azucena,
I do. I go between her blog and stlmommy.com, but I prefer King Size Savings/savingmoneyinmissoui.com. She also links the ads and the coupon policies, so, to me, it's a little easier to follow.

I hit up CVS today and this was my transaction:
2 Stayfree Maxipads -- 4.19 B1G1 1 Kotex pantyliners -- 1.67 1 simply skincare makeup wipes -- 4.79 2 simply skincare daily moisturizer -- 1 clearance 3.32, 1 sale price of 11.29 1 simply skincare eye cream -- clearance 3.32
Coupons used: $4 off any $20 skincare CVS coupon $2 off any Kotex CVS coupon 3/$3 Simply skincare lotion 1 B1G1 Stayfree $6.50 in ECBs
Total was $28.58 before coupons, I paid $2.89 OOP and received back $5 in ECBs.
My store was out of Aveeno in the small sizes and don't carry Aveeno travel sizes so I will try another store and then if that doesn't work I'll get a raincheck.

Monica: I read on WUC that a memo was sent to store managers that the travel size was not included in the Aveeno deal, so them forcing EBs for that is more YMMV than even before. Nothing was noted about the 2.5 oz. tubes. That size is excluded from the coupon this time around, so they probably would not be a very good value. I think getting a rain check and attempting to use it in the future is probably a better bet. The ad does say "All" and it is a shame that CS has directed store managers not to honor it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was so bummed to see the 2.5 oz. exclusion on the new Aveeno coupons. I had the opportunity to stockpile that size the last time around at Target and now I am so glad that I drove across town to do that deal.

Morning all! Not sure if anyone posted this here yet, but there's sort of a hidden deal at CVS this week. Nivea men's shaving cream is around $4.29 a bottle and is producing a $5 EB (Limit 1). I also found some clearanced Pantene yesterday (Classic Clean conditioner) for $1.49 a bottle, so I got two bottles for free with the $3 off 2 coupon from the last P&G insert.

My grocery store Giant PA has the Gold Bond ultra ribbons @ 50% off So @$3.99 each $2/1 mq $1.99 oop. I bought 3 my hands are dry and horrible and this stuff is really good. I should be good all winter. I may go to another store to see if they have more as I still have 7 $2/1 mq's. I did a clearance cherry pick shop today and got the bill down from $71 to $23 but I spend a long time looking for looking for the half off things. But I scored trash bags for 50cents amongst other things. Thanks for posting about the nivea a deal in CVS. I have a $10 ecb so I might try and do it.

I feel like a queen!! I was at the dentist today and "got crowned". ;D
I went into CVS before going to the dentist to get my BOGO Stayfree and when I handed the Q to the cashier she said I couldn't use it because they were already BOGO. I told her that according to CVS coupon policy you are allowed to use a BOGO on a BOGO and that it even says, "therefore getting (2) for free". She took it, but this is why I'm getting out of CVS. I can't go in there without an EB needing to be forced, being questioned about a coupon that I'm using, etc. It always seem to be something. It NEVER used to be like that and I'm flat out tired of it. The cashier was not a new employee; she's been working there for years. How come she doesn't know this?

Dancinmama -- good think you pointed that out to me about the coupon, i didn't read it closely enough I guess! I will follow your suggestion and get the raincheck.
Also I noticed when reviewing my CVS receipt from the other night that I forgot to give the guy the $2/1 simply skincare cleanser coupon! I will stop in tomorrow to pick up an Rx and ask them to adjust it. Fingers crossed they won't give me any trouble.

Well, you learn something new everyday!!
Here I thought all this time that the EBs that we get and use were CVS money. Wrong. The EBs are manufacturer money. The manufacturers reimburse CVS for them as long as they are acquired using an event code (during the week of the sale or before the event codes leave the system). If the event code is no longer in the system when you redeem the rain check, the store eats it.
I would think that a percentage of the EB would be sponsored by CVS, but I did not get that impression.
I don't know about the CRTs, $/$$, or the % off coupons. It seems that the CRTs might be manufacturer too, but my bet is that the $/$$ and the % off coupons are CVS.

Dancin I can tell whether a coupon/EB is CVS sponsored or mfg sponsored. Here in IL if I use a CVS coupon/EB it is considered a sale and the sales tax also comes off. With a mfg coupon/EB I pay FULL price sales tax. Realize that is after the fact.
Someone (dancing?) was looking for 9v batteries. CVS has their house brand on sale BOGO starting 1/20.
I sent for 3 FREE 2013 Calendars in the first 2 weeks of Nov. Received NADA!!! What a waste of my time.

If they didn't want us to use them together then why put it in the ad to tell us to do it? You don't need to get out of CVS you need a new CVS.

