up". I've been so busy, I haven't even checked my J4U account. I guess I'd better get on it.

Just got the Amex Blue Preferred Cash Card. It gives 6% back on purchases made at stand-alone(not WM, Costco, Sam's Club and other's that aren't strictly food stores) grocery stores(up to $6000 charged in a year). 3% at gas stations and certain department stores(i.e. Macys, Bon-Ton, Sears, JCPenney and a few others) and then 1% on anything else.
Just another way to save.

I have finally spent all my UPs as of yesterday evening. I have a few deals to do later this month at RA, but most of them will involve just tax after Qs.

Guess I need their noise to invigorate me. DD2 has said she'll buy a home with a mother-in-law unit for DH and I because she needs me "to get the deals" for her! I'm hoping she throws in a granchild or two to keep us busy!

I did do the deal on downy 3.99 a bottle I only paid $2.00 not toooooooooooooooo bad but I need the downy. So thank you Murphath for great deal!

I'm hoping she throws in a granchild or two to keep us busy! Interesting. It seems like most of our lives, we've been the "young ones" in the group. I guess it's because we joined a golf club where we used to live because it was the cheapest way for DH to play a lot of golf, but I guess still a little pricey for "kids" our age at the time. We always enjoyed the older crowd. DH's folks moved into one in their 70s and we visited them there many times and liked the ambiance. The only reservation that we have is that in an environment like that you might be approached by "social cling-ons". We're very social, but we don't like it when people start "smothering" us and wanting us to hang out with them ALL THE TIME like we're the Bobsie Twins or something. Other than that, we both think it might be the right move for us. We don't expect it to be cheap. We are hoping we can sell our home and use the proceeds to "buy in". If need be, we could move to a much lower COLA. I guess it will all depend on how much it actually costs and whether or not we find an alternative over the next 10 years that we like better.

dancinmama,
It's very YMMV - Dove soap 8 pk is on clearance 50% off for 6.49 and there is 3$ VVQ from Feb and a 2$ Facebook Q. Combine it with peelies for free yardley soap (I have 4) - after gold discount these bars are 1.27, but peelies are for 1.59 each.
So if overage works out then 22c + tax for 12 bars of soap. I have to go in when my young cashiers are in so I have to do next week, but before the VVQ expires.

dancinmama, It's very YMMV Geez, what isn't YMMV these days? It seems like every deal will work IF you have this/that/something else or IF you get auto-deduct or IF the wind is blowing in a particular direction.

RE: P&G Buy $50 Get $15 Rebate:
I noticed that under the Mail part of the form it says:
"Original UPC from the package(include a graphic if possible)"
First, getting the UPC code off of bottles of Pantene is going to be a challenge. And WTF do they mean "include a graphic". What do they expect me to do, send them a disc with jpgs of the UPC codes? Out of control.

Out of control. I think there has been discussion about this on other sites and I plan on sending in my rebate as I've done in the past. When I do the Pantene deal at Rite Aid, I'll have enough to send in for the rebate. I don't plan on taking any pictures or cutting out the UPCs. Meijer shoppers have been upset that many stores are stopping the doubling of coupons by the end of the month. Luckily, the ones in our area haven't done so yet but it doesn't look good. We still have four different stores in our area that still double. Last month I saved 66% at the grocery and drug stores but I spent way less than I normally do. I've been cherry picking and will continue to do so. Aldis has been having some great produce deals and they can be pricematched at Wally's. My great deal of the week was getting 6 bags of frozen stir fry vegetables for a total of $.39 OOP at a little independant grocery store that doubles coupons. This will make 3 large meals for us with beef or chicken from the freezer and cheap rice I got last month.

It seems like these kinds of deals are few and far between. If I can find a "pearl" (free or close to it) every now and then, I'm happy. I remember when Green Giant Steamers were free at Walmart after a $1/1 coupon. I didn't get the coupon in my inserts, but DogsRKids2 sent me over 30 of them so I was able to stockpile them for free. I read about Mejeir; Kroger has recently stopped doubling in various regions too. I think you're wise to see the writing on the wall, so to speak, taking advantage of your doubles while you can. I wonder how long it will be before doubled coupons is just a fond memory.

Personally, I think I'm going to have to go back to keeping a more detailed price book. because no matter what happens with coupons, even if they all went away tomorrow, you can still stockpile at rock bottom prices. The advantage in recent years has been that when something is free due to the use of a coupon, you KNOW that's rock bottom!! Seriously though, that's how my mom shopped because back in the day there was no such thing as Sunday coupon inserts. Most coupons that were used were either newsprint or they were found on the inside label or box of a product that you bought (or sometimes loose inside). I remember that there used to be a cat food called Tender Vittles. They were on sale and there was a coupon on the box that made the OOP per box $.01. My mom bought (5) boxes to start and then cut the coupons off the boxes and went in for (5) more. Rinse and repeat several times sending all of us kids in to get them and my Grandma who was visiting at the time. Sam the Cat had a HUGE stockpile of Tender Vittles. Another time she must have found a super rock bottom price on Jello cuz I remember that we had a boatload of it. Did you know that raw jello (the powder) tastes just like pixie sticks? I was REALLY popular at school.

Out of control. I decided to ignore that thing about the graphic as well. I cut the labels off everything that could be easily removed, but they were not coming off the olay body wash. Normally P&G is really good about rebates, so hopefully it won't be a problem
