the end of it no, seriously, I enjoy downhill skiing and skating. I forgot how much I enjoyed skiing, it had been a few years, but I went on Christmas Day the last one I lived in my condo. I haven't been since buying my house though, I should do something about that! do you binge watch things on Netflix/prime/whatever? can you recommend something?

Recently I binge watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and then Season 3 of Better Call Saul. I recently put my old 26" tv with Roku in my bedroom. I usually watch an episode of something before I go to sleep.
Have you cut the cable cord yet? I got a pretty good one-year deal, but I know I won't be so lucky when it rolls over in May. Which Roku-available channels are good ones?

Haven't cut completely, but DH did reduce our satellite package last year for a $30/mo savings. I cannot speak to Roku. Sorry. Say you're going on a long weekend away, what 5 essential items to you pack?

No gym membership but we've been good Costco customers for many years. I remember way back when Price Club was around and Walmart bought them out. First Sam's Club I was ever in and I was there just once. Saw most of their products were Walmart and didn't go back. That's when I joined Costco ......
Are you looking forward to spring and smell of flowers growing? Or the smell of ragweed and one gigantic sneeze? In spring this whole area of Phx is one huge sneeze from the citrus blossoms

Where I live, we have no real winter, and flowers are blooming now. In fact, roses blood continuously. I don't have any allergies to mess with my enjoyment of the weather.
Is it a workday, a weekend, or just another day for you? What's today's plan? I'm getting my hair cut and colored, going in to work for a bit, and having dinner with friends and seeing Jersey Boys.

I do ......... I do ............. I do We take the daily Phoenix newspaper and the weekly paper here in town. And I keep up with the comics, best part of the paper. This last Sunday 'Pearls Before Swine' had the beat strip I've seen in a very long time. It's called 'Six Stages of Marriage'. I liked it so well I cut it out and it's on the fridge ............ If you think about it, look it up.
What is your favorite all-time movie ....... or series?

I 've flown more times than I can count. Back in the day (1966) I even took flying lessons. Was able to solo and decided doing it myself wasn't such a good idea after all. I learned on a Cessna 172.
What is your favorite color?

There are shades or tints of just about every color I don't like. There are also certain color combinations that I hate - like pink and orange. I like both colors, hate them together. C hates anything with a gray undertone (where I am drawn to those colors).
In addition to the gray undertone in colors, it also turns out the area rugs are an area where C and I have very different taste, and buying one for our current house was one of the most difficult decisions (up to that point) in our marriage.
Are there any decisions that seem silly/mundane/inconsequential that have actually been really hard for you?

Are there any decisions that seem silly/mundane/inconsequential that have actually been really hard for you?Yes. We're very, very risk averse when it comes to retirement savings. But we finally decided to transfer $$ from my wonderful DH's traditional IRA into the TSP (like a 401K for military/federal employees) ... which is invested in the stock market. He did the paperwork today. Do you have a preferred shape of ice cubes?

No ....... as long as it cools my water, I don't care what shape it is. I've seen pictures of a few very interesting ice cubes. Guess the one I remember most is the nude lady from the waist up.
I can't think of a question now ........ so anyone can answer any of the previous questions of your choice.
Thank you ............

I am one of those weirdos who does not like ice cold drinks/water, etc so the shape of cubes are totally unimportant to me just the amount someone tries to put in my glass!!
Do you prefer hot tea, iced tea, hot coffee, iced coffee You get my drift - I think

I remember years ago when I would write a lot of checks that the prior year would be written to at least the end of January. Now I write maybe 2 checks a month and so far no problems. No even when I date papers at work. Tonight is a great 'moon watch' night and an eclipse in this south west area. Are you going to get up in the early morning to watch? I am, have my phone alarm set so I don't forget

I really like the cylindrical ice cubes with holes in the middle - if I'm going to have ice (which I rarely do). I don't drink coffee at all. I prefer most of my tea hot, but I have a weakness for southern sweet tea, which should be cold. I messed up writing the year once so far this year. But for the most part haven't had any issues. It was super cloudy here - no super moon for us. I try to take a walk, or cuddle the dogs if I'm home. Taking the dogs for a walk is the ideal. Yes, I like leftovers. Which is good, because that's what I eat pretty much every weeknight.

