Last time I actually served on a jury was in the early 1970s in Los Angeles. It was a case against a slum-lord by the county and was settled out of court a couple of days into the trial.
My most recent being called was a couple of years ago. It was a case against a gun runner, and I was dismissed as soon as they found out my g-son in-law is a police officer.
I think I've aged out of being called now ....... haven't heard anything since.
How was your Thanksgiving Day, and things to be thankful for? Did you eat too much? or just comfortably full?

my day has been interesting. started out with a few hours at work (earning 2x PTO to be used later) and moved on to holiday dinner at my sister's in-laws, near the office. I was uncomfortably full, but a couple strong belches in the car on my way home have brought me back down to comfortably full. I made two plates, each had turkey and a pile of various vegetables, with a little mashed and gravy. so I think the damage is minimal. are you going shopping tomorrow? or have you already started today? (my state doesn't allow sales at all today, online only. some stores open at midnight)

A: Not exactly going shopping tomorrow? I kinda went yesterday? I needed to replace my Honda battery. I was prepared to pay. but instead of paying at first. the sales guy offered that I can wait 40 minutes to check and confirm that battery is bad. if yes, I could use my warranty to get a free replacement battery! Q: how is your weather going this Holiday, good, bad, too cold, just right?

Weather is a tad cool for us here but absolutely gorgeous so no complaints! High around 68 and sunny blue skies.
Do you have a lot of turkey day left overs and what will you do with them?

I do not, I was a guest yesterday and only took a few slices to go. I did take one of the carcasses, though. going to make stock out of that today.
what's your favorite Thanksgiving leftover?

Well, don't laugh chiver78 but the leftover you took home if my fav leftover!! Not a meat eater but I get the turkey carcasses for stock. One was from smoked turkey and the other from fried turkey. Goooooood stock coming to town
What is your least favorite leftover but you take it home with you rather than hurt hostess feeling (that is if you eat at home of others)

Q: if it is a little cool, chilly, or just getting cold at home. do you turn up the heat or put on more clothes?

I do the latter for awhile, but if it's really cold in our house, say in the low 60's, we turn on the radiant heat.
Are you a list maker?

I love meant butter and jelly. I tend to buy a new jar of PB when I open the last one, that way I'm never without. Jelly, of course.
I won't buy anything but Jif. What PB do you buy?

Smuckers Natural PB. I don't buy any brand that has more than one ingredient listed. Well it does say salt. So two ingredients. Also grind it fresh at Fresh Market.
What is your fav brand of Jelly?

Homemade Well, there is a marionberry jam I really love, but I don't know the name of it, I just buy it when I see it at Costco. There is also a ginger rhubarb preserves I like on a nice baguette with farmers cheese. Do you like desserts with rhubarb?

If only roses still have a smell. But yes I do stop and smell the roses in the manner your question was intended. When was the last time you were stung by bee/wasp/hornet?

I don't drink coffee at all. I tried when I turned 18 but DH#1 was an avid coffee drinker. He learned on board ship in the Navy that holding a cup of hot coffee was a good way to warm his hands. I still have his military mug. ........ To me it's priceless.
I've been in Starbucks just once with some friends and bought tea. I checked the prices and was glad I didn't have the habit.
Do you still have left-over turkey ........ either in fridge or freezer?

Yes. Since the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Say you wake up extra early on a week day. What do you choose to do with the extra time? Read, workout, tidy up...?

December questions Starbucks - Yes. My regular drink is a venti, almond milk, no water, chai. I generally get it once or twice a week. Turkey - No. I only had turkey at someone else's house. I did, however, but a second ham in order to have more ham leftovers. Decorations - No. At my house, Christmas doesn't get to start until after my birthday (on 12/21). If there's going to be a tree, we'll get it before then (but not much), but no decorating until after my birthday. Waking up early - Depends on how early. I routinely wake up 15-20 minutes before my alarm, and I play a little bit of one of my games. More than that, I really do try to go back to sleep. I have a particular kind of insomnia that allows me to fall asleep instantly when I go to bed, but wake up 3-4 hours later. I have tricks from my therapist to help me try to fall back asleep, but even if I don't manage it, I need to stay in bed, resting, and counting blessings. (Counting Beagle snores is one of my blessings, and one of the tricks to falling back to sleep.)
Are you trying to manage your weight/maintain healthy eating habits during the holiday season? Or is the month of December a free pass (food wise) for you?

that's a tricky question for care free to monitoring weight and eating! so I will say BOTH! LOL. I am on the care free to eat! while just making sure I do not go over board! question: is your refrigerator at home usually full, half full, or mostly empty?