RE EB's, CRT's and man. q's: This is the same thing with the RA q's you see in the Sunday inserts. The RA store is actually reimbursed for those. Found out when I was buying the Keri Lotion with the $5 RA q. Mgr told me they are sent to the same place as all other q's because the man. reimburses RA for those. Don't know about the VV q's.
I've often thought this was the story because so many of of the CVS red machine q's match up with q's from inserts; coupons.com etc..
I don't think they will change their policy (fingers crossed) because the cost of these items is much higher in the drug store chains. They need to have those addtl. q's to get people in there. JMO.

I told them that it is in their flyer and they don't have any on the shelf so I would like a raincheck. I thought I had spent all my ECBs but I found another $2.00 one in my stash. Now I have to figure how to spend it. Beachbum: I wish I had a better selection of CVS but they are rare in our area. We have more Rite Aids and Walgreens.

Ya, I know; but unfortunately I'm "stuck" with the one I have. To be questioned about that coupon just gives you an indication of how far in the other direction my CVS has gone when it comes to coupon friendliness. It has been a complete 180. At least the little cashier was not "rude" about it, but still....to even be questioned is ridiculous. I'm debating whether or not to talk to the manager about it or even call the DM. It won't make much difference as far as I'm concerned because I'll be on hiatus, but it may result in them easing up on other couponers.

I told them that it is in their flyer and they don't have any on the shelf so I would like a raincheck. I'm pretty sure that the EB rain check is becoming a big issue. First, because of all the couponers, stock has become more of a problem resulting in a much higher rate of rain check issuance. If the event code is no longer in the system when that rain check is redeemed, the EB has to be forced in which case it is not reimbursed to CVS by the manufacturer. It was probably not a big deal pre-EC, but it is probably now costing CVS quite a pretty penny. I know that I have collected many of those pennies myself. As a matter of fact I was at an out-of-town CVS in mid-December and attempted to get a rain check for one of the many razor deals as they were OOS and the cashier (the AM, I believe) balked and started to inform me of when their next shipment would come in. I did get the rain check, but still.....

Dancin I am lucky enough to have 3 CVS stores on my regular travel route. I have at 2 more near my home, another a near my Dad. I am sure there are even more reasonably nearby. Seems like around me in metro Chicago CVS & WAG are opening new stores to be within ½ mi/less of each other.
When a cashier/staff member gives me……….hassles about the ‘truck comes Xday or s/he has to check the stock room I simply tell them: I am here NOW. I will NOT have time/gas money to be back AGAIN this week. I INSIST on getting a raincheck NOW per FTC regulations. OR:
It is NOT my job toi maintain stock on YOUR shelves. I do NOT have time to wait while you grab a ciggy or go potty. I want my raincheck NOW per FTC regulations.

I never thought about that conversation again until I read your post. Anyone else thinking we are pretty darn lucky to have been able to use MC's on items giving EB's and wonder how long that's going to last with all of the changes in coupon acceptance policies?! In the "old days", reissuing EBs seemed to just be a part of CVS's customer service. That was pre-EC, but after couponing had gone viral on the internet. I'm pretty darn sure a lot of those EBs were manufacturer EBs, but there just weren't nearly as many people couponing, so CVS did it as a courtesy. They stopped offering that "service" before I got a CVS in 2009, probably because every time they did it, they were eating the cost. Now, it is getting to be the same way with the force printed EBs. Due to lack of stock from the deluge of couponers all trying to get the same deals, there are just too many rain checks being issued and too many forced prints. It is probably costing CVS a boatload of money every year. I knew that what CVS and the other drug chains had been offering us was "golden" (using MCs to buy products giving rewards and rolling those rewards into other reward offers, reducing our OOP with $/$$ if available). I was couponing way before the pre-drug chain rewards days and free non-perishables were slim pickins. It is one of the reasons that I have been "working" so hard during these recent years to build a pretty healthy stockpile. I don't know how much longer it will last, but I do suspect that one day the gravy train will stop. Quite frankly, I am surprised that after all these years, we're still getting the freebies and MMs that we do. And constanz, you make a great point. How much longer are the manufacturers going to subsidize what we do at CVS, WAGs, and Rite Aid, in light of the fact that mfg coupon restrictions indicate that they do not want us stockpiling? And on a side note: Aren't the coupon restrictions getting a bit ridiculous? I believe both the Aveeno coupons and the Stayfree coupons are limited to one per person, yet they are being widely distributed in the Sunday coupon inserts. The Finish coupons are restricted to (2) per "shopping trip". What the hell does that mean? Can I go and buy (2), run home and drop them off, and then return to get (2) more because I am making another "shopping trip"? It's getting pretty silly.

I do NOT have time to wait while you grab a ciggy or go potty. I want my raincheck NOW per FTC regulations. EXACTLY!! You'd think that they'd stock their shelves better knowing that rain check EBs result in a loss to them. Before every sale, I check the stock at my store and then determine whether I "have to" shop just after midnight on Sunday morning because shopping later might result in my not getting the product or being able to roll my EBs. Do I "want to" stay up past midnight to shop at CVS? Absolutely not. This week, with the Aveeno deal being a limit of (6) they had a "fair" amount of stock on the shelves when the sale broke, but it went very quickly. They did not get additional stock in the Saturday load (the Saturday before the sale broke) and they did not get additional stock in the mid-week load. With limits like that, I am pretty sure that they wrote several rain checks which will most likely result in them taking a loss when those rain checks are redeemed. Unfortunately it looks like tonight I'll have to make another midnight run.