I have depression episodes and January is always tough for me so I'd say I do have SAD. I'm still learning how to take better care of myself. Getting outside helps, but it's hard to do when it's so cold. The next best thing is taking a nap near a sunny window - I call them my cat naps because and usually a kitty or two will join me. Or even just reading there in the sun. I'm also trying to make a point to make time for myself - something my therapist is helping to keep me accountable for. Hard to do with kids and career. I feel lazy when I just plunk down and read when there are so many things I should be doing. I also need to go out more with DH or friends without the kids. I actually have concert tickets tonight with another mom friend. I need to schedule these things in certain intervals to make sure they get in. Eating healthy, drinking water, and taking supplements have also helped. It's way too easy to eat like crap when you feel lousy already. Baths and candles are also relaxing for me. As are candles in general. This winter, the kids and I have been doing lots of puzzles and coloring both of which are relaxing for me. I also mindless sorted a bunch of beads this past weekend which helped me feel productive but was also relaxing because I didn't have to think or move. Interested to hear other responses including yours Shane.

I'm old, ha, so I still use CDs in the truck, though sometimes I'll bring my iPod and USB cord. Do you sing aloud while driving?

azucena - I have a full spectrum light, which I use for about 15-20 minutes every day. We are so gray here, that that is often the closest I get to actual sunlight. I take a vitamin D supplement. I get out and walk. Weekend mornings the dogs get walked regardless of weather, and I try to get out and walk around campus once per day, regardless of weather (that's what spare shoes and ponchos are for). We aren't so cold as gray and wet. And I let myself have bad days. This has been the hardest part for me, actually, to just accept that some days are bad days and that's okay.
NoNamePerson - If actually swimming, I prefer a pool. For hanging out near/wading/playing in, for myself I prefer river/stream and then ocean. But with a kid, I prefer lake.
wyouser - For long drives, audio books, which I listen to via my phone. Medium drives - CDs. Short drives - FM, specifically the public radio station run out of one of the local high schools. Very little talk, very few commercials, lots of upbeat music
Iggy aka IG - Yes. Loudly if I'm alone, but sometimes under my breath when other people are in the car.
Do you still like to find new/new to you bands and artists? Or do you pretty much only listen to the music you've been listening to for the last however many years?

I haven't ever answered before, so I forgot to ask the next question...d'oh! I need to get some vitamin D and look into any other supplements that might help. I forgot you're in the NW with the gray and rain. I prefer rain over cold but don't think I'd deal with the gray for long periods very well. I listen to Christian music and like hearing new artists and songs, but I definitely have favorites too. I've noticed DH plays a lot of 90s music on Alexa from when we were in hs so I've definitely been picking on him about getting old and listening to the oldies. It's funny to hear our DDs signing with that stuff. Do you like brussel sprouts? My family loves them roasted so we have them once a week when they're in season (i.e. cheap). Having them for leftovers at work today and didn't realize they would stink even if I ate them cold. Oops. I have since apologized to my cube mates.

No question or answer coming from me tonight.

I can't stand Brussels sprouts in any way shape or form. I didn't like them as a kid and forced to try them, and as an adult they go right straight through me ............ not good. I don't like any cooked cabbage and the radiation messed me up so I can't eat raw cabbage. I like cole slaw ...... Anyone planning a blow-out party for the Super Bowl?

If by blow-out party you mean sleep until 4:30 pm and get up and go to work, then yes I pretty much don't care about any sports at all anymore. I used to enjoy watching them when I was younger, but now I just, don't. If you could be anywhere in the world right at this moment, where would you be?