I try to keep my grocery shopping on an 'as needed' basis and this includes things in the fridge. Right now because it's Saturday it's at the half full stage. Even the condiments on the door shelves are things we actually use. Since DHs heart attack several years ago a lot of things have changed, the what is in the pantry and fridge is a huge one.
Winter has sort of arrived here in AZ. Temps for the last few days has been cool enough for me to dig out the sweat shirts. I keep hearing about all the snow dumping on the southeast US. How much have you gotten, and how much more is expected?

We haven't had snow yet (PNW) and I'm scared to look up how much is expected. I was planning an outdoor activity with my mom last weekend, so I looked up the forecast and we were supposed to get spots of snow through the week, but it didn't happen. I don't mind snow so much, but I hate the ice we usually get in its place.
Did you participate in any Secret Santa type activities this year?

Several years ago my sister found an awesome online Secret Santa exchange program. She plugs in our names, and it automatically draws for us. We have a dollar limit, and each participant can make a wish list, ask anonymous questions of the person they drew, etc. This year I got my BIL. Got him a gift card and wrapped it in increasingly large boxes. Favorite holiday guilty pleasure?

RANT: taking time off during the Holidays? I am unable to express how bad of a question that is for me!! LOL I am actually stressing out for the first time in 12 years of trying desperately to use my vacation days! Every year I loose at LEAST 3 days of vacation time. last year I lost 9 days! this year with my current boss, WAS going to be the very first time I scheduled to use all of my vacation days. but it is going bad. currently looks like I am going to loose 2 max. Answer: yes, I have scheduled time off from work for Christmas and New Year. Question: have you been invited to any Christmas or New Year parties other than work parties?

Nope, no parties.
And, losing vacation days is horrible! I will never lose vacation time, they can pry it from my cold, dead hands. I usually have my use or lose used up by the end of November, but this year I'm taking my last few hours during the last pay period.
Have you bought tickets for any 2018 events? (I've got both concert and play tickets already purchased)

Answer: the actual answer is no I do not have any 2018 tickets for shows, or events. However I might be able to attend something in 2018 due to my budget cuts! I am cutting off memberships I do not use, changed my auto insurance policy and company; {they are going up in price}, and found out that I am paying for the same kind of service for 3 memberships! redundancy {streaming video / movies} Question: are you paying for the same kind of service on multiple services? Example Cable, Hulu, Amazon, Netflix?

Apparently she's losing about 2 weeks this year, all the while covering for her on days off and sick co-workers this past week. There are no words to describe..... All I told her is SHE is in control of her days off. She claims she's going to play it differently next year. uh-huh.. A: DH pays that bill, and it's bundled satellite, VuDu, YouTube, Netflix, and a few others. When is the last time you reviewed your budget and successfully reduced at least one bill?

RANT: Too funny! tooo funn! that vacation question REALLY must have struck a nerve! TWO WEEKS LOST Iggy aka IG mom lost! YIKES!! up set! so upsetting! I couldn't begin to imagine loosing that much time. But IG is correct. it is up to us to use our vacation time during the year! it is mom fault. people have to realize. vacation doesn't mean you have to jet off somewhere. stay home! watch some TV. stay in and sleep late. a successful vacation? is having trouble getting back into your daily routine!
Answer: I have been saving money with making major changes for my 2018 budget these past days and weeks. {1} I changed auto insurance companies. current one decided to go UP in price! I was like why? the answer was stupid! so I am unable to remember. it broke my brain! LOL {2} I am canceling Netflix streaming part of their service. it went up in price. reason Netflix upgraded their streaming capabilities for better quality HD and sound! and {3} lastly I called my cable company! and activated the latest bundle deal for the next three months. same package service I have. but their was a promo I had to call to find out!
Question: Winter starts officially this Thursday. Do you still have some Ice Cream in the Winter time?