Fortunately for me, I have 3 big stores within a 2 mile radius between my work and home and all of them seem to have decent stock. I have 2 additional stores if I travel another quarter mile. I never get the opportunity to get rainchecks. The coupon limits are also easy for me to manage since I can buy 2 Finish in the first store and go to the next one to get the next 2. This week all my stores had tons of Tresemme (with the 1.75 peelies) , lysol and Finish and I was able to get 2 cash cards. I don't use the Tresemme, but my food bank asked for more shampoo. Next week, with the Tide and Duracell I can easily do one cash card deal. I am slowly down to a manageable number of ECBs and I like it.

I, too, feel very lucky that I have so many CVS stores to shop at. Although there are none where I live, I have 5 within a mile or two of work and several others that I pass during the week. I have my one or two favorites that know me well, are super coupon friendly and tend to have really good stock. I've been collecting the 1.75/1 peelies from the Tresemme all week. I think I bought 6 this week. 4 went toward one gift card deal, but then yesterday I decided to just buy 2 on my other card cuz I still had a $2/2 CRT, even though I wasn't going for the gift card, .58 each for those huge bottles is a great deal. I actually do like/use this brand. My stockpile shelves are absolutely FULL and running over. I have 2-3 tubs of stuff on the floor in front of my stockpile shelves cuz there is just no more room. Pretty much everything on the floor has been from Black Friday on. I have enough shampoo, conditioner and lotion now to last the rest of my life. Gotta try to make room though. I have too, too much. I would just sort a bunch out for my yard sale this summer, but, if all goes as planned, I am selling my camper this spring, so, no more stockpile sales , not sure how I'll unload all this now...

Just popping in to say "Hi!" to my grocery challenge friends.
I quit my job at the crazy psycho Police Department and I feel so much less stress. However, I started my student teaching this week and I'm as busy as ever. I still read when I can. Hope to get more settled in a couple weeks and be around more.
Hoping you all are well and that everyone's New Year is progressing wonderfully with lots of great deals.

To be honest, I am grateful that I have even one CVS. It has been only this past year that mine has "gone bad" and in spite of that, I've been able to stockpile a lot of items that were on my target list thanks to their sales/promotions. More CVSes would be awesome, but I really don't think about that too much, focus on what I have and what I've been able to do, and move on. I don't really mind stepping back for a while, especially since I will have several GCs that will come in handy if/when I decide to jump back in. Shopping there just is never/rarely "fun" anymore and due to the anti-coupon sentiment; sometimes it's even gotten downright stressful. Life is too short for that and I've already put up with it for too long - kind of like a worker that hates their job, but has to keep working. Well, I don't "need" to keep shopping at CVS; I'd like to, but I don't "need" to and I am extremely grateful to all of you for helping me get here.

HOUND ALERT REMINDER: FREE BOX PURINA ONE COUPON (1/13 RP)There will be a coupon in tomorrow's inserts for a FREE box of Purina One Beyond for kitty cats. If you don't have a sweet kitty cat like Milo the Lizard Slayer or do not donate to an animal shelter, I sure would appreciate any extras of these coupons that you may have. There will also be a $1/1 Pup-Peroni that Buddy the Beagle and The Rocketman would also love for me to get. I have a CVS rain check for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Not sure if your Kroger is having the Gillette Proglide part of your save $5. But they are $6.99 if you mix and match at our Frys. We have a coupon $10/1 in 12/02 RP. We are allowed overage so I used it to get produce. I'm a very happy couponer today.

Dancin, Let me see what I have. I kind of did a quick glance this morning but didn't pay attention to what was in there. NAG: My son's Cub Scout pack had their Pinewood Derby today. My 4th grader (Webelo I) took 2nd place OVERALL for speed. There were 50 cars that raced, so he did really well. Too bad he wasn't there to accept his trophy. He had 2 soccer games during the races, so his dad and I were texting back and forth with updates of the different events. His soccer team won both of their games today. It was a GREAT day in our house. THEN, we went to Chili's for dinner and my daughter took her Girl Scout Cookie form with her, since today is the first day of cookie sales here in St. Louis. She sold 56 boxes so far! She's quite a happy camper! Her goal is 100 boxes, so a little more than halfway there. Oh, and I started a new job yesterday. Still with the same company and kind of doing the same thing, BUT it comes with a few "perks." One is I'm no longer on the shop floor and having to listen to drilling and all kinds of other crazy noise. The BIGGEST perk? The rather substantial raise that came with it... It's been a pretty good couple of days in our house:D
